>> ktvu fox two news at five starts now. >> fire grounds at the deputies. they returned fire. the suspect got back in his vehicle and fled again. >> an overnight chase and shootout in sonoma county results in deputies injured and aúsuspect dead in this all started and nightclub.d evening everyone. i'm mike mibach and i'm julie julie haener, the suspect in that case was killed near santa rosa. >> our crime reporter, henry lee the details on what happened.ith henry >> julie, we're on stony point s left of a fence behind me at the end of the chaotic shootout lede death ofc a suspect who was armc with a high powered rifle and injury to four sheriff's deputies. candles marked the spot where a suspect died after wild gun battle and chase with sonoma county sheriff's deputies. it all began just after midnight when deputies responded to reports of a man

brandishing a rifle at a restaurant at stony point and todd road that doubles as a nightclub on weekends. as deputies arrived, the man took off in a white car. a short while later, a deputy reported that he was behind the car and let's. the minute after that, the deputy yelled in his radio shots fired! after the suspect opened fire with a high powered rifle fired rounds at the deputies, they returned fire. >> the suspect got back in his,e man continued driving and led deputiesúon a chase north on stony point. >> the suspect fired at least a second time at deputiesc before crashing on stony point near butler avenue. he died, but it's result of being shot or being hurt in the crash, or some combination of both. at least one sheriff's patrol car crashed into this fence outside a home hours later. two damaged sheriff's cars were towed from the area. investigators spent hours at several crime scenes documenting evidence with a chaotic, dynamic crime scene like this that spans multiple locations with multiple deputies involved.

have any info on his past at this time. tonight in sonoma county., live- thank you. all right, turning now to our weather and that blizzard in the sierra. >> this video comes from the uc berkeley central sierra snowt& six feet of snow from this than latest storm, and says the statewide snow water equivalent, now 104%úof normal. our chief meteorologist, bill martin, joins us now with a look at som& of those snow totals. bill, just a massive amount of snow coming down. and julie over of course 3 or 4 days blizzard warnings in effect for the lake tahoe area highways closed 50 and 80 on and off. really throughout the day yesterday. still some snow flurries up there now after well, more than after microphones off. there after more than easily more than 6 to 7 to evenúnine feet recorded in some places up around lake tahoe. so the snow very aggressive, 5 to 10ft. i haven't found ten feet yet. one of up there was the wind. it was howling. and when the winds blow like that and the snow is so light

big storm, big snow, big impact. the snowpack is back. close since friday, palisades tahoe got eight feet of snow during the storm. >> it's a behemoth of a snowstorm, but our crews are ready. they've been out there working day and night. >> sunday, there were mountain top winds of 190 miles an hour. the highest reaches of hurricane category. >> today we have part ofúour lower mountain palisades open and some lifts on the alpine side open. there is still so much work to be done with the spstorm palisades already called the spring skiing capital, will be open until very late in may. there is always potential to get that pushed. last year, with 723in of snow, we skied until the 4th of july road wise, highway 50 is open. >> interstate 80 opened early monday for automobiles only. big

christian captain. live tonight in the city. christian. the district now looking at consolidate. getting even closing some schools here. >> yeah the district says with declining enrollment, it may have to take those steps to better serve the remaining students. san francisco unified schools finds itselfúat a crossroads as the district is facing a structural budget crisis. at the same time, enrollment is dropping. the district now serves about 49,000 students, down from about 53,000 a decade ago. fewer. superintendent matt wayne says those realities need to be met headúon, and that means beginning the process of closing and consolidating some schools. >> we're looking at the way we staff central office, our school programs, our facilities, and also our school portfolio. and we're recognizing we to have a school, new school portfolio meet our goals for student outcomes. >> at this point, the district
