and here with me now live in studio is cheryl davis, the executive director of the san francisco humanate you making the trip across the bridge to visit with us this afternoon. as i mentioned last year, your first year for the parade after last year's event, what type of feedback did you hear? >> we heard a lot of people were just excited to be on market street with all the other parades that we have, they felt really welcome to san francisco and then we heard like, what can we do to make it better? because we had a lot of people in the parade, not a lot of people watching the parade. so how can we get more people out, and then how can we do something at the end of the parade to kind of celebrate and not just be kind of done and then people go back to their homes and say, that was great, but what more could we add? >> okay, so what are you doing this year to make it bigger and better? >> yeah, we are super excited this year. we've got block captains, so we've invited different folks, glide memorial church as well as some of our football teams and little league and things like that are

i'm cheryl davis with the san francisco human rights commission. i have my colleagues with me, doctor cidalia tutu from the dream keeper initiative , as well as davis and zevadia, our pio valley brown from, the strategic partnerships and our cfo, samuel thomas. so i will try to move through this quickly . and, thank you again for this opportunity. so the mission so try to stick to what we were asked for. so we'll share. the mission is to address the anti-discrimination laws and then to advance racial equity and healing, objectives, to disrupt and transform oppressive practices and systems, advance policies. and i just wanted to share two of the groups that we've worked with over the years, the trans cultural district and the latino task force, which have been strong partners in our work to be disruptive, but also to community, to center community and to be authentic. and how we celebrate diversity with regards to how we achieve our mission and objective, our civil rights division, which is the mandate of the human rights commission, which is actual

davis, i think you can see in the photos our staff were enlisted into duty to shake pompoms to celebrate this remarkable national holiday, next up, in terms of celebration and pride is pride weekend, one of the biggest events of the year for muni and traffic. the sfmta, along with df staff, rec park, the san francisco puc and the airport will join as one contingent in the pride parade. i will be joining with them. we also have a significant number of staff who will be participating in the trans march, next friday, june 28th, showing our unwavering support for lgbtq rights, include honoring and making visible the trans staff that we have at the agency. this is also a huge event for us. we've got pretty much all of our parking control officers and their supervisors out there on the streets directing traffic, helping tens of thousands of visitors find their way around the city. and it is also, of course, yet another event where we celebrate the real spirit of san francisco. and finally, i can't believe i'm getting to announce this. this is so exciting to me. it's also a request. one of the
