obviously a frustrating setback for capitola. here's nbc bay area a robert handa. >> reporter: here in capitola, many business owners were still trying to recover from january's storms. so today's rain means a lot of repair and damage that has to be re-evaluated and really many of the business owners say they're going to be starting over again. some people told me they're lucky enough maybe to be able to reopen maybe by tonight or tomorrow. but that is still going to take a lot more evaluation before they'll know for sure. as for many of the business owners who haven't been able to reopen, it's been a tough time. many complain that despite the presidential visit last year and all of the hoopla that came from those storms, nobody ever got any financial assistance from fema, and they are already dealing with the fact that the capitola wharf is still in need of repair and won't be open until next summer. so right now, the business owners here are in a state of cleanup and re-evaluation, which is very familiar to the process they wen

in this small seaside town of capitola, the historic wharf destroyed last winter's storm took another beating along with coastal homes and businesses. now, taking a live look outside on this friday morning, another first alert weather day. it is a beautiful shot of the city but you can see the active weather. we are getting ready for more rain later today. here is jessica. >> we are under a high surf advisory until 6:00 tonight. we could see breakers anywhere up to 20 feet high along our california coastline. very similar to yesterday. not nearly as high. we are keeping a close eye on that because there is a lot of active weather in the forecast. it is a first alert weather day in the bay area. we are seeing the major storm system build its way in from offshore. heavy pockets of rain moving in from our coastline all the way up into the east bay too. this will be a super soaker for us. into the evening hours, it will start to dry up near 7:00 all throughout concord and down into santa cruz, heavy rain still falling at that point. into the overnight hours, it starts to dry up . scattere
