james. all right, john, thank you. 10. 48 the time in the north bay, the u.s. coast guard has turned operations over to the great fair lawn's national marine sanctuary for that fishing boat that ran aground or but they could pay. >> earlier this month, the coast guard at the trying to write that fishing vessel since it went aground. now they say it's more of a salvage operation due to the unsafe weather and the condition of the boat efforts to refloat that boat and relocated just have not worked out. crews had to be able to remove a diesel from one storage tank before they could try and move it and that didn't work. they don't know how much is still in there. so that's a big issue. there's also some fuel that's leaked into the latter. the exact amount of that fuel that's leaked is unclear right now. the cause of the ship's grounding is still also a bit of a mystery. so that's all still being investigated. the union that represents the cal state faculty has accepted the tentative agreement from the university. so the new deal includes an increase in pay and bene

james, send it back to you. thank you very much, michael. >> and in the south bay, we're going to see demonstrations of nurses in santa clara county. they're holding a rally valley medical center in san jose like they did in october. this is video from that previous rally. they want to share concerns over workplace safety and patients quality of care. the nurses union is currently in contract negotiations and they represent more 3700 nurses. the union has already voted to authorize a strike. if it comes to that, if a deal is not reached, we'll keep you posted. also see some demonstrating in oakland at city hall of this morning. those in support of mayor sheng thao will be rallying on the city hall steps. they're urging people to reject the effort to recall her. today's rally is set for 9.30. so pretty soon you'll notice the demonstrators in over the weekend we saw the group behind the recall effort collecting signatures, which they're doing now to try to get they need. 25,000 signatures to get that on the ballot

staying in the east bay saint james road in piedmont is back open after being shut down for a couple of hours because of a downed tree. a large tree you can see here alongside the road fell over yesterday afternoon. people were asked to avoid the area while public works crews worked to remove this from the street. a federal judge paused a lawsuit impacting san francisco's ability to clear homeless encampments. that's while the supreme court decides a similar issue in oregon. a preliminary injunction is in place which prohibits san francisco from clearing homeless encampments unless it has enough shelter beds available. san francisco's city attorney says the pause keeps the city from wasting resources on a lawsuit that may be canceled in just a few months. in the south bay, a frightening incident in san jose shows just how dangerous power lines can be. it involved t men inside a cherry picker working on an apartnt building near the intersection of zanker road and vallejo. refighter say they were 40ft up when one of them hit his helmet on a high voltage power line. now that worker suff
