10:49 pm
the weekend. and in that it gets close to us right here. and that's that's the mechanism for the cooling. and it will be pretty pretty significant cooling i mean highs are going to not be in the 80s. they're going to be in the 60s and 70s for the most part mid 60s, mid 70s. that's over the weekend. the temperatures right now though we do have like 67 in concord, 69 in walnut creek. san francisco's a cool 57 and then 63. in palo alto and 65 in san jose. so temperatures are about where they were maybe a little warmer than they were last night. not that far off. it was windy today, especially in the san bruno gap up around sfo, gusts to 35 miles an hour. but the winds have died down a little bit. fog is going to make a play for the coast tomorrow. you can see here we are the model shows you tomorrow. this is the afternoon. and then the fog by midnight starts to reform along the coastal sections. and then by friday afternoon it kind of burns back again. and then by saturday or saturday morning,
10:50 pm
early fog comes back. so that's s a part of the cooling. when you see the fog return. right. so the cooling not tomorrow friday, saturday and then sunday it'll be noticeable. the subtle changes for the most part. but these are the highs on the warmest day of the week, most certainly probably the warmest day of the week, but not by a ton, right? i mean, fairfield goes 91 instead of 90, santa rosa goes 90 instead of 88. so it's a you know, it's a couple of degrees up and then the five day forecast and you see the warmest day of the week. and then temperatures come down. and right here when that system gets close to us, which i was trying to show you in that long range model. boom clouds come in, fog comes back and temperatures drop down and they start to warm up next week. it's going to be interesting week following monday tuesday because we've got a pretty good warm up coming, which will kind of mark the i think the turning point between we're not seeing a lot of brushfires to oh yeah, because the fuels will dry out over tomorrow and then into next week. and then at the end of
10:51 pm
next week, the fuels will be pretty dry and we might start seeing some typical freeway brush fire type stuff, which is very typical for this time of year. i'll see you back here at 11. >> okay. we'll see you then, bill. thank you. the indie night film festival is coming to san francisco for the first time this weekend to celebrate independent film making. that festival will be held saturday at the amc kabuki theater eight near japantown. it is a chance to bridge the networking gap between smaller filmmakers and hollywood executives. now in its 12th season, the festival is usually held in los angeles, but the festival's founder, san francisco native dave brown, wanted to bring it home after the pandemic. >> did you hear this word all the time? a lot of talent in the bay area, so it's time for me to come back there, you know, shine some light on the city, give us the opportunity to show that there are talented people in san francisco. so this is a great thing. >> there are also several documentaries on the festival that highlight san francisco's evolution and the challenges it's faced in the past few years
