>> and >> please welcome the 45th president of the united states. donald trump. gentlemen, thanks so much for being here. let's begin the debate and let's start with the issue that voters consistently say is their top concern. the economy. >> president biden, inflation has slowed, but prices remain high since you took office. the price of essentials has increased, for example, a basket of groceries to cost $100. then now costs more than $120 and typical home prices have jumped more than 30%. what do you say to voters who feel they are worse off under your presidency than they were under president trump? >> that take a look at what i
6:04 pm
was left impression and mister trump let we have economy of in truthful and then so badly handled. many people are dying. all he said was not that just injecting bleach. and, you you are launched, pay rooms to 50% terrible. and so we had to do try to things together again. it's exactly what we begin to do. 50,000 new jobs, new his issue you have 800,000 manufacturing it is known to be doing. want to be doing work in case people are still trouble and come from scranton, pennsylvania, compassion read a kitchen table. he's able make 3 month was aims to push against oppression, all i'm working hard to make and do with those problems. and we're going to make sure that we reduced depression. going make to to >> they make sure we can
6:05 pm
corporate. we can take over the combination and it was left with a quip agrees. the reason why we use problem making in addition to that, should ation where if you have look at all that was done in his to didn't do much in awe and the tv live to we can. season. cans. and so we in community. i see chance make sure we have situation we report on the patient a few drugs using major issue for many people to $15. houston his post $400. shooting has to be more than $200 any job. all the food you can next year. situation is made make it available to everybody work and even down the transition from the kitchen table. that's really good thank you. president trump. >> we have the greatest economy in the history of our country and we have never done so everybody was amazed by
6:06 pm
other countries will copy as we got hit with covid. and when we did, we spent the money necessary we wouldn't end up in great depression, the likes of which we had in 1929, by the time we finished, we did a great job with a lot of credit to the economy. a lot of credit the military no wars in so many other things. everything was rockin good. but the thing we never got the credit for and we should have is getting us out of that covid and he created mandates that was a disaster for our country. but other than that, we had we had given them a country where the stock market actually was higher than pre-covid and nobody thought that was even possible. the only jobs he created a and legal immigrants and bounce back jobs to bounce back from the covid. he has not done a good job. he's done a poor job in inflation is killing our country is absolutely killing us. >> thank you. president biden. your day she came in the world, he's extended. and else is new to patient came to you
6:07 pm
better than that is active. you ourselves a situation where comes up me. he wanted to wealthy, hit a large text, had no history to dollars. he was a difference a large and that president hasn't anyone to. he's only place, you know, have lost jobs and he added game show idea that he did something that we should if you and change. you know, when you stretch you people, afghans team, he didn't do anything about he was present still finish as the position where you had a notion use country to things and then praise you essentially it doesn't have any to stick in anywhere in the world like he did. president trump. i want to follow-up if i can. you want respond to why and ask you a follow-up. you can do whatever you want with the minute that we gave i want to follow up. you want to impose
6:08 pm
a 10% tariff on all goods coming into the u.s.. >> how will you ensure that that doesn't drive prices even higher now than it just close countries that have been ripping us off years like china. >> and many others, in all fairness to china, it's going just force them to pass a lot of money reduce our deficit tremendously and give us a lot of power for other things. he would he made a statement. the only thing is right about is i gave you the largest tax cut in history. also give you the largest regulation cut in history. that's what we had. all the jobs and the jobs went down and then they bounce back and he's taking credit for a bounce-back jobs. you can do that. >> he also said he inherited 9% inflation. now he inherited almost no inflation and it stay that way for 14 months. and then it blew up under his leadership because they spent money like a bunch of people that didn't know what they were doing and they don't know what they're doing is the worst. probably the worst administration in history has never been. and as far as afghan is standing attention, i was getting out of afghanistan, but we are getting out with dignity, with
6:09 pm
strength, with power. he got out. it was the most embarrassing day in the history of our country's life. >> president trump over the last 8 years under both of your administration's the national debt soared to record highs and according to a new non-partisan analysis, president trump, your administration approved 8.4 trillion dollars in new debt. well, so far, president biden, you've approved 4.3 trillion dollars in new debt. so former president trump, many of the tax cuts that you signed into law are set to expire next year. you want to extend them and go even further. you say with the u.s. facing trillion dollar deficits and record debt. why should top earners and corporations pay even less in taxes than they do now? because the tax cuts period, the greatest economy that we've ever seen just prior to covid and even after covid, it was so strong that we're able to get through covid much better than just about any other country. >> but we sped that tax spirit. now, when we cut the taxes is example. the corporate taxes cut down to 21% from 39%. plus be on that.
6:10 pm
we took in more revenue with much less tax and companies will bring it back. trillions of dollars back into our country. the country was going like never before. and we're ready to start paying down debt. we really start using the liquid gold right under our feet. the oil and gas right under a sheet. we were going to have something that nobody else has had. we got hit with covid. we did a lot to fix it. i gave him an unbelievable situation with all of the therapeutics and all of the things that we came up we gave him something great. remember more people died under his administration even though we had largely fixed more people died and his administration that our administration and we were right in the middle of it something which a lot of people don't like to talk about. but he far more people dying in his administration. he did the mandate, which is a disaster, mandating it the vaccine, one that he didn't mandating the vaccine, which is the thing that people most objected to about the vaccine.
6:11 pm
and he did a very poor job. just a very poor job. and i will tell you, not only for their but throughout the entire world will no longer respected as a country respect leadership. they do respect the united states anymore. when like a 3rd world nation between weaponization of his election trying to go after his political opponent, all of the things he's done. we've become like a 3rd worid nation and it's a shame the damage he's done to our country. and i'd love to ask him and will why he allowed millions of people to come in here from prisons, jails in mental institutions to come into our country and destroy our country. >> president trump, we will get to later in this block. president biden, i want to give you opportunity to respond to this question about the national debt. >> he had the largest national day. you for everyone and the 2. you've got to tune out. a test could benefit the very wealthy. yeah. i want do 60 texas. it was apple. we had 2002 years unit and an and
6:12 pm
what's happening a situation they checked 22% actions if they just pay 24%. 25% either. one of those numbers indeed makes 500 million dollars billion dollars as you change in the tin he didn't read without his debt be able help make sure you all those we need to chain can you can sure that we continue to chasing a health making sure that we're able to make every single solitary person eligible for what i've been able do can covid be dealing with. mean, we have to do we finally be medicare. thank you, president, about president trump. >> here's what he did. beat medicaid. beat it to death and is destroying medicare because all of these people are coming in to putting them on medicare
6:13 pm
that putting him social security, they're going to destroy social security. this man is going to single-handedly destroy social security. these millions and they're trying to put them on social security. he will wipe out social security. he will wipe out medicare. so he was right in the way he finished that sentence. and it's a shame what's happened to our country in the last 4 years is not to be believed foreign countries i'm friends with a lot of people. they cannot believe what happened to the united states of america will no longer respected. they they don't like us. we give them everything they want and they they think we're stupid. they think we're very stupid people. what we're doing for other countries and they do nothing for us. but this man has done absolutely criminal. >> thank you. president trump this is the first presidential election since the supreme court overturn roe v wade. this morning. the court ruled on yet another abortion case
6:14 pm
temporarily emergency abortions to continue in idaho. despite that state's restrictive ban. former president trump. you take credit for the decision to overturn roe v wade, which returned the issue of abortion to the states wrecked, however, the federal government still plays a role in whether or not women have access to abortion pills. they're used in about two-thirds of all abortions as president. would you block abortion medication? >> first, though, the supreme court just approved the abortion pill. and i agree with the decision to have done that and i will not it. and if you look at this whole question that you're asking complex, but not really complex. 51 years ago he had roe v wade and everybody wanted to get it back to the states. everybody without exception, democrats, republicans, liberals, conservatives, everybody wanted to religious leaders. and what i did is i put 3 great supreme court justices
6:15 pm
on the court and they have to devote in shaver killing roe v wade and moving it back to the states. is something that everybody wanted now 10 years ago or so. they started talking about how many weeks and how many this getting into other things. but every legal scholar throughout the world, the most respected wanted brought back to the states. i do now the states are working it out. if you look at ohio, it was a decision that was it was result. that was a little bit more liberal than you would have thought. kansas. i would say the same thing at texas is different florida station, but they were making their own decisions right now. and right now, the state's control, if that's the vote of the people like ronald reagan, i believe in the exceptions, i am a person that believes and frankly, i think it's important to believe in exceptions. some people you have to follow your heart. some people don't believe in that. but i believe in the exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother, i think it's very important. some people don't follow your heart, but you have to get
6:16 pm
elected also and it because that has to do with other things. you got to get elected. the problem they have is the radical because they will take the life of a child in the 8th month, the 9th month. even after both after if you look at the former governor of virginia, he was willing to do this, he said will put the baby aside and we'll determine what we do with the baby. meaning will kill the baby. what happens? we brought it back to the states and the country is now coming together on this issue. it's been a great thing. thank you. president terrible but you >> fact is that vast majority of concision scholarship or was inside supporting role. and was that she decided that they want to get you just ridiculous. and this is a guy who says the state should be able to have state. we're in 6 weeks. you need know if you're pregnant, but you cannot shoot doctor and have him decided what you should changed. we need help. idea that state do this is a little like chain.
6:17 pm
we to shovel respect states each day have a different rule. but so many young women who have included, the young woman who just and he went to the shooting and the idea she was murdered by and community. you talk about here's the deal. there's a lot it would unwilling to be raped by biden i to brothers and sisters. just it's just ridiculous. and you can do nothing about it. try to rescue men across state lines. thank you. >> have been many young women murdered by the same people. he allows to come across our border. we have a border. that's the most dangerous place anywhere in the world. considered the most dangerous place anywhere in the world. and he opened it up and these killers are coming into our country and they are and killing women. and it's a terrible thing as far as the abortions can say. it is now back with the states. the states are voting and in many
6:18 pm
cases it's frankly a very liberal decision. in many cases, it's opposite. but they're voting and it's bringing it back to the vote of the people, which is what everybody wanted, including the founders. if they knew about this issue, which frankly they didn't, but they would event everybody wanted brought back. ronald reagan wanted brought back. he was unable to get it. everybody waiting to brought back and many presidents had tried to get it back. i was the one to do it again. this gives it a vote of the people and that's where they wanted it. every legal scholar wanted it that way. >> staying on the topic of abortion, president biden, 7 states. i'll let you do this is its same topic. 7 states have no legal restrictions. and how far into a pregnancy a woman can obtain an abortion. do you support any legal limits on how late a woman should be able to terminate a pregnancy has support roe v wade. she had 3 shuttle missions. first time is between woman in the docket.
6:19 pm
check your time is up to the doctor and an extreme situation. 3rd channels between. >> to doctor having the woman state. idea that the politicians, they founders want the politicians to be. the winds begin to see i want to his reductions. it's the last no politician making decision. doctor should making his decision. that's how should be wrong. that's what you do. and if i'm elected, i'm going to store roe v wade. so that means he can take the life of the baby in the 9th month and even after because some states democrat run take it after birth again to governors from the governor of virginia. put the baby down. then we decide what to do that. so he's and he's willing to, as we say, rip the baby out of the in the 9th month and kill the baby. >> nobody wants that to happen. democrat or republican. nobody wants it to happen. you love that is simply not true roe v wade is provide today. it's not the
6:20 pm
circumstance life is in danger. she going die. that's only circumstance where second happened. but we're not for late term abortion period. 2 period. roe v wade, you have late term abortion. you can do whatever you want to pending in the state. you can do whatever you want. we don't think that's a good thing. we think it's a radical thing. we think the democrats are the radicals, not the republicans. just 51 years that was lost. 51 years comes from a ship, said it was the right way to go 51 years and was taken away because this guy please convey, can show members on the supreme court takes credit for taking away. what's he going to do? what you can do is check to if republicans he gets elected and republicans control the times and a passion. universal man on abortion period across the board had 6 weeks to 7 or or 10. checked into very conservative as you can sign up a hillside. thank you. >> let's turn now to the issue of integration in border
6:21 pm
security. president biden, a record number of migrants have illegally cross the southern border on your watch. overwhelming border states and overburdening cities such as new york and chicago and in some cases causing real safety and security concerns. given that washing voters trust you to solve this crisis. >> we worked very hard to get a bipartisan agreement had not only change all of that and make sure that we are situation where the you no circumstance where they come across the number of important issue right now, you should get number simon, she should be by the border patrol endorsed endorsed my position. addition to that, find ourselves a situation where when he was president, he was taking shape babies and their to cajuns, the families are separated. that's not a way to go. and i did shoot. i've changed the law. what happened have changed in the way now you have situation where 40% people coming across the
6:22 pm
border illegally. he's been left office and continue to move in get total ban. needed do the total initiate relative to what we can do more border patrol and more. an president trump. >> i really didn't know what he said. the end of their sons. think he knows what he said. he that look. we have the safest border in the history of our country. the board only added to its lead. we had additionally judge, he decided to open up our border, open up our country, too. people that are from prisons, people that from mental institutions, insane asylum terrorists with the largest number of terror is coming to a country right now. all terrorist school over the world, not just in south america, all over the world. they come from the middle east, everywhere all over the world are pouring in. >> and this guy just left it open and he didn't need legislation because i didn't have legislation. i should close the border with the safest border in history in that final couple of months of
6:23 pm
my presidency, we had according to border patrol who great. and by the way, who endorsed me for president. but i won't say that endorsed me for president. brendan, just speak to him. but look, we have the safest history. now we have the worst quarter in history. he's never been anything like it and people are dying all over the place, including the people that are coming out and into trump for president biden. >> only 2 crossed border. his warning came along 3 management education locate community. the station killed 3 american soldiers. 2, 3 american soldiers. it's only terrorist and then change tourist ever that can dia tune prisoners were in community people and simply not there's no data support. we once again is huge and rainy slide. >> president trump, i'm staying on the topic of immigration. you said you're going to carry out, quote, the largest domestic deportation operation in american history,
6:24 pm
unquote. does that mean that you will deport every undocumented immigrant in america, including those who have jobs, including those who spouses are citizens, including who have lived here for decades. and if so. >> how would you do? and just one 0nd, he said we kill 3 people. the people we killed our al-baghdadi and maney the 2 greatest biggest areas anywhere in the world and it had a huge impact on everything, not just border on everything. he's the one that killed people with a bad word, including. hundreds of thousands of people dying and also killing our citizens when they come in. we have we are living right now in a rat's nest. they're killing our people in new york and california in every state in the union because we don't have borders anymore. every state is now a border and because of his ridiculous, insane and very stupid policies. people are coming in and killing our citizens at a level that we've never we call it migrant crime. i biden
6:25 pm
migrant crime, killing our citizens at a level that we've never seen before. and you're reading it like these 3 incredible young girls over the last few days. one of just spoke to the mother and he just had the funeral for this girl 12 years old. this is horrible. what's taken place, what's taken place in our country will literally uncivilized country. now he doesn't want be. he just doesn't know. he open the borders. nobody's ever seen anything like and we have to get a lot of these people out and we have to get them out fast because they're going to destroy our country. just take a look at where they're living. they're living in luxury hotels in new york city and other places. our veterans are of the street did die because he doesn't care about a veteran. is okay. doesn't like the military at all and he doesn't care about. that is nobody been worse. i had the highest approval rating for veterans taking care. the va. he has the worst. he's got rid of all the things that i approve choice but to get through congress, all of the different things i approve.
6:26 pm
they abandoned. we had by far the highest and now it's down in less than half because he's done all these great things that we did. and i think he did it just because i approved it, which is crazy. but he is killed so many people at our border. all of these people to come in, as said, de una about you have the mike evans unification is a lie. >> every single one, for example, that a of a lot better options had passed the pact act. 1 million of them now insurance and their families if families have because what happened and where there was agent orange for pitch. they're all being covered. now and he opposes group opposing it. also situation where and great respect veterans. my spirit, my spent year in a wreck anyway. next, of those burn pits comeback stage 4 glioblastoma. his recent france d-day. and about those heroes. tide and went to the
6:27 pm
world war. 2 senators one should choose to go team's 4 star general. and he told me should do want to go in there because you're much losing sectors. my son was no reason was not a separate u soccer. you're losing president trump. for some of made up quotes appears in news is they made it up. it was undefeated. red magazine is failing. like many of these magazines. >> he made that up. he put it in commercials. we've notified them. we had 19 people that said it didn't and think of who would at a cemetery or i'm talking about our veterans because nobody is taking better job. so glad this came up and he brought it up. there's nobody taken better care of our soldiers that i had think that i would in front of generals and others say suckers and losers. we have 19 people that said it was never said by me, it was made up by him just like russia, russia. russia was made up just like the 51 intelligence agents are made up just like the new thing
6:28 pm
with the 16 economists are talking same thing. 51 intelligence agency said that the laptop was russian disinformation. it wasn't. that came from the son hunter. it wasn't russia, disinformation. he made up the suckers and losers so should apologize to be right now. >> will star general changes shines on your staff. you said you said period. that's number one. and number 2, the idea, andy and i have to apologize to you for anything long gone. we've done more for veterans trez. you has american history and then our their family and we should get out gate we have. is your country is to care for. veterans may come home and their families and quick and then they go to war. that's what we're doing. that to the va doing now in doing more for veterans ever before in history. >> all right. thank you so much. let's move to the top of the foreign policy. l want to begin with russia's war against ukraine, which is now in its 3rd year. former president trump russian
6:29 pm
president vladimir putin says he'll only and this war if russia keeps the ukrainian territory, it has already claimed and ukraine abandons its bid to join nato. putin's terms acceptable first of all. >> our veterans and our soldiers can stand is. they can stand they think is the worst commander-in-chief of that's what you call them. that we've ever had taken standing. so let's get that straight. and they like me more than just about any of them. and that's based on every single bit of information as far as russia and ukraine. if we had a real president, the president that knew that was respected by putin. he would have never he would have never invaded ukraine. a lot of people are dead right now. much more than people know. you know, they talk about numbers. you can double. those numbers may be triple those numbers. he did nothing to stop it. in fact, i think he encouraged russia going in at tell you what happened. he was so bad with afghanistan. it was such a
6:30 pm
horrible, embarrassed, most embarrassing moment in the history of our country that when putin watch that any so the incompetence that he should he should have fired those generals like i fired the one that you mentioned. and so he's got no love lost, but he should have fired those shows. no general that fired for the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country. afghanistan. when we left billions of dollars of equipment behind, we lost 18 beautiful soldiers and 38 soldiers were obliterated. and by the way, we left people behind 2, we left american citizens be had. saw that, he said, you know what? i think we're going to go in and maybe take my this is his dream. i talked to him about his room. the difference is he never would have invaded. you never just like israel would have never been invaded. in a million years by hamas. you know why? because iran was broke with me. i would let anybody do business with them. they ran out of money. they were broke that no money for hamas. they had no money
6:31 pm
anything. no money for that's why you had no, tara at all during my administration, this place, the whole world is blowing up under him. has it >> you know who she i came home vision, situation where taken last week, first. and attacked american troops has been playing damage numbers change. he did about he was crazy, the tent, he said you just haven't had he didn't do anything. and that had to patients want and the 2 we've had over 100,000 americans and out have to use doing it in number shooting shows in situation where if you take a look at trump didn't up. to told do whatever you want to do it every you want. and that's exactly trump did.
6:32 pm
encourage and do whatever you want anyone and listen to what he said. we to take kiev in 5 days. you member. he's part of the old soviet union. and judy wanted reestablish kiev. and he, in fact, didn't do it all. he didn't win able to get it done and they've lost over it, lost thousands and thousands troops, 592 president for for one minute. i just want to go back to my original question, which is these terms acceptable to you keeping that and you no, they're not acceptable. >> this is a war that never should started. if we had a leader in this war, he let everybody along. he's given 200 billion dollars now or more. to ukraine. he's given 200 billion dollars. that's lot of money. i don't think there's ever been anything like it every time that zelenskyy comes to this country walks 60 billion dollars. he's a great salesman ever and i'm not knocking him. i'm not knocking anything. i'm only saying he's the money that we're spending on this
6:33 pm
war and we shouldn't be spending. it should have never happened. i will have that war settle between putin and zelenskyy as president-elect. before i take office on january. 20th i have that were settled. people being killed so needlessly. so stupidly and i will get it settled and i'll get it settled fast before i take office. and then when you fact is you had dozen were coming. he's thousands and thousands of people. and he has made one clear. he wants to re-establish part of the soviet empire. not just a patient wants all of ukraine. that's what he wants. and then you think stop there. >> you stop when should grant, what do you think happens to pull what you did today, happens to those nato countries. and if you want to war, you find out what he's going to do because actually does what he he walks away. by
6:34 pm
the way, all that money we could ukrainian remake. you in the united states given the weapons at the money this point and then and nato allies reduce as f%nding ukraine. and we have a that's why i urge members strong. >> thank you. moving on to the middle east in october, hamas attacked israel, killing more than 2000 people and taking hundreds of hostages among those held in thought to still be alive are 5 americans. israel's response has killed thousands of palestinians and created a humanitarian crisis in gaza. president biden. you put forward a proposal to resolve this conflict. but so far, hamas has not released their remaining hostages in israel is continuing its military offensive in gaza. so what additional leverage will you use to get hamas and israel to end the war? you have 2 minutes and wounded. >> and should using an
6:35 pm
security council straight through the g 7 to the israelis unit themselves have endorsed a plan to put forward endorsed a candidate before she change too. first changes. changed. has she's she can change the cease-fire with additional conditions chain issues, though, end of the war, only watch word continues for months. and want pushing to get convictions? you need to we champion israel was trying to anything add to is, you know, 2000 pound bombs. don't work. they want to pop while you see people providing newsroom on the weapons you need when they need. the way. and the guy organized world against him and when they have a full-blown, you can almost used attack on israel. no one israeli was actually only
6:36 pm
kill. and it's just we shaved is, you know, we are support means you anyone in world and 2 different things. most and i continue. we continue to dark speech change. people even get a and we did bin laden. you don't have to do by the way it did haiti. we can come maybe we can should should be limited. but you've got to be careful you should weapons population change. he's going back to financial incentive. we have ocean separating us the european nations together. have spent 100 billion or maybe more than that less than >> why doesn't he call them sea? got to put up the money like i did with nato. i got them to put up hundreds of billions of dollars. the secretary-general of nato said trump that the most incredible job of of the scene. he wouldn't they wouldn't have any. they were going out of business. we're spending almost 100% of the money was
6:37 pm

president trump has taken on abortion on roe v wade is very deeply unpopular nationwide. even in red states, joe biden is sort of famously averse to talking about abortion. but issue has actually reached topics like in vitro fertilization. totally consensus positions. and he managed to carmel that answer as well. so i think he missed many opportunities. we could talk about offense defense, but i'm thinking about even frankly, just basic good, perfect, good debate performance. you almost wonder if they're excited about the fact there's another debate looming in september. i'm certainly a tough to watch, you on both counts. tom do, but car or the democrats. a little panicked. >> also like to add my prior comments, 9, 1, of the single time, the whole a good point that that is f rating. i know. i know i people watching this that support beam at that

7:48 pm
was no moderation. there was no fact checking. there was no no stepping in and saying, nope, that statement is false. here is the factual accuracy of the followings issue. no. and then pressing maybe for answers. instead, they just they were just extremely passive. and i didn't think it was effective at all. i'm alarmed by the amount of dis-information that came out of this debate tonight. you know, to donna's point, i think one of the biggest problems was that they didn't. >> they didn't ever stop the candidates and steer them back to answering the question time and again, when trump get a got a question you didn't want to deal with. he just go back to the previous question. he did this time and time again. a strong moderator would have intervened after of now 10 to 15 seconds of set you, mister president. this was the question. would you please address that question? that's what moderators are there to do. the fact checking would have been nice. but let's say on let's say on the spot they couldn't do that. they should have at least done what i just mentioned. i do like a couple things about this format, though. first of all, not having a studio audience is
7:49 pm
great. the the applause in the in the previous debates is really distracting. and what's more they have the mikes off. i'm the candidate whose turn it was not to speak. and i think that was a good thing as well. but definitely i agree with donna and i really think the moderator should have done much more moderate. i was a little surprised. i had heard some discussion there would not necessarily be fact checking. so we kind of knew that might be coming. but yeah, it was like a time when you think. >> well, i don't like to fact component, but i agree that there wasn't enough. look, when i do beating kamala harris, the moderators there said he didn't answer the question. please answer the question about the stop. and that was done several times in this case. but i agree i'm not enough's. i look, i like it when there's the audience said, you know, it turns it
7:50 pm
into using last letter we know form. >> format. and so i don't think it adds to i thought the questioning was not particularly by stephen significant way or another >> but i doing a but problem with the moderators is i would like more questions about. on this issue. tell me 3 things that you are going to i think you have to debate should be about that. but unfortunately have to debate was defend yourself in my view. >> yeah. what the audience get out of it. you know, we were talking earlier about who are the undecideds of what do they want to hear? and, you know, people talk about some people talked about it as a you'll get train wreck audience. people hoping that something would blow up or that the candidate they don't like would blow it. but what if anything, do you think tunnel go back to you just to switch
7:51 pm
the order what the audience get out of this. >> you again. presidential day. you want to come off likable and presidential. no smiles didn't help either. i don't think biden looks presidential at this stage. i thought trump started out better in the 1st half about talking about issues. but i don't think he finished talking about i think towards the end. it just was against you're you're against me. kind thing. so thought this was a missed opportunity. my understanding is on social media. the chatter remains about >> biden and and whether he's for the job. >> yeah, that might what what sticks. but stay anything. i think, you know, this debate was watched by such a large audience, including a lot of people who normally don't engage in politics. >> and i think what many would have come away with again,

remember, styling presentation matter at least as much as substance in these things. you know, what biden need to do tonight is come off looking optimistic, self-assured in command and he dug. he did none of those things. i really think. first of all, he did not seem a command. his answers for the most part, we're meandering. the often times it was it seemed almost to be mumbling. you could tell kind of had something to say, but he didn't seem to know how to get it out. any needed to seem a command of of trump and optimistic. he should have been on the on the attack aggressively claiming credit for his accomplishments, but also presenting this kind of notion about this rising america under his command, you know, leading the world every now and then he would say something fact it was one good moment of in the debate redid this when he talked about are second to none military and our big economy. he should have done that. the entire debate. he didn't create the notion of himself as commander great rising nation, which is the incumbents job on the other hand, trump really
7:53 pm
didn't do himself all that much. all the money favors as well. during the first 20 minutes or so, katherine, he was remarkably articulate by trump standard. i the first 20 minutes just simply went to trump after that, especially in the last half hour or so. he was just back to blathering. same thing. again. the immigrants are coming in to destroy our country. joe biden is the worst president history on the best present district. oh, did i mention the migrants are coming into the store in the country staying in luxury hotels and and, you know, our veterans are living on the did i mention bidens were spread? the usual trump staff which didn't do him all that much. good. but i'll say, you know, he didn't seem weak. he didn't seem like he was, you know, use it's the same old trump. we always know. i think people who look at biden for years ago or even one or 2 years ago. and compared to tonight would notice a difference in terms what you know, just how with it he seems to be. i think that that really placed bidens disadvantage. people watching tonight voters in general are looking for 3 things from debate >> they're looking for new information. they're looking a
7:54 pm
conclusion in their own mind about who is more in command of their space and of material. content and they're looking for who's most relay double to me. i don't think they got any of those those 3 tonight. i think what they got instead is probably a confirmation bias. they probably got, you know, more information that proved what they already believed going in. and it was later in the debate. the trump a little more later in the debate. >> he was making a big claim sometimes rather and strange claims, including the fact that he would be able to and the war in ukraine. before he officially took office, if if he's elected, let's hear that. >> and we shouldn't be spending. it should have never happened. i will have that war settle between putin and zelenskyy as president elect before i take office on january. have that were settled. >> i mean, what what do we make of that? but will this

cook claims are patently and again, i. >> for me, that was that was more just more evidence that we needed a better debate format. he's not sticking to the questions that he's making absurd claims with no material underneath it. >> for sure. a patently absurd claim. but again, biden didn't take advantage. he could have moved immediately and said not only says that the craziest thing i've ever heard, which is kind of what he said. but this guy endorses the so-called chinese plan. sesion pings plan for for the cut for ending the conflict in ukraine, which is basically giving all of putins conquered territories to him. put trump has been relentlessly on cute inside only man in the world who's never criticized. only person in the world is never criticize. this was biden's chance to again tether trump to uproot right. he didn't do it again. a blown chance to go on the offensive and make a
