torture and killing of palestinians there are appalling. nasar khanani called for an international investigation of the incident. now we have some breaking news coming in before we go to the news review, the irgc has said that the israeli attack in damascus follows the regime's irrepairable defeats against palestinians and the resistance. now in our news review program we discussed the latest developments at the al-shafah medical complex. let's take listen. is our correspondent joining us from daral abala to give us the latest on the genocide that's occurring and also mcnapier will break it down for us, he's the co-founder of the
10:38 pm
scottish palestine solidarity campaign who joins us from edinburgh. okay, welcome to you both, good morning to you muti, tell us what you have for us uh today, of course we know the massacer that has taken place uh that is now unfolded uh with all the diff uh, guess bodies that have been retrieved, the dead bodies. tell us about that if you can also. this is the most important news that we have today, which is about the withdrawal at the retreat of the israel incubation forces from the ashifa medical complex and the surrounding areas of the ashifa medical complex, massive and unbelievable destruction and folded after the israeli tanks uh withdrew from those areas we are. talking about trafle, two consecutive weeks of the brutal aggression that touched and reached everything there, according to the eyewitnesses and according to the people there and the medical staff and the civil defense crews that the entire buildings inside the ashifa medical complex were
10:39 pm
completely or barshary destroyed in addition to uh those buildings that were set on fire by the israeli occubation forces. uh the entire complex were reduced to a mass grave that included handers of the palestinian dead bodies according to the medical staff and the civil defense crews that at least a 300 palestinian dead bodies uh were found yubiquas in those areas inside the buildings uh inside the complex and outside the complex they found a plathora of the medicine and dead bodies uh scaffed and blindfolded, they were executed in cold the blood by the israeli incubation forces, those dead bodies actually uh include uh the children, the elderlies and the women, the the the whole people part particularly who were stranded and who were beseged inside the ashifa
10:40 pm
medical complex, they were tortured, they were uh found stripped down by the israeli incubation forces, as i've mentioned they were uh blindfolded and had and they were execution by the israeli incubation forces. needless to mention that even the surrounding areas of the shifa medical complex, the entire squares, the horizontal squares there were completely... destroyed by the israelicubation forces. i kind of a lost for words here, because when i heard what our correspondent there said, uh, it is quite shocking, and uh, we continue to get shocked by this genocide that's unfolding. i mean, this is happening in real time, he mentioned how there were 300 bodies that were recovered, there were many that were blindfolded, amongst them were women and children, and these are people that were trying to take refuge inside the hospital, um, so this is just really. "it obviously defines the word genocide that's taking place. what are your thoughts on what you
10:41 pm
just heard from a correspondent in terms of what has happened at the elsifa hospital? well, my thoughts are very similar to yours, that the horror is building upon horror and deeper horror every day, and one finds it difficult to find words and your reporter who does fantastic job has to be congratulated for finding the words to..." even bring to us the the horror of what's happening, i mean, given what, given what's going on, and given that america has decided to continue to send more bombs to israel to drop on gaza, it's clear that as the price we paid for decades and decades of crime against the people of palestine, slow motion genocide over very long time, this was an open vein in the surface. the world and it was bleeding horribly, but given that this has taken such
10:42 pm
a long time to to come to this horrible climax, it seems to me that the price we, we're interrupting our regular bulletin to bring you in our correspondent in tehran who is in downtown palestine square if i'm not mistaken, as you know because of the attack on the iranian consult. damascus, people are now out on the street protesting and condemning that attack, so we have our correspondent fatima massumi who is joining us live right now, fatima, tell us exactly where you are and what is going on? we are here at the palistin square and as you can see behind me there are people here. and they are condemning strongly the attack that has
10:43 pm
um happened on the um iranian consular section in the capital of uh syria in damascus and they are very angry and they have they're holding flags and as you see people from all ages are are here children men women young adult. even the elderly, they're here and they are again, they are very angry at what has happened in the past hours, so what are some of the slogans that they are chanting? um, actually they are, they're chanting um um some verses supporting um the saying saying their support. for the palestinian people um and also um there there
10:44 pm
was some uh there was a a person speaking here um he was from palestine and uh he was talking about um all the genocide that has been happening um in the past few months in the gaza strip and um as you have um the images um everyone is um um everyone is um saving their flags and they are chanting and they are saying um that they are very supportive of the palestinian people. well that's quite interesting because just few hours ago when we were uh talking again about uh the reaction of the islamic republic of iran. you did mention yourself that uh iranians will continue to support palestinians and i can see behind you that uh the people are holding the flags uh palestine and also the resistance movement, so uh, it seems that what you just mentioned few hours
10:45 pm
ago was quite true, wasn't it? yes, um, gisu, as i said, iranians, as iranians, we are in full support of the palestinian people, we uh, will never, um, go back, you know, we will never take one even step back from our. support we are um we are in support of the martyrism culture and um these people are angry they are heartbroken and they they are. showing this, actually it's late, it's um around 11 at night and they are here and as you see they are loud and clear about um their um position towards the recent attack on the um the iranian consuller uh so by the large number of people who are there in
10:46 pm
palestine square at this hour in tehran it must be late night uh we can't really expect a large number of people taking part in the international quds day rallies in support of palestinians and despite the fact that israel has been trying to discourage the islamic republic of iran, right? yes, gisu, as as i said right now, there are a large number of people here, and actually i think that... i don't know, i would say um, many, many more people, um, hundreds or thousands of people even will be on the streets on friday on the international gots day, showing their support and strongly condemning the geneside that the israeli regime is carrying out on um, the palestinian people, our muslim brothers and
10:47 pm
sisters and the innocent children in the gaza strip, thank you very much, so i think that we will be expect. i think this year, even even more and more people. thank you. thank you, gisu, thank you. thank you very much. that was our correspondent fatima masumi joining us live from the iranian capital, downtown, tehran, where, as you can see in these live images that we are receiving, a large crowd has gathered to show their support for palestinians and the resistance, the access of resistance. you can see the flags that they're holding, the flags. the palestinian flag and the flag representing the axis of resistance, and this just goes to show that iranians, just as the ambassador in damascus mentioned, first are not afraid of israeli atrocities, and second, they will continue to support palestine. and now to the

occupied west bank. israeli forces have shot and killed a palestinian man over an alleged stabbing attack a settlement near the town of ashtod. israeli sources say at least three settlers have been seriously injured in this attack which occurred in a shopping mall. according to reports regime forces fatally shot the attacker who was later identified as a man from alkalil. the incident came hours after al-qassan brigades, the military wing the hamas resistance movement. republished a message from its commander, calling on palestinians to use all of their resources to fight against the regime. hamas later hailed the attack as a natural response to the occupations massacers in gaza and the west bank. the group added the operation also shows palestinians convictions toward the
10:49 pm
resistance as path to liberate palestine. earlier we were joined by our correspondent in ramalah for more details about the recent anti-israeli operation in a listen to what mona had to say? well what what's happened let's speak about the anti-israeli operation 19 year old from the town of dura in al khil he works in that area near astud when he arrived at the shop shopping mall, he stapped israeli sittlers, according to the israeli police, they opened fire, shot him and killed him, later the israeli forces stormed the town of dura, they raided the house of masalmi and they ordered family members, his father and siblings to come to the intelligence department there in alkhale, of
10:50 pm
course this means after interrogation they would be arrested, other family members had been detained, the... is cause severe damage inside the house and we have to mention that this with the killing of masalmi, the number of palestinians had been killed by the israeli forces since the 7th of october is over 455 palestinians. laban's hasball resistance movement and israeli forces continue to exchange fire as tensions remain high over the war in gaza. now israeli warplanes. have launched air strikes on two villages in southern lebanon, the lebanese resistance has also carried out retaliatory operations against israeli positions in the area. earlier, our correspondent mariam sal gave us more details. despite the fact that we did have lot of escalation in the last couple of weeks, today is considered somewhat of a calm day uh, with with that said, we do
10:51 pm
have, like you mentioned, two very heavy air strikes on the woods of rashaya al fakar, rashaya al fukar is considered to have vast amounts of forests and reserves and so there was been directly systematic attacks by the israelis against lebanon's agriculture. what is left of its forests and its trees and so we saw those uh two heavy air strikes against uh those woods in addition to another air strike also on the outskirts of itashab and also the outskirts of villages usually have also amounts of green and woods and trees and so on so that is one part of the israeli aggression against lebanon. hezbulah had also later on sunday targeted two israeli units uh using artillery fire. another one in almanara post uh and of course had earlier used drone attacks uh against several of the areas, including one recent post in the shabab farms
10:52 pm
area. and now like i said it seems to be somewhat calm, you have lot of talk within the israelis and among them about the the warnings that a future war with hazballah would not be something to be taken lightly despite the threats from the leaders. "you have lot of experts within the israeli regime that are calling on the leaders to postpone any war or not to uh basically go to a war with hezballassens, they are saying that any war with the resistance group in lebanon could be detrimental to the israeli economy, and israel has confirmed attack its positions by iraqi resistance groups. a statement, the israeli military said a
10:53 pm
flying off just struck building in the port city of alot. israeli air defenses failed to intercept it. this comes after the islamic resistance in iraq said that they hit a vital target in israel. the resistance group added that to the attack was in response to the ongoing israeli gu against palestinians, the group has carried out numerous such operations against israel in the past months, but the regime has not confirmed most of those attacks, the iraqi resistance group, however, has vowed to continue hitting israel until the regime ends its crimes in gaza, and turkey's main opposition party has won the local elections in two key cities, istanbul and ankara. this is the biggest defeat in more than two decades on present. erdogan and his justice and development party. with more than 96% of ballot boxes counted, the opposition republican people's party, the
10:54 pm
chp, has declared victory for akram imamuk, the incumbent mayor of istanbul. speaking to his supporters, imam muklu said the 16 million istanbul citizens have sent a clear message to the president. the chp is also ahead in izmir, turkey's third biggest city. hertagan has acknowledged his party's poor performance in sunday's elections, saying he would self-reflect and rectify any mistakes, the local elections appear to represent a fresh blow to the president who had set his sights on retaking control of urban areas. and that brings us to the end of this edition of world news on press tv. thank you for. watching, stay tuned, there will be more updates in half an hour.
