meteorologists, elisa raffa joins us now and elisa along the path of totality, it looks like some people are going to get a great clear view, but others maybe not so much yeah, we've got this storm system that's developing over parts of the southern plains. a lot of people headed to doubtless to see this and that's where we've got a severe threat that's growing on the southern end of the path of totality. we now have a level three out of five and enhanced risk for strong and severe storms with large hail damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes. now when we put the storms it's in play, it looks like they do fire up after the eclipse. so this is 1:00. you can see you've got that path of totality. they're pretty dry and then they do fire up about one or two hours after we're looking at after three or 4:00 for those storms to fire up in texas, but it will though, of course, come with clouds as those storms are getting ready. so we're looking at some mostly cloudy skies in doubt alice as you hit that path, that peak of totality at 1:40 for places like indianapolis, you've got much more clearin

raffa as the latest forecast >> we're watching those clouds so closely on the path of totality. it looks like we have a storm system though developing on the southern end of the path where a severe risk is growing for damaging winds, large hail, even isolated tornadoes from texas into oklahoma, arkansas, and louisiana. the good news is though it looks like the storms do blow up after the eclipse. we've got a couple of showers kinda right as the eclipse is starting that partial eclipse. and then they blow up right after that peak, probably after three or four clocks, you might have a one to two hour window to seek shelter if you're in a place like dallas outside, two watch the eclipse, though, it will come with cloud cover, mostly cloudy skies in dallas, temperatures in the 70s, one is your total solar eclipse time. then it ends at three and those storms will fire up shortly after it's all part of the system that kind of stalls right near that path of totality bringing you some showers for middle tennessee and then over towards the carolinas. we do have some clouds that will come

let's get straight to our meteorologists to raffa. elisa >> good morning to you. what are people looking at today? >> good morning. it's been a busy overnight and it's going to be even busier as we go into the day today, we're looking at dangerous weather. here's a look at some of the reports from overnight. it had a couple of tornado reports and parts of oklahoma hail up to the size of softballs. this is the tornado watch that we've got continuing this morning across southern illinois going into kentucky we're not tornado threat continues until about 8:00 central time. we are starting to get some radar data back. you can see the glitches. it's not our system. we actually had an outage this morning and the radar data bad timing with some warnings for tornadoes around paducah, kentucky. you see this map looks much better than from what i showed you about an our many more green dots on here. so what are the data is coming back and we need it because this is the risk for today, we have a moderate level, four out of five severe risk from columbus and cincinnati, ohio.
