much of the east bay. we're going to see high, a high of 80 in hayward, 84 in martinez and 90 in walnut creek. but it's going to be in the low 90s in just a few spots near the coast. we're dropping those temperatures even more so half moon bay. we'll see the temperature up to 68 degrees 72 in san mateo and in palo alto, 82 degrees low 70s in the mission district and in the marina district, 68 degrees today, novato, 85 and 99, in ukiah. when we compare that to what we're seeing elsewhere, i know you may be packing a bag and heading somewhere. we've had some extreme heat across parts of the south, and when you add in the humidity. well, the heat index has been an issue over 100 degrees across much of the south. but we do see that cold front that will be making its way farther off towards the east, dropping those temperatures here. we do have a slight cooldown in our forecast, and in gilroy we're going to see upper 80s, but then a nice mild weekend and then look at next week. it's going to be hot once again w

the south bay.n a car struck a man around nine last night. this is near automation parkway and hostetter road. police have now reopened all of the westbound lanes of hostetter road and the driver is cooperating with investigators. firefighters are still trying to determine what caused an early morning fire that heavily damaged an empty building in oakland. the first calls went out a little after 1 a.m. the oakland fire department posted this video from dennison and cotton streets near interstate 880. this is the same building where a buttercup cafe recently shut down. firefighters say no one was injured. well, police in oakland are investigating a shooting that left one person dead near the parker community resource center. it happened last night around seven on naeher avenue. now, officers say multiple people arrived at local hospitals on their own. no word this morning on their conditions in response to crime crisis in the city. oakland mayor sheng thao will host a town hall tonight to let residen

80s far inland in the east bay.ratures around the bay, a mix of 60s and 70s, 60s along the coast with occasional mist and drizzle and widespread fog. san jose 81 degrees, a whopping one degree below your average high temperature for tomorrow. temperatures will warm up a bit for the second half of the weekend. now let's look at the ten-day temperature outlook. we'll use livermore as our example because it usually has more fluctuation. it's going to be a little roller coaster ride but not a wild swing in temperatures. the warmest days will be about 3 degrees above average by tuesday of next week and then we drop off again by next thursday and friday. there are signs towards the tail end of the seven-day forecast -- the ten-day forecast rather that we'll see a more substantial warm-up. that kicks in as we hit the back half of the last weekend in august. what month is it again? boy, i'm on my game tonight. here's the seven-day forecast and then i can stop talking and figure out what happened. temperatures will be warmes

i think the east bay east bay should be in. this is well today. technically it is not.ut i am telling you it is going to be very warm in spots today. you can tell that by the fact that we've had such sunshine so early in the day and you see that here in downtown san francisco and you'll also see what's happening here on the map as we're expected to get up to about 99 degrees in antioch. 98 in livermore. so once again, we're seeing well above average temperatures 80's around parts of the bay and even san francisco looking out for 70 degrees today. so it's going to be a warm one. so just make sure you're taking good care and making plans to be out of the side and out of the heat when that kind of middle of the day between about 1 o'clock and 4 o'clock occurs. so let's talk temperatures for the next couple of days. this will be our last hot day tomorrow. we'll start to see things rolled out for those inland folks. and we continue on that trajectory as we get towards the weekend. in fact, even cooler as we wrap of the weekend up, i'll have those details when come back a bit

whereas down in the south bay we'll see mainly upper 70s.ven day forecast. and as you can see tomorrow will be another cooler than average day but warmer than today with mid 80s inland mid 70s around the bay shoreline. then the warming begins on monday. monday and tuesday. as a matter of fact, we'll see high temperatures inland going from 90 to about 94 degrees. and that two day period mid to upper 70s around the bay shoreline monday and tuesday. but notice the cooldown follows or starts to it begins, i should say on wednesday. and look at how cool it's going to be going into the end of next week. temperatures will be about 8 to 12 degrees below average for this time of the year, and our inland areas only up to about 84, where we often see 9496 degrees inland this time of the year. and around the bay shoreline, we'll see only about 70 degrees. so it will be cool again late next week, but probably not quite so misty as this morning was. >> i got a text from a friend in tiburon. she said, what is going on? it is raining here. and i said, what

out the bay bridge?e have a build up here. and then i saw a traffic report for a disabled vehicle near one of your fast lanes here near the hov lanes, and that's the side that is backing up right now. typically, it would be the middle. so i think that this disabled vehicle is kind of gumming up lanes right now. i don't know exactly which one is blocked. but here's lanes one through four actually 123 through six over here. that would be one of your left lanes. it looks like everything on the approach is fine. now that you know about it, you can shift over to your right just a bit if you want, but it may be clear in the next couple of minutes it should be. we're still looking at a smooth drive for highway 37 and highway four. pretty predictable patterns there. and overnight we've had the construction going on. it seems to be just clearing now, coming into fairfield, out of vacaville for westbound 80, but eastbound overnight also had lane restrictions. just keep that in mind for the next week and a half ove

it is for the south bay. and this is because temperatures will be above average by about 10 to 15 degrees in spots. it will be a warm, if not hot afternoon away from the coast. so today inland, lots of sunshine. look at these temperatures up to about 100 degrees later on this afternoon around the bay shoreline. we do have cloud cover this morning, but we see sunshine a lot faster compared to yesterday. i think most of us underneath the clouds see that sun around 9 a.m. this morning. upper 70s, lower 80s for daytime highs along the coast. it's brighter than yesterday. it's actually a very nice day along the coast. partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 60s. so today in our microclimates starting in the south bay heat advisory in effect 80s and 90s here 85 cupertino but 98 in morgan hill. we'll hit about 85 in milpitas up along the peninsula, 87 in redwood city, 79 in san mateo, partly cloudy along the coast, 62 for half moon bay across san francisco. we'll get that sunshine closer to about 10 a.m. this morni

east bay, san francisco in the north bay.jacket certainly could serve you well here as you move through the afternoon. here's the good part. we're going to go 4 to 10 degrees colder. so we're going to see more 80s in the south bay. the 90s. that will leave us at 87 here in san jose over to the east bay. have you 287 fremont 76 in hayward out to concord, 9178 in vallejo, coastline 60 three half moon bay over to redwood city. you're at 80 up to san francisco, 68 in downtown. and for the north bay, 82 in napa. so the numbers are trending downward for tomorrow. and i've got more good news for you here. the way things look over the next 7 to 10 days, we actually could see not one, not two, but three different areas of upper low pressure here moving throughout the west. now, what this is going to do is not bring us any rainfall, but drop those temperatures starting on sunday through next week. we're looking at plenty of 80s inland. coolest stretch of weather since back on june the 12th through the 21st. i don't know about you, but

here's nbc bay area's jocelyn moran. police and sheriff's deputies are investigating this shooting at the emerald park apartments. but people who live here say with no suspect in custody, there's a sense of worry and disbelief. it's generally a very quiet area, so any type of police activity is news to us, especially something as drastic as this. police tonight investigating a deadly shooting on hacienda drive in dublin. police responded after two this afternoon. when they arrived, a man was found dead from a gunshot to his head. doherty elementary school nearby was put on lockdown. police said it was lifted shortly after four. no suspect has been taken into custody. one neighbor, who didn't want to show her face, says she received an email from the apartment complex, said they had sent an email out at that point saying that there was a situation that police were involved in, but there was no immediate threat and all they said was that we might need to park elsewhere. but she then checked her front cameras. i sa, police
