berkeley campus, prompting a shelter in place order. the 11:00 news on ktvu. >> fox two starts now, and one man has been arrested after firing nine shots at the direction of the cal campus. >> hello again everyone. >> i'm heather holmes and i'm greg lee, campus officials say no one was hurt. let's get right to ktvu. zac sos live near cal. zach, what have you learned tonight? >> yeah, and we're at the intersection of telegraph and bancroft. this is called sproul plaza. and it is not far from here where all this apparently unfolded. a early this evening. again, police with one person in custody. that person the apparent gunman. i'm going to step out of the way so you can get a better look. citizen video capturing all of this as it occurred. police taking one person into custody. the suspect arrested after allegedly firing nine shots. this evening here on the berkeley campus. this happened in the vicinity again of sproul plaza. that's according to a university spokesman here. around 840 this

evening, apparently, there had been some sort of an altercation . a weapon was produced, and that's when those shots were fired. no one thankfully injured this evening, an audience at zellerbach hall. they were told to shelter in place on campus. as this all unfolded. we spoke to a student who was having some dinner across the street at chipotle. he says. he was supposed to be in the building when those shots broke out. just thankful to be alive right now. >> i was actually supposed to be in the building that's up there when it happened. i could have been shot. i could have been dead. for all i know. and just lucky to be here right now. >> and that shelter in place lifted at around 950 this evening. again a details still coming in. we'll update you with any new information as we get it back to you. >> yeah, a really tense moment, no doubt there on the cal campus. all right. zac sos, thank you. and you can stay up

favorite. >> it's lumpias are i'm going at woodland tomorrow to my aunties and grabbing some frozen ones so we can cook them up on sunday. but a lot of snacks, a lot of burgers, a lot of barbecue. that's what i like. >> sergio, a clerk at piedmont grocery, told us folks are stocking up on the classics. >> definitely a lot of people that are buying like chips, like doritos, salsa, others like damon thompson, shared, he gets a kick out of planning his menu for the super bowl. >> a nice fruit tray, some wings, uh, some, um, chips, some soda, some dip. um, yeah. yeah, that's that's. yeah that's it. >> what's a good super bowl dessert? >> a good super bowl dessert. i like cheesecake i love cheesecake. you know you can't go wrong with cheesecake. strawberry preferably. or just the plain or you know you can't go wrong with cookies. you can't go wrong with brownies. and you can't go wrong with ice cream. so the cherry on top of any dessert this weekend will be the niners winning the big game.

>> folks are almost as excited about the food as they are about the game on sunday. everything from red velvet cupcakes to red hot wings. folks are getting ready for the super bowl. the greatest american food holiday of the year in alameda. alice wirtz ktvu, fox two news businesses in the south bay are getting ready for a rush of niners fans on sunday at the brit sports bar in san jose. >> signs are up around the bar promoting the super bowl. the owner, jasper singh, tells ktvu he's expecting a big crowd and as a result, singh says this week he increased his food and beverage order by 60% to make sure he's stocked up on food and alcohol. >> we were full for the nfc championship game and there was no place to stand, so i'm expecting the same crowd here. >> other restaurants such as straits at santana row are planning special super bowl menu items, and clothing stores are stocking up on all that niners gear. >> well, governor newsom is among the many 40 niners

keys has been cited at halftime rehearsals this week. >> well, usher is hoping to have a little bit more time there on the stage this sunday. the 45 year old artist says his super bowl halftime show will be longer than past shows. most artists are asked to condense their career's worth of music into about 13 minutes. usher, though, tells entertainment weekly we should expect his show to last around 15 minutes, saying this plan was a huge strategic thing that happened between himself and his agency. okay, one 49ers super fan from the sacramento area will be driving to the super bowl in style. adam beeman is showing off his luxury car that hit the road to vegas earlier today. he calls it the purdy. porsche. beeman says one car dealership in sacramento was happy to customize his car. it has those special decals that you see so he could pay tribute to his favorite 40 niner. the artist at the dealership worked long hours to get the car ready in time for super bowl sunday. >> looks good. san francisco's

say that 25 year old ezra wamani brought the two girls, aged 11 and 15, to seattle and forced them to try to solicit prostitution. when that planned, that didn't work as planned. police say he then abandoned them on the side of the road. investigators say he met the girls on instagram and snapchat chat, initially collecting with the young girls over the topic of makeup routines. >> this goes quick when you leave a location, you leave home, you leave that safe space that you're in and you get into a car. you don't know where you're going and what's going to happen in 48 hours. many things can happen. >> police in bellevue received a call from authorities in oregon, leading to the girls being returned to their families. the suspect being held on $500,000 bail. police believe that there could be more victims. >> shifting gears here now in las vegas, three diehard football fans intend to keep up their tradition of attending every super bowl game. the trio of friends have been meeting up

we definitely the brakes. and also we're looking out toward vegas as well for the big super bowl game right now in case you're wondering, it's 43 degrees in las vegas. and as we head into your saturday, it will be sunny, but also windy. we could have winds going up above 25 miles an hour. and then on super bowl sunday will be a sunny day with temperatures approaching the mid 50s. back here in the bay area tomorrow morning, a cold start, but lots of sunshine into the afternoon hours. and then on sunday we're going to bring in some more clouds. no rain threat out there, but definitely some clouds to start things off, especially for your sunday morning. here's a satellite. the big view in the pacific and you can see the main jet stream. the main storm track is out here for us right now. we have clear to partly cloudy skies for your friday night and current numbers. it's a cool one out there. santa rosa, 41 degrees oakland 46, fremont in the mid 40s. so lots of 40s and the

coolest locations. tomorrow morning will be in the 30s. here's our live camera tonight looking above san francisco, where you can see the nice 49ers colors here. showing up on some of the buildings and it's a quiet weather pattern, but a cold one as well. so definitely want to bundle up first thing tomorrow morning. 30s and 40s and the possibility of some patchy frost as some cold air continues to move in from the north to start off your weekend. but there's an area of high pressure offshore. this pushes the storm track up to our north, so it's a dry weekend. but next week we could be talking about a pattern change and especially about a week from today, those rain chances could really be going up. here's the forecast model tomorrow for your saturday. mostly sunny skies, a little bit warmer actually. compared to today's highs. here's the cloud cover i was talking about. this is sunday morning, 8 a.m. and then this is sunday afternoon, 4:00. so partly sunny skies for your sunday afternoon. but the umbrellas get a break this weekend. highs for tomorrow after that cold start will be in the upper 50s to the lower 60s. so tomorrow should be just a little bit warmer than today.

and here's a look ahead. your five day forecast. we're looking just great over the next couple of days and even into early next week. by wednesday we bring in some more clouds and then beyond wednesday, those rain chances could really be going up. so it's you know, it's been so active over the past a week or so, it's nice to get a break, but eventually prepare for some more rain. okay. yeah. >> we'll do. thank you mark. we'll new at 11 tonight. the governor's office is sharing the numbers on just how much water the state plans to collect from all of our recent storms. newsom's office posting this today saying the 7 million gallons collected in los angeles so far could serve more than 250,000 los angeles residents. the office also says california has invested $1 billion into recharging recycled water and stormwater capture projects. california has secured more than $20 million in federal funds to support salmon fisheries, years of drought, wildfires and other environmental factors have resulted in some of the lowest ocean salmon stocks on record. the money could be used for fishery related infrastructure

projects and habitat restoration . then governor newsom says the money will bring much needed relief for fishing communities and tribal nations. >> fairfield police shared this photo from recent drug busts. they say they were performing an equipment violation traffic stop on february eighth, when they sensed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. after learning both the driver and passenger were under 21 years old, they searched the car and say they found an ar pistol, a handgun, and this suspected mdma, psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana. the two men have been booked at solano county jail on drug and weapons related charges . >> all right. here's a look now at some of the stories trending tonight on ktvu.com. and one of our top stories, a group of pg and e workers targeted by thieves. they broke into the employee's vehicle as they were about to pull into a garage in oakland. the alameda county da has filed additional charges against the three men accused of killing a security guard back in 2021, and 40 niners wide receiver deebo samuel giving his
