air quality that i missed back in the bay area. so hopefully we can get through it all the way to monday. i'm sure we will. we'll be fine. uh, but yes, this is the day that things are really going to start to pick up in terms of parties, rallies, tailgates. all of these events are scheduled for today. in fact, right behind us here. hard rock cafe, right on the strip. this is going to be the site of a massive party. it's the big game faithful rally. hundreds of 49ers fans are expected to be here as well as 49ers great joe montana, scheduled to make an appearance this afternoon. this part is around 1 to 7 all day long, and we know some fans are already going to be there. take a look at some of the video. this couple we met will be at the rally today at hard rock cafe this is wally walsh and his wife. they're from healdsburg. they're 49ers season ticket holders. he makes these blinged out helmets and he wears in a chain around his neck. he also wears a helmet blinged out. he's even made one for jerry rice. and so we asked him, okay, are you here just for the excitement in the atmosphere? he goes, no, i don't want to see any tourist

7:41 am
>> yeah, so people are very pumped up about the super bowl. and when we talk to people, they are just so excited for tomorrow , right? like you can imagine the anticipation. it's like they're children on christmas when you're talking to them and interviewing them, they're saying this is the niners time. they are so ready for this big game. so again, the big, big game faithful rally for niners fans happening here at hard rock cafe. 1:00 in the afternoon to 7 p.m. at night. it's only a handful of the many tailgates happening across the strips. and so you think, okay, well, what's on the menu to eat, to tailgate? i'm going to have that coming up in the next hour with guy fieri's vegas kitchen and bar. we talked to the hotel kitchen there. they gave us some video and we'll we'll see you guys back in about an hour. >> i like the sound of that. >> yeah, i got to ask you, you know, the week is the big build up. but by saturday you're so close to la. all the people go to vegas anyways. and now that this party is going on, i bet you got a half a million people that aren't even going to the game that just want to hang out
7:42 am
right? >> yeah. no, that is absolutely true. we've met people too. that had tickets to go to the concert . you'll hear from them to the u2 concert at the sphere. i mean, they they said, oh, we didn't even realize that the super bowl weekend coincided with the same weekend that we're going to this concert. so many people are here in town. it's insane. i believe it's 400,000 people that are here for this weekend. whether or not they have tickets to the super bowl, it is massively. it's packed. it is a massive party and it's really insane. i will say that. >> i'll ask you one quick thing, christina. i mean, we had a lot of rain that came through the bay area that obviously eventually makes its way into nevada when vegas floods, it floods for days here. how's the weather been out there? have you been noticing a lot of rain? has that been a trouble at all, or have. has it not really been a problem? >> you know, it was raining so about a week ago. it is cold. okay. so a week ago it was raining on sunday, on monday, on tuesday it rained when we flew in on wednesday. and then after that thursday, friday and today have been dry. but if you drive underneath a parking lot or i guess the casinos where the
7:43 am
parking garages are, you'll notice flooding down there in the parking garages that are beneath the ground. so that's pretty interesting. and in terms of the cold, i did not expect it to be this cold. i've only ever visited vegas in the summer when it's hot and sticky, and i cannot take this red coat off. i want to show off these amazing outfits. yeah, not going to happen. i need to stay warm. yeah, you should. >> you're doing a great job down there and it's a lot of work. we know, but thanks for bringing it home for us. >> yeah, having some fun out there. christina rendon coming to us live from las vegas. we appreciate you. all right, well, stay with us all weekend long ahead of the super bowl. our coverage continues tomorrow. we'll have the quest for six live in las vegas starting at 9 a.m. and at noon, just hours before kickoff will be airing. the quest for six countdown to kick off. but let's go, niners. and we're going to keep the momentum all the way up to the super bowl all morning long. >> more niners coming up at 8:00. how sfo saw an influx of

this week. ticket prices to go to the big game slol a little bit of a slight drop, but they are definitely still not cheap. standing in about the $8,000 range here. talk to us more about these record setting prices. we're joined by senior brand manager at tickpick, kyle zoran kyle, good morning to you. thank you so much for joining us here. $8,000. compare that price to maybe the last five super bowls. where are we standing? >> yes, we're seeing record prices right now. so just give it some context. last year the get in price is around $6,500. when the matchup was set come the weekend of the game, the get in price is around $4,000. right now, the getting price is around $7,800. just to give you some context of how extreme these prices are this year, we say that right. >> you know, we use words like extreme, team, crazy, massive. you know, numbers. right. but people are still buying these tickets, right? >> yeah. no for sure. it's i think from the initial offset transactions were slower than they were historically. just
7:48 am
given how high these prices were. but as the weeks progressed, uh, transaction uh, picked up and ultimately the prices did as well. uh, there's still a good amount of tickets available this weekend, and we expect today to be a big day. so the getting price right now is 7700. but if that purchasing activity really spikes up, you might see prices increase as we get to, uh, kick off in the next 24 hours. is there a trick to this at all? >> kyle? i mean, you know, can can people wait until kickoff off and then see these tickets drop a bunch? could they wait till halftime even, you know, is there a way to get in there without breaking the bank? yeah i think that's the hardest answer is how to predict where these prices are going to go every year. >> uh, this year is certainly been unique in how prices have trended up. uh, generally prices, uh, drop leading up to the game. um, but yes, we've certainly had fans purchase tickets all the way up until kickoff, sometimes even into the first quarter, and gotten some really good deals. i would say if you are looking to purchase today, this morning might be the best time to buy. uh, i know prices are extremely high, but
7:49 am
if that, as i said, if prices if transactions do pick up, uh, you might see those prices increase as well. >> so i'm going to ask you, if you had $7,000 to spend, what would you spend it on? >> uh, well, i'm a ravens fan, so my heart was broken a few weeks ago. i was, um. but yeah. no, i it's, um. it is certainly a extremely high ticket price. i don't know, it's obviously you have to make a very conscious decision. it's the whether or not you want to make this purchase. but, uh. yeah, i was looking into it, though, a few weeks ago. >> you know, we talk about, uh, this $7,000, $8,000 price tag. that's just to get to the game. that could easily be like a nosebleed seat. we also had that story of, uh, christian mccaffrey's family buying this suite that cost them well over $2.5 million here. so say you're getting the, like, most expensive treatment. what's the price tag looking there? yeah >> so if you're looking for lower level tickets near the 50 yard line, um, you're looking at a ticket anywhere from 15 to
7:50 am
$20,000. it took in the 200 level. it's going for around 8 to $11,000. if you did want a sweet ticket in the 200 level, that's probably around 2520 $7,000 per ticket. um, so yeah, these prices are extremely high. and yeah, if you wanted the lower level ticket, they only get more expensive. again people buy them, people pay for it. >> kyle zimmerman tickpick we appreciate you joining us this morning. thank you so much. time now it is 749 750 right around there. let's send it over to rosemary, who's got a look at our weather for today. all right. >> we've got a nice weather forecast coming our way. we do have another chilly start this morning. we do not have advisories for frost out there, with one exception. it's on the eastern edge of the santa clara valley. so not a lot of trouble when it comes to frost and the possibility thereof. here's a look at at the golden gate bridge. wow beautiful one out there. we do have mostly clear skies and just a little bit of a breeze in some areas. generally

8:39 am
>> i mean it is incredible to see the amount of fans that have traveled here to las vegas to support the niners. they outnumber the chiefs. i would say maybe 20 to 1. maybe that's an exaggeration, but that's what it really feels like. i mean, you see all of these red jerseys and you look closely. they are not chiefs jerseys. they are absolutely niners jerseys. and we've been saying it all week. stubhub had been saying, you know, the majority of tickets that they've sold have been out of california, not necessarily out of kansas or missouri. so well represented at super bowl 58. the niners faithful showing up you know and it's crazy. >> just five years ago nfl was like we don't want anything to do with vegas. now they're hosting the super bowl for the first time. and it is just a huge scene. cristina rendon coming to us live from las vegas. we appreciate you don't have too much fun out there christina. yeah. >> go eat. >> all right. time now. 839 this morning, bay area bars are, of course, preparing to host crowds of people on super bowl sunday. >> so exciting. you know, we're ready for 49ers the yeti sports

anniversary all the way through, all of your fun corporate events, super bowl championship, yes, we have definitely done our fair share of super bowl parties , and we have brought a spread for you today and for us. what we're going to work on are some fun, easy, easy to do. don't worry about this chicken wings, because they're all sold out pigs in a blanket. >> okay, so we're going to work here. >> so let me take the weight off a little bit. >> let's get this started. so pigs on a blanket. >> we've got some puff pastry laid out here. what are what are the steps. >> all right. so the big thing is that because puff pastry is a laminated dough, you want to make sure that your oven is ready before you're ready to throw everything in. so 400 degrees, get it preheated, nice and hot. if you throw the pigs in or any puff pastry for that matter, into an oven that's still warming, all the butter is going to leach out. you're not going to get that beautiful flaky puff ness that you're looking for from your pastry. okay, so here you're going to just make sure that you cut up your your sheet of puff pastry into little rectangles like we have here already for you. and we're just going to go ahead and
8:48 am
dust the bottom of our puff. just to make sure that it doesn't stick to our parchment paper bottom. okay. yeah and the great thing about this recipe is that it's easy to find everything in the grocery store kind of ready to go. you're going to grab your little smokies or your sausages, hot dogs, whatever you want to do for the interior. your puff pastry and the freezer section. and you're good to go and easy grocery ship. exactly. so if you want to go ahead, james and whisk up that egg, we're going to do a little bit of an egg wash here to make sure that we can seal our pigs at the end of the day. and this is part of the reason why i love this recipe. like it's a no brainer. five minutes in the grocery store, ten minutes to put it together and then 20. and it's a fan favorite. >> everyone loves a pig in a race. >> you can't you cannot go wrong with this guy unless you're a vegetarian. but hey, they make vegan. >> we don't invite vegetarians to the super bowl party. >> well, they do make vegan puff pastry and they do make, um, wonderful, like vegetarian vegan sausages now so everyone can participate. all right. so
8:49 am
you're just going to brush the end here just to make sure that everything sticks at the end of the day. and then we'll go ahead and take our little little smokies here. and we're just going to line them up and get them rolling into our puff here. >> and is this just you know, a recipe you found, a recipe you came up with like, this seems pretty simple and straightforward. >> yeah. so the great thing about this is that i have a wonderful team at salt and honey , and our pastry chef developed this for us as one of our easy go to appetizers that you can order for pickup or drop off services. >> okay, right on. >> so this is something we use in our own, um in our own repertoire as it were. >> so what does super bowl weekend usually look like for you all? >> well, i have a wonderful multicultural family and right now it's still dungeness crab season. >> and so we're doing chili crab
8:50 am
tomorrow. >> i love that i cannot wait, it's gonna be so good. all right . >> we've got these all rolled up here. pretty perfect if you ask me. >> i think you're doing a fantastic job. >> so egging it up again. yeah >> we'll go ahead and do a nice little egg wash here on the top just to make sure that our garnish is sticking. and we're opting today to do a little bit of maldon and some black and white sesame seeds okay. so if you want to go ahead and slide those on over we can just go ahead and top your eggs. go ahead and top yours i'm going to top mine with a little bit of each of these okay. and then we'll also go ahead and use that flaky salt because you know we got a we got a fancy okay. fancy it up just a little i don't know. >> am i doing it right. >> am i like working on it. >> all right. >> trying to hear okay. >> yeah. i mean, just have fun with it. right. this is game day food. it's about having fun in the kitchen. it's not taking anything too seriously. >> totally. >> you know, and if it were my kitchen, we'd probably have a glass of wine in there, too.
8:51 am
