we have eamon javers with more. >> reporter: good morning, contessa. oral arguments at the supreme court today where social media companies may get clarity around what the government can and cannot say to them about a lot of issues over public health and education and security and more. the case justices will hear is murphy versus missouri. it was brought by five plaintiffs in missouri. the individuals argued the biden administration improperly pressured social media companies to restrict their posts about covid policies. the biden administration says it was only doing what white houses have always done. communicating to the media about issues of national importance. they say such jaw-boning doesn't amount to improper coercion or violations of the first amendment. the lower court judge issued the order from banning the administration about key issues for social media companies, but the supreme court has put that on hold until it decides the issue. at stake here are communications on a wide range of issues. pandemic, election, cybersecurity and even mor

eamon javers has the details. eamon?t coming in from a press release from the department of justice. they say a canadian national was arrested earlier today in nassau county, new york, and this canadian national was attempting to sell electric vehicle battery trade secrets to undercover officers. the person involved here allegedly believed that those undercover officers were legitimate business people he could sell these secrets to. now, it looks as if, from the context here, that the company involved as the victim of all of this was, in fact, tesla, given the description of the situation that the department of justice lays out in this press release. they are saying that a man, a canadian national, resident of the people's republic of china, was arrested for conspiring to send to undercover law enforcement officers trade secrets that belonged to a leading u.s.-based electric vehicle company. they only identify here as victim company number one. but again, from the circumstances here laid out in the document, it does appe

eamon javers is here with the latest edition of "the javers files." eamon? >>> good morning, becky.naire five-hour energy entrepreneur allegedly maintained undeclared bank accounts worth hundreds of millions of dollars at the swiss bank according to documents cited by senate finance committee chairman ron wyden in a letter sent to the bank's managing partner in geneva. the letter does not name him, instead referring to him as person one. but a source familiar with the investigation and documents reviewed by cnbc confirm bhargava is at issue here. he has received documents from a whistle-blower not identified in the letter who has information about bhargava's alleged scheme to avoid u.s. taxes on his fortune largely built on the sale of the tiny bottles of highly caffeinated liquid. bhargava's company 5-hour liquid is based in michigan. wyden writes he received a deposit of $255 million in 2013, but the account was zeroed out at the end of that year. wyden's letter alleges bhargava transferred it to person two in the letter but the funds were under bhargava's control. an attorney sai
