could break an unprecedented tie. >> we have a bunch of our staff, as you can see in the background , they're working hard, retrieving all the ballots, and there's a lot of precincts to retrieve. >> this is happening in santa clara county and in san mateo county. two. >> this is a machine recount. so that means it'll go relatively quick. but before we do that, we have to do what's called a logic and accuracy test on our voting system. >> as it stands, three candidates are headed to the general election sam liccardo, who garnered the most votes, then evan lowe and joe simitian, who tied for second. both of them are now at risk of losing their spot in november if even one additional vote is found. the front runner, sam liccardo, who got the most votes in the primary, actually does have now the stronger incentive. >> if he would prefer to be in a two person race rather than a three person race, and calling for a recount won't be cheap. >> the man who did is santa

news. >> all right into the evening. now temperatures are starting to drop. we've got clear skies on the coast, but there's fog just off shore. i think the fog will fill in tonight a little bit less certainly than we had this morning. we had a lot of fog and low cloud early, and it lingered. and then the sun came out and then we ended up with temperatures like these. tomorrow sun comes out sooner and we end up with temperatures 5 to 7, maybe eight degrees warmer than these in some places. mid 70s, low 70s, maybe even a little warmer than that. so nice day tomorrow. overall a little bit of patchy coastal fog. as i mentioned, there's a little bit of wind out there at the airport about 15 miles an hour at sfo, but just just a classic spring weather pattern. and this high pressure is sort of a dominant position where it wants to hang out, certainly through the week, but it also has the potential some of the models are suggesting to hang on much longer than that. so we may be dry for we're dry this week, but we might be dry a little bit beyond that too. if you buy the long range stuff. and quite frankly, i buy it with a grain
10:50 pm
of salt. so there's the high. that's why the fog can form. that's why the winds are onshore. northwest westerly winds 14 mile an hour at sfo. gusts to 20. pacifica is calm or half moon bay is calm. wow. that's not much wind out there. so the fog is going to work its way to the coast. but you can just. we can't really see it here. but that's kind of what depict fog. and it's a little closer than that. so about where my fingers are. so fog will probably be kissing the coast if it isn't already around. montara. the forecast for tomorrow then, just like today, but more so on sooner and warmer day time highs by a good 5 to 8 degrees. these are the overnight low forecast above freezing above the 30s because a little cloud cover, air quality is good. i mean this is just a nice little pattern. and we haven't really had one of these. we've had a lot of, you know, rainy on again, off again weekend stuff. rain during the week. we haven't had a we've had we had that really warm run. but i mean this is a nice little string of days we're putting together here with the weekend looking pretty nice as well. so that's tomorrow. this is wednesday morning. more clouds wednesday afternoon less clouds. thursday has got a bunch of clouds. and that's why
10:51 pm
thursday will be a little bit cooler. but overall steady as she goes. it's a good little weather pattern. the air quality is going to start becoming more noticeable in terms of, well, certainly pollens, but in terms of just is that that big high i showed you that kind of caps the atmosphere. so stuff's going to start sticking around. we're not getting those big winds that come through with the rains that we were seeing. and so the air quality you'll just notice it with visibility more than anything. but it's worth noting that as we get into these spring and summer months, the high pressure kind of caps the atmosphere and gives us less than perfect air quality, which is basically what we have all winter long. we have really good air quality in the bay area in the winter and the spring, even in the fall, to some extent. i'll see you back here at 11. >> all right. we'll see you then, bill. thank you. a new exhibit is open at san jose state university's king library. the exhibit is called south asians in silicon valley. it highlights the history and cultural contributions from communities like afghanistan, bangladesh, india and sri lanka, and how they've shaped the landscape of technology and entrepreneurship in the region.
