6:15 pm
to do it at the level we've had, you should have some players winning a super bowl would be a crowning career achievement for people like 13 year nfl veteran trent williams and 12 year veteran tayshaun gibson, neither of whom has previously played in the big game. >> to be here in this moment to get a win, man will be so huge, beyond huge. it's just to be a super bowl champ. uh, that's what it's about. that's what you play this game for. that's that's exactly what we signed up for. >> other players have been here before and come up empty. >> you don't know if you're ever going to get this opportunity again. so you absolutely have to take the most advantage of it. >> and for others it's a whole new experience. i know it's plenty more guys that this is probably their first time ever being this far in the playoffs. >> so i just feel like us as the younger guys, we owe this to them. >> it's been a blessing to, you know, have such a great supporting cast around me. um, obviously the keys weren't just given to me or anything. it had to be earned. and um, you know, i've come in in day one just obviously trying to learn kyle's system, his playbook, and earn
6:16 pm
the respect of my teammates. and then over time, i've i've been able to, you know, step into that role and be ready for my opportunity. >> dynasties are rare in pro football. a kansas city win would give that team a legitimate claim to that title. a 49ers win would validate some key player moves and a feeling that this is a san francisco team of destiny. there are two more player sessions tomorrow, and then on thursday, the coaches speak on friday. then it's all quiet until after the game. the 49ers are hoping that they're talking about a winning super bowl session. after that game, which will be number six in franchise history. but it's been a long time since they got that last one. the 1994 season, but there will be plenty of build up still to come as this week continues. guys. >> hey joe, what's your assessment of qb1 here, mr. brock purdy? i mean, he seems calm in that soundbite you played in your story there. he seems like he's taking in the moment enjoying it. but is he is
6:17 pm
he dialed in for the big game here on sunday? you think you know the thing that you always look at with people that are experiencing this for the first time, and you saw that with brock purdy, i think when you saw the close ups of his face during games, what i've never seen is kind of the panic, the deer in the headlights look in his eyes. >> he stays calm in all situations when he's not playing, particularly well or when he is playing well. he's kind of even keeled, and i think that's what the veteran players on that team really appreciate about him. and you know, mike, i don't think they could expect anything different from him on game day. he seems to rise to the occasion no matter how big the game seems like he's ready for the moment. >> yeah, the physical aspect and the mental aspect is so important. all right, joe, thank you. absolutely. you bet. >> all right. it really isn't a fun story. i mean, the brock purdy story, right? i mean, we know it. well, it's a legend, actually. if he can win a super bowl and be the last pick in the draft, i mean, it's amazing story. so exciting weekend ahead. weather is going to be okay. not too bad. tomorrow is going to be a little different.
6:18 pm
we're going to get some clouds in here a little shower activity perhaps some sprinkles, maybe a 10th of an inch for most of us, maybe a quarter of an inch for some of us. beautiful shot. i remember this shot from the other night. a couple of nights ago. we had those big wins and i was looking at these flags and it was just howling, like to the point those flags were sticking straight out, like they were in a hurricane. it was really impressive. so here's the model for tomorrow morning. so we click it up. let's get it to 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. so that's the system we're tracking. it looks pretty good. there's not much behind it. so that's why we're it's going to be kind of a kind of moves through pretty quick. so as you look at the next 9:00 talk about the tail end of the morning commute, you've got a situation where it's going to be raining or showering or sprinkling maybe a 10th of an inch, maybe a quarter of an inch, and then by about noon or 1:00, it's down into the south bay, and then it's gone by wednesday evening. so it's a quick moving system. it will drop a little bit of rain. it'll mess a little bit with the morning commute, especially in the north bay. and then after that we dry up. i'll be back
