i was the critic at the arts paper, the art critic sorry, art critic at the school's paper. and i wound up on a whim applying to the emerging critics fellowship for the national book critics circle. and i learned a lot from my mentors out there and, you know, a few years later down the line, i found myself on the board, which is still feels crazy, but it's been over a long way around. i wasn't a straight path at all. what is the national book critics circle? we are a critic, run or organization...
