inland valleys starting off. pretty much everywhere on friday. will back up out of the inland valleys quickly. 9:00, 10:00 at the latest, along the coast, taking longer. i don't think you will shake the fog to and extent along the coast. the june gloom hanging out. seeing more sunshine heading through the day on saturday. temperatures tonight, dropping down to the mostly middle to near 50s. near or around average. high temperatures tomorrow, going to climb to only a couple degrees above normal around the water. five or six degrees above inland in the middle 80s all of the way up to 90 degrees around morgan hill. lower to middle inland. you will be five or six degrees hotter. redwood city, half moon bay, upper 60 s in san francisco and then warmer as you go inland in the north bay. not as hot as even parts of the santa clara valley or east bay. leveling off in the middle portion of the 80s. temperatures peak on saturday. not likely to set new record high temperatures, compare in the forecast highs for saturday to where the records stand and will b

but the heat advisory is on for our inland valleys. from danville and livermore, the hills, napa by the delta and down around san jose and gilroy will see temperatures well into the 90s. how about upper 90s? but with this fog here, as it's compressed, it's providing for a very tricky morning along the coast, and it's going to provide that cooling throughout the morning as well and into the afternoon in spots 51 san francisco 49 half moon bay. good morning, oakland 55 for you. and redwood city at the airport you'll get a nice sea breeze, but still, redwood city will be in the upper 80s today. 55 in fairfield, 100 this afternoon. that delta breeze pretty light, but there will be a breeze today. 48 in petaluma. and as we go through the next couple of hours this morning, 60s and 70s by 9:00, by 1 p.m, low to mid 90s inland. so it's a quick warm up. we'll see 80s around the bay shore, but you'll get a bit of a sea breeze. and look at that fog staying put from just around ocean beach right through half moon bay today. so we'll talk about tha

it's the inland valleys that are included in this heat advisory. take a look at the city peninsula east bay shore. you're not in it, and if we visualize this a slightly different way, this is the heat risk map, which is messaging where the greater areas of concern would be if you fall into any of the orange on here. you fall under the moderate category, that's about as high as we're seeing. for a lot of the inland valleys would be concerned about those are the locations if you're in orange diablo valley, tri valley, santa clara valley and the north bay valleys yeah. you got to really take into consideration going easy on yourself. checking on vulnerable populations. the elderly anybody in your neighborhood out there who you know, maybe doesn't have air conditioning. maybe a good day to stop by. and also if you got to work outside, go easy on yourself interesting way this is playing out today. if we visualize this a different way a 3rd way. where the temperatures in relation to average we're well above average in the central valley. but if you look

we're going to come up a good 40 degrees in our inland valleys. and that's why we have that heat advisory. but boy you can see all that fog out there. so a summer sizzle just for the day. and that will be mainly in the hills. the inland valleys. you'll see how quickly they warm come. ten, 11:00. so that heat advisory keeping it toasty. and you should know, you shouldn't be spending a whole lot of time outside in the sun. you really get dehydrated quickly. and also keep an eye on those pets and the little kids out there. so mild with typical fog along the coast. but we will get into a little bit of sunshine here and there before it comes back. so there's a look at the marine layer as we get into the morning hours. you can see how it pulls away from marin and then slightly for san mateo, and then we'll look for it to move right back along the coast and locally inland for a cooler sunday. so the winds notice how light they are throughout the morning hours. pretty much nonexistent. but we do get into that typical sea breeze come the afternoon. so sund

so certainly 20 degrees above average for some of those inland valleys out there. but the great news, we are going to start to see some cooler changes as soon as tomorrow. let me get you the latest right now on our microclimate forecast. and just in case you missed it, we'll show you the top temperatures coming into my forecast here. pleasanton got up to 100 degrees. you saw those car thermometers really spike up, especially if you live near the bay and you're commuting to the inland valleys for work. walnut creek, 100. campbell 100. livermore 100, and concord, also right there at 99. so with this kind of heat across our inland valleys, it certainly is going to cool off pretty slowly tonight. so still plenty of water this evening just so you can stay hydrated. it can just kind of catch up with you pretty fast in this kind of temperatures. so check it out six 7:00 here in walnut creek, for example, we're staying in the 90s. we'll be in the 80s 8:00 and 9:00 tonight. so very, very warm this evening and then some 70s do start to get in by ten. and also 11:00. but as i

and for the inland valleys doing anything at all. man you are good to go. 89 sunny skies.t to wear shorts, t shirts, maybe go casual. the flip flops to your favorite restaurant. eat outside. the weather is right on tap here for you. looking good. we're at 87 at 6 p.m, 82 at 7 p.m. and then we're in the 70s here through eight. and also 9:00. so through tomorrow we still have this area of hot high pressure in the pacific keeping the storm track to the north. and when we see that storm track move to the north, then this hotter air is able to filter in much easier through the desert southwest. so tomorrow is going to be the hottest day. as we'll see this weather set up with us. the only thing though is we'll have some fog at the coastline, so it's not going to be 90 to 100 everywhere here across the bay area. it's going to be too hot for you inland. you're going to be able to head to the coastline and get some of that relief. we'll start it off here at 7:00 in the morning, with some areas of fog and low clouds. a lot of this should clear back by about ten and maybe around 1030

valleys because of that cold ocean breeze in the fog. 72 right now for the inland valleys, and we'reown to 66 here at 8:00. so as we head through this weekend, here's the thing. we have a system just off to the north, and that's going to continue to keep that fall going at the coastline and really keep any chance of 100 well away from us. now, what we're going to see happen as we head through sunday. pretty interesting here. this system is actually going to cut away from the storm track. it's called a cut off low set up shop in southern california. and that's going to bring in some thunderstorm chances to the sierra. and we'll still keep some of that fog going at the coastline. so it's dry for us. but if you're headed to the sierra, do watch out for those thunderstorms. so as we move through tomorrow morning's forecast, we're going to start it off with widespread clouds and fog on the cool side. so if you're up early 7 or 8:00 might need a jacket here, 53 in san francisco and the east bay, 54 look at these temperatures. going to warm up pretty good. still for the south bay 78 here in

it's focused primarily on all the inland valleys. whether it's not north bay or inland east bay, and then you see that classic signature that shows up here. if you're in the city. on the peninsula. or along the east bay shore. for your left out of this. not to say it's not going to be hot there. it's just not going to be as well above. average as you are going to be for some of those warmer inland valleys, another way to look at that. is just to get a quick snapshot. who needs to pay the most attention to this obviously, heat advisories. or important to be aware of, but we can drill down and get a little more specific on where the greater degree of heat related health impacts our by using the heat risk map, and when we do this, we kind of see that. classics. signature here you go. you got some orange for the north bay. you've got plenty of oranges showing up here for the inland east bay, and then that tells you you've got a moderate risk. for heat related health impacts and the takeaway from that is if you fall into that which are no

the winds kick up 70s and 80s low 80s for our warmest inland valley. all right lisa, thank you. new this morning. take a look at this. attention is on cape canaveral this morning as boeing prepares for a launch. here's a live look at that launch pad right now. and we know this is boeing's second attempt to get to the international space station with the atlas five rocket. abc news reporter johny fernandez has a preview. >> the starliner spacecraft is on the launch pad again this morning, and a bit of boeing's reputation is on the line as well. the starliner capsule sits atop of a huge atlas five rocket that will propel it into space. after blasting off from cape canaveral in florida. it's the second attempt to get to the international space station. the last launch was scrubbed because of a fluttering oxygen valve. now it's all set to launch. even though there's a small helium leak. mission managers say it's safe and there's a redundant system. we could manage about, roughly a double the leak rate, and we can manage it in flight. >> what we will do is

once you get out towards those inland valleys. we're talking about concord antioch, livermore and danville. and then right near the bay, some 80s from oakland to hayward as we move through the peninsula, 68.5 moon bay and down to redwood city. we're at 86 up to san francisco, 72, in downtown and for the north bay, 93 in napa, 94 in sonoma. so we've got that heat building for tomorrow. but here's the thing. as i mentioned, it's only a one day event. that area of low pressure that's helping to bring in the heat, it should start to kick off quite a bit to the east by wednesday and thursday. that's going to allow the storm track to get closer and drop our temperatures. so look at the result on this ten day forecast here. we're down to 82 in concord by wednesday 79 thursday. and really hold with these mid to upper 80s through the next ten day forecast. just okay on that 7-day forecast here in san francisco. so we are going up to 74 tomorrow, 60 wednesday, thursday and friday. a few low 70s this weekend. and across the inland valleys we

throughout those inland valleys. okay, as we head through this weekend, we had this area of low pressure, this storm system off to the north, and we also have fog at the coastline. so those two things still helping to keep some of that hottest air away. now, by the time we head into sunday's forecast, that system right there is actually going to break away from the storm track. just kind of meander down the coastline and set up shop near southern california. now we're going to stay dry on sunday, but if you're headed to the sierra, there will be the possibility of maybe some thunderstorms popping in the forecast. i think the biggest thing overall, as we head through tomorrow will be the fog to start looks pretty widespread for us. then as we head through the afternoon, we are going to get some sunshine in here. i think the computer models are overdoing it a little bit. it will be more of a filtered sunshine here with some high clouds moving across. so nonetheless, we're still looking at some pretty good weather here

, we'd see a temperature difference anywhere from 30 to 40 degrees from those hottest inland valleys to the coastline. so we'll begin on the refreshing side. because of that fog here at the coast. also some low clouds moving inland. most of those low clouds clear back by the afternoon, and we're under those sunny skies. this is going to have morning temperatures dropping down to the 50s and 60s. i see some low 60s there for the tri valley and the peninsula. starting off at 58 over two, the east bay 58 as well, and for san francisco 53. temperatures through tomorrow warm up another ten degrees. so down here across south bay it's going to put us back up to 93. in san jose, 96 in los gatos. a little bit of a breeze out of the northwest at 11. so thankfully not extremely gusty. we might get a few gusts up to about 20 in the afternoon with a wind coming out of the south and also the west that usually helps to import a little bit of humidity as well. 100 here in antioch 98 danville. but you head over those east bay hills and we're at 78 in oakland, 79 san mateo down to palo alto, 88 san fr

look at this coolest inland valley is gilroy at 73.nd that's because we have the ocean breeze that just kind of undercutting it and moving in from the south. so real nice weather out there towards gilroy for the east bay. 83 antioch 80 pleasanton, hayward 72. peninsula have yet 60 in daly city down to redwood city 73, san francisco 64 in downtown and for the north bay 78 here in nevada. next ten days. still not expecting any heat waves right now. we'll stay with some low to mid 80s in napa next. several days. then by the following weekend we get up into some low 90s. now when it comes to travel delays, i did want to hit on this. we've had some real torrential downpours, some emergency flooding situations in south florida, fort lauderdale and also miami. 380 flight cancellations today. you may have been impacted by that. and if you are, you're watching us and you're trying to get back to florida or you've got a connecting flight there, there's going to be more of this wet weather tomorrow. flooding rains on tap, 2 to 6in of rain over th

morning, and then it will retreat out of the inland valleys, improving visibility by 8:00, 9:00.he temperatures tonight, dropping down to the lower to middle 50s like tomorrow's high temperatures, low temperatures, the lows are a few degrees of what is normal. free air-conditioning for the spots that were inland cooking over the past couple of days. barely above 60. middle to upper 70s down the peninsula with the patch of warmer air in the santa clara valley. lower to middle 80s the influence blocked by the santa cruz mountains, the temperatures in the east bay, a mix of upper 70s and lower 80s, warm, but normally warm for early to mid-june. around the bay, 60s and 70s. lower to middle 70s for much of the north bay. until you go farther inland, farther to the north, temperatures, lake county, still reaching up into the upper 90s. we can call that hot. if you are heading out to the juneteenth parade. marine layer will be stiffer and the cloud cover coming through. the trend towards near average temperatures do not last long. baby heatwave in store for us monday, tuesday, wednesday

your temperatures won't be as hot as inland parts of the east bay or far inland in the santa clara valleys look at our forecast high temperatures and compare them to record temperatures for the hottest day for us, saturday. san francisco and oakland are falling way short of record territory. even the hotter spots will be well short of record territory as well. 7 degrees below record highs in both san jose and santa rosa. livermore will get up to around 100 degrees saturday. the record is 110. as we look farther down the line, once the temperatures coast back to closer to normal, it's about where we'll stay, the six to ten-day outlook through the end of june showing in between the hot temperatures to our east and the below average temperatures to our north. heading into early july, the eight to 14-day outlook takes us through independence day and shows a weak signal of above normal temperatures making a run back towards us. in the short term, a warm-up tomorrow and then the heat saturday and only for one day, mid- to upper 80s through the rest of the seven-day forecast. temperatures around

it's really those inland valleys whether it's inland north bay in the east bay or south bay, where you've got the color shaded another way to look at this is to put on the heat risk map, and this does show a slightly elevated degree. of concern if you're on the east bay immediately, space sure, because you see the shades of orange on here. they cover the inland north bay inland, east bay and the south bay, but they also cover places like san leandro. hayward fremont. the daytime highs there will be getting close to 90. as we get to tomorrow and wednesday, and those numbers are 10 degrees above average there, and it's hot enough that you want to just have an extra layer of awareness. easy on yourself. you got to be outdoors over the next few days. we look at the 7 day forecast for our inland microclimate. and these 2 numbers really stand out for tuesday and wednesday. good news is it won't last terribly long and as we get towards the end of the week and into the middle of next week, the numbers will begin coming back down. will finish this out with a 70 forecast for the bay in general. and

us with our natural ac and cooling things down for our inland valley. so for today, we're going to get rid of those 90s, and triple digit temperatures only go up to about 87 in santa rosa, 86 in fairfield, a few low 80s through dublin and san jose and the santa clara valley. immediate bay will do 64 in san francisco and 75 in hayward. so overall, a stunning day to get us through this workweek here. and as we advance forward through the rest of the day, let me show you what's happening in lafayette. we're going to cool things down, actually, just a little bit as we go on into our thursday, their low 70s. that's a nice, comfortable day and giving you through the rest of the weekend. we're looking at a few systems moving around california that could bring in a little bit more wind and a little bit more cloud cover. that's why we'll stay pretty stable through the weekend and then gradually warm things up into the 80s again. next week. but overall, it's goodbye to that horrible heat. san francisco should be nice and comfortable over the next couple of days.

it won't take long to dissipate from the inland valleys. along the coast it's tougher to dissipate, reduced visibility, maybe a few glimmers of sunshine through the low clouds and fog in the afternoon. the rest of us see plenty of sunshine, especially in the afternoon over the next couple days. temperatures tonight drop down mostly to the 50s, some of the warmest spots at or just above 60 degrees. then we warm up but only to what's normal for this time of year which means right around 60 degrees along the coast, low to mid-70s down the peninsula, santa clara valley in the low to mid-90s today, in the low to mid-80s for highs tomorrow, a similar drop for inland parts of the east bay. the warmest spots are approaching 90 degrees near antioch and brentwood, 80 in livermore after 97 today, 70s and 80s for the tri-valley northward to pleasant hill and concord. mid-60s in san francisco, 70 for oakland with temperatures a lot in the 70s for the north bay until farther inland where you find more 80 plus degrees. some of the hottest spots there appr

then as we head through the afternoon we should manage some sunshine here through the inland valleys. may be hazy at times, but also notice that the beaches will likely hang on to some fog that would be developing. so with that foggy breeze at our back, temperatures start down on the cooler side. we've got 50s here across the bay area. it will put us to 53 over the peninsula. san francisco 52 and for the east bay low 50s daytime highs dropping 5 to 10 degrees cooler. so i think you're going to notice it 77 here in martinez 81 livermore upper 70 san jose and 50s and 60s right here from half moon bay to san francisco. all my 7-day forecast in sf. we are going to go back up to 74 on saturday. so kind of a mild beginning to the weekend. then we'll dip it down to 68 on sunday. and for the inland valleys we'll go back up to 90 friday hottest day is saturday 96, but the back half of the weekend will drop down to double eight. so at least we're not looking at an extended period of hot weather coming our way. great. and hopefully that smoke, as you said, gets better tomorrow because today was
