so this is the fulton county hearing today. and ali, we heard what steve sadow, to trump's lawyer in atlanta, say allowed the things that we were afraid to hear. up until now we have all had some comfort level that the georgia case is something that trump could not tamper with if he becomes president. but what steve sadow said today was you know judge you can't trump try my client while he's a candidate for the presidency. that would be election interference. and you can try my client of his elected president because under the supremacy clause of the united states, that would be -- so you'd have to put this case off until he left the white house. now the judge, who i think is very good at holding his cards sort of close to the vest, didn't indicate whether he was buying either one of these arguments and where he might land. but now we see what the stakes are here. these cases don't go to trial before the election. >> and some of his own questions helped you get a sense of this is often a case in oral arguments of the supreme co

if he were to keep this case in fulton county, we're talking about jurors who are fulton county citizens. fulton county is a reliably blue county in georgia, a democratic stronghold. those are the people that would be hearing his case. if it is moved to federal court, you're talking about the entire northern district of georgia, which includes a lot of red counties. so, the thinking would go that he would be arguing before a more friendly jury pool if it was in federal court. the other thing, as well, and something that is an interesting logistical change, in fulton county, it is going to be live streamed. you're going to see it on tv, live streamed on youtube. none of that is the case in federal court. if it does go to trial, if it is in federal court, mark meadows would likely want to be avoiding those tv cameras. and that's something he could do if it were tried in federal court rather than fulton county superior court. >> i touched briefly on the plea deal. you got a hold of some of the apology letters part of the plea deal, three individuals. sidney powell's apology letter reading t

fulton county state court case, they run a lot slower. in that same county, a r.i.c.o.s eight months of jury selection. so my prediction, is eight months of jury selection, ayman. that's not -- rebuttal witnesses, that's selecting a jury for eight months. so, in fulton county, that case is not going to start, the first witnesses are not going to testify until 2025. this may come back to haunt me, so maybe don't save the date. but i believe that's what will happen. however, for all of the other cases, there is an imperative in federal court under the -- act, for example, to get cases to trial in 90 days. now even if that gets extended, federal courts move very quickly compared to state courts. but these are all issues. presidential immunity, some of the others, the impeachment clause defense. these are all issues that need to be litigated. and while a district court judge can deny those motions, and deny what's called interlocutory appeal, maybe the trump team gets to appeal and delay a case, maybe they don't. these are all weighty, constitutional issues of first impress

mind you, i think both prosecutions, particularly in fulton county, constitutional deficient relating to the state prosecution of federal officials or acts taken while they were federal officials, there are all kinds of other issues. but that is is another consideration that should have been taken into account by one of these local da's but as you say with fani willis, this is something she dreamed of doing. for her it is a gold mine for her political future. she wants to pursue this and, meanwhile, her constituents are suffering, suffering in fulton county with the number of uninvestigated, on prosecuting crimes, serious crimes, a lot of folks don't feel good, they don't feel safe to even walk on the streets and portions of fulton county in the daytime, never mind the nighttime, daytime, she has failed in her primary responsibility as a prosecutor to protect her community. this is another point that goes to why are we doing this, whether it is federal, whether it is state, why do you prosecute? it is because it will achieve justice, protect your community, all these things. great. in
