a fresh group of triathletes can now say they escaped from alcatraz.co hosts hosted its 43rd annual escape from alcatraz triathlon today, and we've got some local winners. a lot of local winners, athletes from all over the world joined to test their endurance. the race starts with the swim from alcatraz to the saint francis yacht club. the athletes bike 18 miles through the presidio to the great highway, then back to the marina. from there they run another eight miles through the golden gate national recreation area to the marina green. the law and the story is that no one has ever escaped alcatraz island alive. so it's really a beautiful and super fun race where we can have a lot of our triathletes be in a very small population that said that they escaped alcatraz. all right. you want to hear the local winners? first place we tour raj from berkeley. tom debruin from san francisco came in second. also from san francisco. franklin rice, he came in third. and i don't know what the perfect day for a swim from alcatraz to the to the land is, but that kind
