of what we saw back in 2019 and our peak volume. our peak day ever still belongs to a day in august of 2019, but we're getting remarkably close. airlines continue to recover at more flights back into sfo. we think that this coming years really when we're going to return to 100% of pre-pandemic levels. what do you think it was about the 4th of july that set this record across the nation. people are just ready to start traveling again. >>definitely. and we've seen some interesting trends as well. we actually saw a higher volumes in mid june than we did over this past weekend. so what it tells us is that some people even waiting for july 4th to take their summer vacations. they were already beginning that in mid-june. and then the other trend that we've been seeing the last couple of summers is a much stronger labor day weekend. and we have seen pre-pandemic. so i think what it tells us is people are not only taking a trip at the front end of summer there taking one at the end of the summer season as well. so i know we like just had the 4th of july, but kind
12:23 am
of looking ahead towards the you mentioned labor day. but even thanksgiving or christmas, were there any? >>lessons learned from how travel lent over this weekend that we can kind of used to help make smooth holiday travel. >>definitely, i think, you know, one of the big things is the way that airline schedule flights really kind of spreading out flights throughout the day. avoiding real clusters, peaking of flights. obviously there are more popular times a day, but the more that airlines kind of spread their flights throughout the course of a 16 hour dayton airport. more smoothly. everything runs and there were no issues for sfo over the holiday. local weather was good here. we did have some weather issues and other parts of the country that cause some delays and cancellations. and today, for example, we're seeing about a dozen flights to and from houston canceled as a result of the hurricane. so even though its summer season, we still have some weather issues and other parts of the u.s.. well as one of those 3 million people that traveled over the 4th of july through sfo.
