happening very much. a loft went through dry air. that's what the concern is right now. it shows up on radar very much. so you'll notice and it's still there, even though what kind of drifts away you get some of that daytime heating up around tahoe and so forth, you might pick up a stray shower, still left over. but by tomorrow, most of the should dry out. so we probably won't even see it lighting up the radar in the satellite picture here at the surface, we have our traditional onshore winds in place of the northwest. they seem to be favoring pretty much single digits temperature check for your pretty mild. 72 most readings in the 60's, some 50's off towards the coast. 65 san jose. but we compared to 24 hours ago to be up north, much warmer this morning. then it was this time from yesterday. forecast for today looks pretty good with a quick warm up for you. folks inland getting to the middle 90's. it looks like by the mid-afternoon a little bit of a break developing for you tomorrow. a little cooler in some better clearing for everybody. more on that weekend. forecast package coming up in a bit. stephanie. all thanks so much.

7:14 am
incredibly vibrant and bright during parts of the evening. there. these were snapped by our own news team. and today we know that you've been admiring these photos as can you what kelly him, one of our producers there, what could shot she has. yeah. >> good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. we've had this plume. we talked a little bit about this last weekend. it delivered this plume of subtropical moisture. coming up, the monsoon this time of year. it's still there in the rockies and all that. it's very typical in the southwest and whatever you'll see it and solve our maps. but some of that venture all the way on up. and when we watched it a little bit coming in, that's way up. the radar lit up. it was wonderful in that but very little bit of surface moisture came with that in terms of any rain little bit in some of the hills around the bay. just a little smidgen. more importantly, some light rain for the mountains. the big concern with all of this is when you get that elevated convict, convective activity that can sometimes be dry lightning because it has to go through a
7:15 am
lot of dry air to get there were left over with some leftover that moisture aloft. meanwhile, here is the typical marine layer that's at the surface. that's harmless. that's just damp, cold arctic air. that has to be warmed up to move a bit. all right. here's a look at our temperatures right now. 72 for antioch, a lot of 60's for the east bay up north 60's to 57 san francisco. these are a little bit warmer numbers that we saw this time from yesterday. 65 san jose. back to future cast for that moisture. still here, it kind of disappears a little bit with daytime heating and reappears up there around tahoe. so you might pick up that last minute stray shower elsewhere across the bay. we've got to keep a few little stray clouds in there just for good measure. sometimes they start start to whiten up the skies a little bit. but we're really running out of a lot of that moisture now. so again, just some puffy stratus, maybe with that. but here's the surface moisture coming back again for tonight. that marine layer not far from home in the sun sets fills up the bay. again, this is actually going to be a little more aggressive
7:16 am
tomorrow than today. mixing out nicely for the afternoon. the stratus is gone. little bit of leftover moisture. you can see out there towards the mountains, but not much. nothing major. and we're going to clear out of the home front. plus, we're going to be little cooler than today. not as hot. i guess i should say few folks inland to get a little bit of a breather. now, the other factor that's been good through everything we've talked about through all of this. i know some of these heat spikes and feel like it. but at least we've had some surface airman movement. that's really important. it's been modest and it will be today just a little bit of a breeze, little bit stronger tomorrow, too. but that onshore wind is good because we have this cold water here. and if you don't have any winds, you don't get into those benefits. so you got to have a little bit that flow pattern throws that marine layer moisture off inland there, too. so the breakdown of what we're talking about with all early clouds, hot, inland, 70's and 80's covered the bay 90's inland. maybe even mid 90's are we showed you on the temperature map. there are even higher than that tomorrow. a few bay clouds, a touch cooler. so we're getting the cooling effects in the wake of this little plume of moisture here
7:17 am
and all that 70's for the bay 80's 90's still inland. but more 80's, we're going to cease or take a little bit of a drop there recovering by tuesday. tuesday looks like the heat pump. as of now, no statements, not even at the sacramento valley. they may issue something later on that they try to keep a good 48 hours. 36 hours in advance. so you might start hearing about that in sacramento, potentially as we get into early next week. 69 for a high today will say san francisco variable clouds, mild. 76 oakland, 88 san jose. there's the big map to show this earlier. so getting kind of hot around the delta looks like you're in a pop near 100. that heat will be returned by tuesday. so keep in mind, what today does that's going to be your tuesday? probably close to 80's and 90's mixture up north mild temps for the peninsula. 69 san francisco gets up to bat with the good breeze at work. we have quite how are going on here with temperatures in the 90's. but a little drop happening on sunday. we'll hold on to that monday. but watch out tuesday, getting hot again for tuesday. okay. all right. we will brace ourselves. that's a one-day bump, though when they get better in the rest of the 7
