back in 2022, owner of the beloved frederico's restaurant there in fremont, kiko rodriguez, died afterstarted choking at work. now, sadly, no one in the restaurant that day knew how to perform the heimlich maneuver. so, to honor kiko's memory, his brother partnered with washington hospital health care system there in fremont to teach restaurant workers the sign of choking, as well as the heimlich maneuver. and earlier today on the floor, we spoke with kimberly hart, ceo of the hospital's health care system, about the importance of continuing the heimlich during an emergency. >> it may not happen the first time in terms of doing that thrust, but you must continue to try to do that. you also must make sure that you tell someone to dial 911. so that is happening at the same time, you're trying to dislodge that food. >> now, according to the national safety council, choking is the fourth leading cause of unintentional deaths here in the u.s. those are 5000 choking related deaths in the u.s. every year, mostly in young children and adults over the age of 65. okay, this weekend is big. satur
