i'm kira klapper. cinthia pimentel has a quick look at our microclimate forecast. i experienced pouring rain, standing water, and then totally dry skies on my way in. >> forecast verified on your way into work this morning. good morning, everyone. we are looking at the storm making its exit this morning, and looking back to friday when all this started, we've done well in the north bay, over an inch and a quarter in calistoga. and san jose, about 0.87 in danville, and the showers are tapering off, picking up on storm ranger through parts of the santa clara valley down into san jose and out towards the ocean. now, we do have just a couple more showers to go, as we finally get rid of this low pressure system that will continue to sweep north to south later on this afternoon. so some isolated showers as we go through your sunday fun day plans. i'll help you time that hour by hour, and maybe a chance of an isolated thunderstorm or two as this front exits, which will bring some gusty winds at times. 15 to 30 miles per hour, especially towards the coast. we have another

i'm kira klapper. cinthia pimentel has a look at our microclimate forecast. not the wind and the rain we were dealing with yesterday morning, but i know you have a lot to get to. >> definitely some less gloomy skies on this first sunday of the month. good morning, everyone. a bit of a breakdown here in san jose. as we go through oakland, some more dry conditions on the road there along 880. in san francisco, we are noticing just a few drops on the lens there through downtown, and it's being verified by what we're seeing on satellite and radar, that cell pushing down into south city approaching parts of oakland in the next few minutes. scattered rain through the east bay, the north bay. less of that activity as we wake up and see those clouds down here through the south bay. as we go throughout the day, we continue this light scattered fashion as we go and plan our hour-by-hour outlook. as we go into the second half of the day and into our workweek, we are going to see some showers continuing, but definitely not like what we have had over the last couple of da

i'm kira klapper. >> i'm raj mathai. we start with a heartbreaking case involving a little girl. three people are accused of killing her during an exorcism like ritual in san jose. the next step in this gutwrenching case. ian cull was the only reporter in the courtroom. >> the mother of the three-year- old, as well as uncle and grandfather face felony charges of child abuse leading to death as prosecutors began laying out evidence against them. the preliminary hearing finally began in the case of a young girl killed in what police call an exorcism like ritual. she is identified only as aureli dough . one of the lead investigators took the stand to describe his interviews with the defendants seen in video from past hearings. cameras were not allowed in court. he said the girls mother claudia hernandez told him god had taken her child because aureli was possessed with a demon. it was hard saying everything will be okay and we won't be found guilty. in the interview it says she killed her daughter but did not mean to and that grandfather described how he held the girls tightly acros

i'm kira klapper.o open new pickleball courts and protesting today. developers transformed part of richmond's old pavilion into pickleball courts for a weekend tournament, and city leaders say that's despite the fact that last year they rejected a pickleball court proposal. a second proposal for permanent courts as well as a club is still under way by the city and state. the developer insists the weekend tournament is a stand-alone event, but the plan is not sitting well with opponents. >> this isn't about pickleball. it's about public space. e were want to make sure the pavilion stay as publicspace. >> developers did not comment to nbc bay area but in the past set the proposal is within the existing lease agreement. supporters say the venue will get more use after the pavilion closeds as on event in december of last year. council member, expected to debate the proposal again next week. >>> and visiting san francisco, met by protesters. the people's pageant demonstrated. a soldier with the israeli defe

i'm kira klapper.ome uc berkeley students worried about their kids' safety are hoping their action changes how the students are protected. their nonprofit group, safe bears, raised $40,000 to hire private security for the campus. the pilot program brought six guards to patrol the campus. they were unarmed but wore vests and trained in things like deescalation and cpr. the group plans to survey cal students about the guards. they ultimately want to make the case that berkeley campus leaders could expand this program long-term. >>> a follow-up to a story we reported yesterday morning. oakland's only in and out burger is now officially closed. the chain citing safety concerns. the corridor between 880 and the oakland airport has been hit hard by crime. other nearby businesses, including denny's and black bear diner, have closed recently. the oakland mayor says the city is working with county and state leaders to make the corridor safe once again. >>> going to turn now to cinthia pimentel with our microcli
