or rebound jobs that came back from the trade 2 million we lost in covid-19. you got to factor that into the conversation. when it comes to how people are feeling about how they're doing, the ap looked at it and looked at prices and talked about where we are with food and gasping at. many people depleted their savings the last couple years of inflation. credit card debt is at an all-time high. they note that everything can go on a creditor. medium but for a property that is safer up to 2 bedrooms has jumped from over 1400 to more than 1700 at the end of the year. you've got the higher gas prices, food prices, rent over 300 a-month which is thousands a year. we ask people to have more money in your pocket versus last year, 57% told us they have less. they tell us they're not doing well and their families are doing well. looking at the data and people's experience's experience factor utilities americans they are wrong about their own personal financial situations? >> there are a lot of things in the question so i'll try to take

them in order. first of all the idea of how the economy rebounded from covid-19. let me be clear unemployment is lower than it was even before covid-19. stock market is higher than it was and job creation is faster than it was even before covid-19. no matter what rebound effects are talking about, these are economic results that haven't happened since before i was -- i was born. in terms of cost, it's been a major issue. it's been a major issue in every wealthy country. this is an example of something largely effected by covid-19. but i think there's a reason why inflation in the u.s. is lower than it is in any of the g-7 countries. >> that's actually not true. not accorded to the washington post they said japan, italy and germany had lower inflation rates. italy is under 1% spin can might of been a different time period but i'm telling you if you look at the overall time period when it was toughest hour rate was better and i would have right now, wages are going up faster than prices. that means after inflation you're coming out ahead. >> shannon: for 2 years that wasn't true.

>> we had a tough bout of inflation. that's why president biden is trying to lower cost. congressional republicans were against him when he worked to cut insulin to $35 a month for seniors. right now fact especially for families pressed on cost, we could have insulin capped at $35 a month for everybody not just for seniors. all it would take is if you congressional republicans to walk away from agreeing with big pharma and start to agree with president biden. that's not the only cost he will cut. he was in the house and the state of the union speech calling for an across-the-board 2000-dollar out-of-pocket cap. something else that would help in a country where people are feeling the pinch of those prices that went up with post covid-19 inflation. congressional republicans are standing in the way but he will keep pushing. he's tried to get rid of junk fees take no credit card companies because we know those are something that affects the cost of living. something else that comes into play along said the cost of housing is the cost of
