south of market venue, but with the 49ers and the super bowl and the lunar new year also this weekend, many people are looking for bright and colorful arrangements to enhance their parties and gatherings. >> i think it just lends itself to an opportunity to decorate your house with something fresh and beautiful and a red and gold works. we've got a lot of it. we are all wishing the niners good luck. the city needs this. >> the flower mart says retailers are anticipating robust sales with a lot of preorders coming in and especially after a slow january, they gladly welcome this boost in business. alrighty we are just second swell now. >> not really. we're close to the weekend. we'll be there pretty soon. tomorrow is friday. the weather looks pretty good. it's going to get cold tonight. frost advisories. we'll talk about that and go looking for rain. >> all right. now to alex savage and a look at some of the stories we're working on for west coast. grab. coming up at

growing up, my parents wanted me to become a doctor or an engineer. those are good careers! but i chose a different path. first, as mayor and then in the legislature. i enshrined abortion rights in our california constitution. in the face of trump, i strengthened hate crime laws and lowered the costs for the middle class. now i'm running to bring the fight to congress. you were always stubborn. and on that note, i'm evan low, and i approve this message. four years of history behind it, but some super fans are putting decades of allegiance on the line, and the form of a friendly wager. new at six ktvu south bay reporter jesse gary spoke to the fans who say their fandom keeps them young. it's all right. >> let's.

>> days before the big game and a group of the game's most loyal , long suffering fans rallying for the red and gold. >> the first time i went to a niners game was at, uh, kezar stadium. and i joke that i still have splinters left in my, uh, behind at brookdale senior living in redwood city, decades long, 40 niners fans wearing their colors at a mid-afternoon happy hour in hopes of inspiring their team to a super bowl victory. >> yeah, this includes unofficial team captain 90 year old martha campana rooting for the niners since 71. >> my husband and my son went to raider games and they went and i thought, well, i'd like to know what this is all about. and we got the four tickets to go at candlestick. >> her marriage survived the gridiron split. martha developing a second lifelong love and obsession in the bears dolls pictures and posters reflect attendance at dozens of

games and five 49ers super bowls. >> third and ten montana. >> i like all the hoopla. i like all that stuff. you know, i enjoy going, but i enjoyed going to every game. >> even though on the twilight of their lives, the seniors here are up for a challenge, quite literally. hey similar aged chiefs fans in kansas city posting on facebook saying supporters of the losing team would have to share a congratulatory video to their rivals. >> we want the niners to win. go niners. >> it doesn't matter your age, you can be in a wheelchair, you can move your arms, you can move your legs a little bit. whatever it is, the more most important thing is moving. don't stop moving. >> three in and these fans say they'll never be too old to fully enjoy their team's quest for the ultimate football success. you know, my nurse in
6:49 pm
redwood city, jesse gary, ktvu, fox two news. all righty. >> coming into friday now, the weather is looking pretty good. let's do the long range thing that we do, the model and we'll take a look at seven days worth of potential weather. these models are pretty fat in terms of the grid size, which means they're not real resolved down to small small detail. they're more like, oh, big picture. so here we go. there's the ridge of high pressure. keeps everything to the north. there's saturday afternoon, there's some clouds at sunday afternoon. looks good. so right up to the weekend looks money. and then bam you get in here. now look at this guy out here. you think, okay, this is going to this is going to go off. but the high kind of breaks out high kind of shears it apart. and then behind it you go, oh look at that. that looks pretty good too. but it looks like this high pressure. these are these lines that are um, these lines right here that see that little bump and those blue lines. that's the high pressure. and it's kind of broad band of it too. so it might be enough to knock that thing, knock it in
6:50 pm
two or just knock it to the north. so we'll see. so what i just show you i showed you it looks like we're going to be dry for a while, certainly through the middle of next week. and maybe into the early part, maybe into the next weekend. we'll see. earlier models had gone off of that and been a little different. all right. and the last thing i'll tell you is when you meteorology talks about we talk about models. we don't say we don't we don't say we talk about guidance. we go, oh, these models are guidance. they're not resolute. they're not facts. so they're just like, okay, use this model and then use this model in conjunction. so i showed you one model out of an array of many that we would look at and go, okay, this is going to do i just like that one model because it's, it's uh, it's not my weather computer quite frankly. that's why i like it. but there's a lot of other ones too. these are the temperature departures from yesterday. this is the frost advisory that has been extended now north, south. so you got in inland bay valleys usually not around the bay, but that means scraping some ice in the morning on the windshields mostly above freezing. and again you get frost without on windshields for sure on surfaces
6:51 pm
above freezing, you can get frost at 38 degrees and the right humidity. so here are the forecast. cloud cover conditions for tomorrow or for friday morning. and then friday afternoon. that looks great. so friday's ridiculous. that's a great day. look at saturday. little fog in the valley. and saturday looks good too. and then sunday you'll see these clouds kind of start to push in inland. so the forecast highs tomorrow like today it's february. those are makes sense. you know the average temperature right now in february though is usually like upper 50s even some low 60s. sacramento's average temperature is 60 degrees this time of year. so these are the five day numbers. it looks pretty good. looks like something towards the middle end of next week. you guys enjoy the weekend. looks really nice. >> all right bill thank you. the oakland roots missed the playoffs by a single game last year. but the 2024 squad is back and better. a look ahead at the team's prospects this this year

6:56 pm
you guys will know the goal that i'm reaching for and hopefully it's a little higher. >> palo alto's paul blanchett was last year's usl save king, one of a handful of local roots who are forever staying true to their name. >> we make sure that everything we're doing is uplifting. oakland and it's about oakland first. always. it's about knowing your roots and where you come from and representing the city at the highest level. >> the roots open up the first to seven teen home games on march the 9th. it's a saturday night and all those games are played at cal state east bay in hayward. tickets are still available, but if you can't make the game, you can watch it on ktvu plus, with the roots here in alameda, i'm frank mallicoat, ktvu, fox two news. >> how about this a 49ers super bowl cheer off was recorded for social media today at locations around golden gate park. it was organized by the staff at the gardens of golden gate park. the cheer off was in response to a
