residents still in shock. a man shot andúkilled by police in the middle of a mobile home park. longtime community members say they are distraught by what they saw. >> i was born here and i've lived my 38 years here in sunnyvale, and i had never seen something like that. >> officers say a young man was& wielding a knife in that park. what happened next is now being disputed by police and witnesses. good evening. i'm julie julie haener >> the encounter happened at the plaza del rey mobile home parkc in sunnyvale. neighbors say the man with a knife was a 19 year tonight in sunnyvale with theve story zach. >> yeah, and so far, police only

releasing limited details. but today the sunnyvale police union coming out and calling the shooting justified an act of self-defense. meantime, several neighbors i spoke to who witnessed all of this say it appeared that the victim may have been suffering a mental health crisis. >> heartbreaking. i have never seen something like that. >> a woman who asked not to appear on camera, still shaken e shoot and kill a man armed with a knife just steps from her home on saturday. she says the victim was her neighbor's 19 year old son. >> i put myself in his mom's position and it's heartbreaking. he was on medication and she didn't understand why this happened. we saw the gentleman walking down the street with the knife in hisúhand. he wasngt screaming or bothering anyone. police say they were called to the plaza del rey mobile home park on vienna drive around 530 in the evening. knife, don't move forward. but

learn the identity of the victim, expected to be released medical examiner's officel as is protocol with police involved shootings. a investigation is now underway, in part sos zach.. oakland homicide investigators right now are searching for clues in a shooting at a gas station that left one womant& dead. it happened early yesterday morning at the quick serve gas station on east 12th street. and that location has been the site of several shootings in recent years. the victim's name has not been released, and so far no word of any arrests. police in oakland also investigating a shooting that injured three people. this happened at a homeless encampment on 47th avenue, right near east 12th street. police to the hospital and at lastaken check were say the victims and the shooter had been arguing, but did not say if any arrests have been made. anyone with information on this case is

action today to rescue a stranded hiker. it happened this morning when officers received a report of an injured hiker on the mission peak trail in fremont. fremont firefighters were having a tough time reaching the woman because of the muddy conditions out there. so the chp used its h-30 helicopter to find the injured woman. officers then hoisted her into the air before taking her to an the hiker was then taken & the hospital to be. >> east bay congressman mark desaulnier will host on refinery tomorrow night. this follows a number of recent flare ups and other incidents at refineries in contra costa county that have raised concerns about public safety. the town hall meeting is scheduled for v30 at john muir elementary school in martinez. sp>> realtors are predicting a comeback for condos in san francisco. condo prices are still far below pre-pandemic levels, but many realtors say the market has hit bottom and prices are starting to creep up. data from compass shows the median price for a condo in the city rose by about 5.6% from

a long delay due to a mechanical issue. that passenger told us fo aspen was scheduled to depart at 4 p.mn on friday, but it was delayed 16 hours until the next morning due to issues with the braking system. the flight was then in the morning, the planes, eventually landed in aspen, where it then sat on the tarmac for more than an hour before passengers could de-plane in a

being felt here in the united states. officials say the number of 2024 cases in america is already higher than what was recorded all of last year. it's mostly affecting children 12 months and older who are unvaccinated, but doctors advise getting the shot to help keep youúand your kids public health officials are warning people who went to the sons of liberty alehouse in downtown san leandro recently. the health department says customers may have been exposed to measles, ktvu allie rasmus has more on where and exactly when customersc may have been at risk. >> if you dined, worked or even restaurant between 4 and 7 in the evening, saturday, march 9th, alameda county public health officials say you may have been exposed to someone with measles, a highly contagious airborne virus. >> it's extremely dangerous, which is why it's a mandatory

vaccination in as a requisite to go into daycares and schools and things like that, so we take it very seriously and it can be fatal. >> most people in the u.s. are vaccinated against measles, but babies can't get the vaccine until they're about a year old. so being exposed to this is particularly dangerous for families with infants. alameda county public health officials want to hear from you. if you were exposed and fall in one of the following categories. you're the parent of an infant 11 months or younger. you're unsure of your measles vaccination or haven't been vaccinated. you're pregnant. a health care worker ñ> if you're vaccinated, you're safe, but the concern is wet& don't know who isn't vaccinated or not. it's becoming so alarming because we didn't think we had to worry about this anymore. i'm concerned that it could suggest that people are startingc to be wary of vaccination, given our recent pandemic. >> the centers for disease control says there have been 58 cases of measles reported nationwide so far this year. that's more than the number of cases in all of 2023. >> measles
