>>now from kron 4, the area's local news station. >>thanks for joining us. you're watching kron-on live on air and online. i'm stephanie rockman. we continue with breaking news out of napa. police are asking people to shelter in place due to police activity on set jefferson street. it's unknown what is happening right now. but jefferson is blocked between also number road and locust street. if you live in this area, you asked remain inside. everyone else should avoid the area. and of course, we're working on gathering more information about the situation and we will update you as new details come in. a string of shootings in the mission district of san francisco has people in the neighborhood concerned about their safety kron 4, sarah, since then spend time there talking with businesses and candidates running for supervisor in the district to learn more. >>leaders in the mission district tell me people who live and work in the neighborhood feel neglected, especially with all the

violent crime happening. they say not enough is being done to help keep them safe. another person has been killed in a shooting in san francisco's mission district. the latest happening early monday morning. >>this is the 4th shooting kron 4 has reported on within the last 2 weeks. another human life lost. >>because of the violence that's going on in our community or and raised in the mission. roberto hernandez is running for supervisor in this district. >>he's frustrated with recent violent crime and wants more police patrols. and as you see, there's a police car here. >>very soon believe. and as soon as they leave, it becomes a full blown on, you know, truck sales. don't being sold and people just could themselves and hurt people that live here. >>we need folks walking beats not only is it good for police community relations, but it discourages crime. trevor chandler is also running for supervisor in district 9.

>>i did not hear back in time for this report. i also reached out to sfpd to find out just how many beat officers they have in that neighborhood. they also didn't respond in time. >>i'm sara stinson reporting in san francisco. kron. 4 news. >>and just in the last hour, we heard back from jackie fielder, another candidate for district 9 supervisor. she says, quote, in the long term we need to scale up gun buy-back and violence prevention programs which were caught in the city's budget cycle and ensure we're using limited law enforcement resources like officer time wisely. it's been a few violent days in oakland after several people were injured in multiple shootings. the most recent shooting happened early this morning of the area of 8th and center streets in west oakland. police say 3 people were hospitalized. 2 of them were kids. one was an adult. police say they are in stable condition this evening. and meanwhile, 5 people are recovering after they were

shot at a sideshow yesterday morning. it happened on fruitvale avenue and international boulevard. not far from fruitvale bart station officers found 90 shell casings in that area. the 5 people are already reportedly in stable condition. 2 of them checked themselves into the hospital. it's not clear what led to the shooting, but an investigation is underway. a suspected drunk driver struck and killed a service officer with the san jose police department over the weekend. 34 year-old long tam pham was directing traffic around a car crash saturday night when he was hit and killed another at cso was injured in the crash and is expected to recover. the driver responsible was taken into custody at the scene. san jose police says that he has a prior arrest for dui as well. pam is being remembered tonight as a hero. >>the how much he wanted to protect the community. you

got with us. >>for all us says her heart is breaking for his family. she knew he was very close to his mother services for pham have not yet been announced. in the east bay. a jogger is struck and killed by suspected drunk driver who initially fled the scene in fremont. police say they responded to a call at a 40 sunday evening for reports of someone lying on the road and mission boulevard and nursery avenue. police believe that the victim was a jogger who was shock when a vehicle traveling north on mission shocked the curve and then hit the person. police say the driver, brian gutierrez allegedly ran away from the scene of the crash. but when called by police, he agreed to then turn himself in alcohol and speeding are both believed to be factors in this crash. but the investigation is still ongoing. the joggers name is being held until his family is notified. a jewelry store

there in san francisco was closed today after thieves ran off with their merchandise and parts of the store. this happened saturday around 06:30pm, inside of the stonestown galleria. several people. as you can see, they're wearing hooded sweatshirts, using hammers to smash display cases at kay jewelers and grabbing all the merchandise they could see there before taking off the san francisco police department is investigating this incident and has not made any arrests so far. and big changes are coming to san jose shoppers. santana row will now be charging people to park there. the move comes after years of free parking at the upscale shopping district and

after a a s e g brought the city of oakland share in the coliseum for 105 million. this new agreement with them still needs approval from the oakland city council and the county board of supervisors. an x, formerly known as twitter set to shut down its san francisco headquarters officially now over the next few weeks, according to airport for the new york times, the times cites an internal memo saying the company plans to move workers in the city to offices in san jose. the memo also says explans open up engineering, focus offices in palo alto.

>>a's have announced they have reached a deal to sell their share of oakland coliseum. the team is selling its share to the african american sports and entertainment group for 125 million dollars. kron 4 s charles clifford joins us now live with what the entertainment group has to say about the steel. thanks for joining us. >>well, good afternoon. you know, city of oakland, the oakland a's and alameda county shared ownership. the coliseum for decades. but it looks like they're all getting out of the sports entertainment business. and now one developer could be set to redevelop the site. monday, the african american sports and entertainment group or cg announced that they had reached 125 million dollar deal with the oakland a's. >>to buy out the team's ownership share in the coliseum, right, bob? it is the founder of a a s e g. >>the negotiations were very positive. and it allowed really this is the pathway that allows for the the

quickest way to development. a new chapter to the site. >>the oakland a's said in a statement on monday that a a s e g has a community oriented vision for the long-term development of the site and we'll be strong stewards of the property in 2019, the a's agreed to pay lme the county 85 million dollars to take over the county share of the coliseum. but this new agreement with a a s e g will still need approval from the board of supervisors as the county is still technically part owners of the coliseum. the deal with the a's also comes a week after scg finalize the terms of a 105 million dollar agreement to buy out the city of oakland share in the coliseum. if the deal with the a's goes through and the oakland city council approves the sale agreement, the entertainment group would become the sole owners of the coliseum site. in a statement, oakland mayor sheng thao said having one entity controlled the entire coliseum site will fast track much needed and deeply deserved development in

>>alameda county fire officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation and roddy. meanwhile, so she's hoping to stay in nearby motel she at least figures out a more permanent home. i'm sara stinson reporting kron. 4 news. >>we have some developing news out of sacramento where a woman is claiming discrimination after being kicked off a flight when the flight attendants mistook her rare skin to condition as something infectious. so here is nurse brianna solari. she says she boarded this southwest airlines plane in burbank when she was approached by a crew member who asked her to leave. she was returning home after flying to los angeles for a specialized surgery for tumors caused by a rare genetic condition. this condition causes non-cancerous tumors to grow all over the skin and nervous system. despite explaining her medical condition. so larry claims she then waited 5 hours before being placed on another flight.

target store in east palo alto is closing its doors next month store on bayshore road is a go-to store for many

county election officials are warning about a new scam was election season approaching. the scam involves text messages that ask about voter registration by providing a fake lake. the scam has been reported statewide. the contra costa county elections office is saying they are not contacting voters to confirm
