powerball .com site, and good luck. christina. yeah really interesting to see what powerball is going to say about this. >> hopefully everything is on the up and up and they figure out what's going on and draw those numbers. man, all of us thinking about what we do with that money. zach. thank you. new at ten. the cause of an afternoon fire in san francisco is now under investigation. around 4:00, firefighters were called to the area of kansas and 19th in the potrero hill neighborhood. their crews found smoke billowing from a multi story home. firefighters were eventually able to put out the flames. the fire department says no one was hurt, but two people are now displaced. crews say the home is no longer habitable. the chp today put out an alert about two missing children out of the south bay. the highway patrol issued an endangered missing advisory this morning for nine year-old daniel wu and four year-old david wu. they are believed to be with taylor wu pictured here on your screen. authorities say the boys were taken by taylor from a home in mountain view around 130 this morning. she was seen driving a blue 2018 ford escape with a

missouri license plate. the chp says the boys could be in santa clara county or los angeles county. anyone with information is asked to call 911. we have an update to a deadly shooting case in the mission district today. san francisco police announced they've made an arrest in connection to that shooting. officers say it happened friday afternoon on mission street near 20th, in front of a barbershop where the victim had just started a job that day, 30 year old alexander martinez of richmond was arrested and booked into san francisco jail. investigators have not released any more information on the case and say it remains an open investigation. we have new information on a bus crashtoghte merritt. this crash happened at international boulevard and third avenue at about 630 lastnn the middle of the intersecon. oakland police are now confirming that they suspect alcohol played a part in the crash. police say the driver of the car was taken into custody. citizen app footage here showing several emergency response vehicles at the scene, with the bus stopped in the middle of the

street. police say the driver of the car ran a stop sign and hit the ac transit tempo bus with roughly 40 people on board. authorities say both drivers, as well as several passengers, were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. an oakland based organization hosted several cleanup initiatives around the bay area. today, community ready corps, known as crc, runs the positive pull up initiative. a group of volunteers picked a neighborhood to promote cleaner and safer neighborhoods. tomorrow, crc is organizing several street cleanups around san francisco, oakland, pittsburg, and antioch. the group is also providing free food and prizes. elected leaders in the south bay are hearing from the public on how to address inequality in the communities today. state senator dave cortese held a town hall in san jose focused on racial justice and poverty. cortese says he was inspired to hold today's event after learning about a san jose state study that san jose leads the nation in youth homelessness. several people were on the panel, including democratic state

assembly member ash kalra. a light earthquake rattled parts of the etoday. a magnitude 3.4 quake hit this morning at 1114. it wasented three kilome stheast of ar the claremont hotel. thenue usgs says the quake had a depth of 5.8 miles. there were no reports of any damages on the east coast. more aftershocks are expected following a magnitude 4.8 quake yesterday. that earthquake was centered in new jersey, and millions of people felt it in new york city, philadelphia and around the northeast. it was followed by dozens of aftershocks, including a magnitude 3.8 quake later that day. scientists say that earthquakes on the east coast are rare, but not unheard of. well, university of san francisco will discontinue its men's and women's tennis programs at the end of the current season. the university made the announcement friday stating athletes can move to a different school or choose to stay at usf, where any scholarship commitments will be honored. the athletic director

says even with only 16 players and four coaches, the programs cost the university more than $1 million a year. usf says this hard decision was made as the university tries to cut down on costs due to enrollment shortfalls based ball players with dreams of making it to the minors got their shot today. the oakland ballers, holding open tryouts at laney college as the team built its roster as ktvu. james torres reports, the tryouts drew dozens of hopefuls from all over the state, some stretches and warm ups before nearly 60 baseball hopefuls hope to fill six spots. >> it's a new opportunity for the city and for baseball players in the bay area. >> the oakland ballers are the new professional baseball team in town in oakland, playing in the pioneer league. open tryouts means an opportunity for bay area ballplayers to represent their hometown town. >> it means baseball. staying in oakland, since i was a kid watching the a's, being able to have professional baseball out here is great for the community.

many people right here in the bay area. although our region will only see part of the eclipse. ktvu bailey o'carroll explains how we can make the most of the rare experience. >> how could you miss this? is there not going to happen again until, what, 2045? you got to do it. >> millions of americans will look to the skies on monday as the eclipse becomes visible. a total solar eclipse will cross into texas and stretch across 14 other states. it will likely be the us's biggest eclipse audience as 44 million people live along the path of totality. so what will it look like? >> it's pretty dramatic in terms of what you actually see, and it's not, as i said, not pitch black. it's a very eerie experience, though, because the light is very strange and your

eyes have adapted in a strange way to that twilight. every seems a little bit purplish. the shadows before you get to eclipse are strange. that your fingers make elongated shadows, but you can see little crescents of the eclipse in between the leaves of a tree. >> but even if you don't live along that path, nearly everyone else will see a partial eclipse here in the bay area. there will be one of about 35. that's exactly what brought pat borns and kathy keller to san francisco as they hunted for glasses to take in the spectacle. >> we are running around the city asking everybody, do you have the solar eclipse glasses? and people were just treating us like we're crazy. and so finally we came down here and there's a basket right out front, right out front of the store. we walked in. we're like, this is exactly what we need. >> in fact, the two say they're already looking forward to the next eclipse 20 years from now. >> when it comes back again, i think i'm going to be 94 and you'll be 84. yeah we're planning on it then, too. >> experts say solar eclipses are more common than people

rains, and caltrans closed about 40 miles of road as a result, stranding more than 1000 tourists and residents in the carmel area. convoy helped some people to leave, but wet weather forced authorities to halt the operation. we're learning new information about a car that plunged into a canal in bay point. it happened shortly after 9:00 last night on virginia drive near highway four. firefighters say a speeding car left highway four, then raced down bailey road before going into the canal. the car floated nearly 100 yards before getting stuck in the water. firefighters pulled at least one person out of the car and rushed them to a nearby hospital. that person's condition is unknown tonight. investigators say it's still not clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash. >> what a lovely day across the bay area today. sure, we saw increasing clouds and sure it was cool with temperatures well below average for this time of the year, but it was dry. temperatures topped off from 55 in pacifica to 62 degrees. that

was our outside number in santa rosa, vallejo. also right there in san jose, through cupertino and campbell backing through willow glen. now this is our live weather camera looking out toward city hall this evening here. and we do have a mostly cloudy sky, but boy, visibility is unlimited. we have temperatures currently at 47 degrees to the north and santa rosa 48 to the east, and walnut creek 48 also in san francisco though, and also in the mid 40s in east palo alto, as well as palo alto, now as we take a look at the winds, they are generally up to about 13mph at oakland international airport. these winds have been subsiding. they've been backing off. they will die down out of the southwest about 10 to 15 overnight with increasing cloud cover. 14 mile per hour wind right now at sfo. and that's a westerly. now this is a brand new cold frontier. yes. another system. it's already providing some precipitation right there

city. while that's a spike for the company, it is still far below public transit and uber and lyft. tesla is getting ready to roll out its version of a robo taxi this summer. elon musk made the announcement on x, formerly known as twitter. he posted a brief six word statement yesterday saying, quote, tesla robotaxi unveil on august 8th. his cryptic message contained no other details on his plans to get into the robo taxi business, but it's not the first time he's made this type of announcement. back in 2019, he said he expected tesla to be operating a robo taxi service by 2020. in the north bay, children who are blind and visually impaired were treated to an annual easter themed event. take a look. this cookie decorating tactile activity, one of the many arts and crafts options at the spring celebration put on by the lighthouse for the blind and guide dogs for the blind, children were able to pet guide dogs while parents learned about guide dog services and programs. and you can hear there those eggs are beeping. this egg hunt made it easier for the children to find them in the grass with

>> we're going to move heaven and earth to rebuild this bridge as rapidly as humanly possible, and we're going to do so with union labor and american steel. here we are. >> two channels are currently open, most for ships clearing wreckage. the us army corps of engineers plans to open a third for commercial traffic by the end of the month. the goal is to restore normal capacity to the port by may 31st under a new rule passed by a state committee. landlords providing housing, new low income housing in california are not allowed to increase rent by more than 10% a year. the california tax credit allocation committee passed this rule on wednesday. the new rule does not apply to developers who already entered contracts with the government to receive low income tax credits. housing advocates say these caps are still too high and call for 3 to 5% caps. the rule can be waived if tenants incomes go up or if they move to a larger unit. alarm over the use of anti-aging

want to rename a federal prison after former president donald trump. this week, garamendi gary connolly of virginia and jerry moscowitz, jared moskowitz, that is from florida, introduced legislation that would change miami federal correctional institution in florida to the donald j. trump federal correctional institution. the low security prison is about 90 miles from mr. trump's mar a lago estate. the move comes days after house republicans introduced a bill to rename a washington, d.c, airport after the former president. the newest candidate for san francisco mayor, aaron peskin, kicked off his campaign in san francisco's chinatown. this was at portsmouth square on kearny street, roughly 750 people of the community showed up in support. many brought campaign signs reading we need air, and a

mayor knows how. neighborhood leaders, elected leaders and tons of community members were there. as we've mentioned, board of supervisors president tells us his plans for day one in office if he's elected. >> number one most important issue is public safety and public safety means disaster preparedness. and it means police on our streets. day one. it's working with our department of emergency management and our police department to make sure that every corner of the city is safe. >> launching his campaign with an event in chinatown is a significant strategy move, as no candidate has won san francisco's mayoral seat without winning the votes. in chinatown on capitol hill. congress is back in session on monday. in the house, some republicans are threatening to strip speaker mike johnson of his gavel, fox's chad pergram explains. >> republican georgia representative marjorie taylor greene authored a resolution to force the house to take a vote of no confidence in speaker mike johnson. >> and i do not wish to inflict

record high numbers. we were seeing like 10 to 12,000 crossings a day. right now it's between five and 6000 per day. and the question is, well, why? what you just saw in texas? texas has been fortifying their border. el paso, eagle pass, brownsville, putting up razor wire barricades all over the place. the idea being keep people out. but another thing is also happening. the biden administration has made some sort of an agreement with mexico and mexico is now enforcing on their side of the border, they're taking migrants off trains. they're not letting them ride up on busses to the border. they got national guard posted all over the place. they're stopping these migrants from getting to the border, and they're not just taking them into custody. they're then shipping them down to chiapas, tula, tapachula. excuse me. which is in southern mexico. so these numbers are lower for a myriad of reasons. and the question is, is that going to hold going into this, the traditionally busy spring and summer? >> we'll have more with fox's bill melugin this week on our political show. the issue is airs from 530 to 6 tomorrow morning. now to the latest on
