johnathon, you and i spent a lot of time in this courthouse watching this play out. with anything surprise you? >> know, after watching him in court quite frankly i would say that the very concept of jail for seven like this would be otherworldly and ridiculous. after watching the court room i say i have some doubts in my mind but it would go against the overwhelming weight of the past cases. you have a nonviolent offence by a first offender, old yulia defendant i would be very surprised what there is a menu of other options from communion service to home confinement. in my view, and dismissals about most judged to be thinking about which is basically go out and send no more type of warning. you're still under supervision. then you get really tough. if you desk it was something that's like commuting service and confining him to trump

frankly, you could be clarence darrow and loss this case i was hoping for a hung jury. i've viewed this and wants the instructions come out that it's almost guarantee for the conviction, there was not a lot of room there. this is why i tell people you shouldn't blame the jury necessarily the instructions were really a poison pill instruction. the left very little room for the jury they were told over and over again in the judge said nothing as a prosecutor said there was election violations in this case and they were ordered by trump in the defence objected to those. and the judge just overruled everyone of those. so what they heard in that courtroom, it's not too surprising in terms of a conviction. but did create this target rich environment for appeal. but the appeal is likely to play out after the election. most americans weird as divided as we are politically.

homes. how do you respond to his characterization? >> he is parroting the talking points of hamas and the group in iran. of that society wants to choose so be it. they're standing with the most important allies in the middle east at this most desperate time. bernie sanders has chosen aside and i hope our other colleagues in the democrat party will stand up and do the right thing. we're desperately needed and israel distally needs it. i spoke to prime minister trudeau netenyahu as recently as wednesday and he is deeply concerned. we gave the offer when i said the draft a letter, the joint letter back in mid march 2 chuck schumer took him quite some time to agree but we finally have gotten it. netenyahu is anxious to come and

investigate what the prosecutors are doing at the state and federal level to use politics. political retribution in the court system with the political opponents and federal officials like donald trump. it's a really important thing for us to delve into and we will look at social council jack smith who we believe is abusing his authority as well we have that mechanisms to try and get control of this. we will be doing this within the confines of our jurisdiction. i think this can have the desired effect until the people we are not going to tolerate this. people are losing their faith in our system of justice and that's a serious threat. >> we i want to ask you about something that might need clarification, on friday you said you think the supreme court should step and then you said i think the justice on the court i know many personally and i think they are deeply concerned. one of your critics out there, so one who covers the court with me mark joseph stern wrote this he says fascinating to hear the gop speaker the house admit to

having private conversations with multiple justices who expressed concern to him about trump's conviction. i'm sure the justices will recuse from any eventual appeal to be on a case they have prejudged. i didn't thank you meant that specific conversation but i want to give you a chance to clarify. >> no, thank you. of course i haven't had conversations with the justice isn't just another character and personality and what they have set in the past. they are deeply concerned as we are about mounting -- maintaining our system of justice. you walk into the supreme court building you and i know chiseled on the marble equal justice under law. we're concerned about maintaining this idea, we all are. it's a necessary ingredient for constitutional public and that's what i was referring to. i think they are concerned about using courtrooms for politics. we all are. we all should be. that's about was referring to and i think in there heart of hearts they are concerned about it just like we are. >> we will see the trump team takes a more expedited wrote to get to the justices and see how

ban. trump is now said you will not sign a federal ban and this is to be left to the states. mike pence said this when the news came out he said president trump's retreat on the right to life is a slap in the face the millions of pro-life americans who voted for him. a majoty of americanlong to see minimum national protections for the unborn and federal law but today too many republican politicians are all too ready to wash their hands of the battle for life. i know you are passionate about this and we have talked with the fact that there is states that do not have a limit on abortion up to a due date. are you willing to concede that position or would you fight to push president trump if you are his vice president for the federal ban i know you care so much about? >> you are a hundred percent right. the democrats and republicans are all pro-life honestly. and they have already voted to allow for abortions up until the day of birth. but it goes beyond that.
