reporter liz nagy with our sister station in chicago is live there talking with the republican faithful. liz, when is trump expected to first appear at the convention? and really, what's the mood of those that you've been talking with? >> jr. it's unclear if we will see or hear from the former president in public before he officially accepts his party nomination on stage inside the arena here on thursday, but the former president is here on the ground in milwaukee. he got here about 6:00 local time just a few hours ago. that was just about 24 hours after he was shot on stage in pennsylvania. and we're told it was important to the former president to get here quickly. he wanted to join his party's loyal supporters here and show some strength. after that incident that happened yesterday. but as you can imagine, he arrives here to a city that is very tightly locked down, both with local law enforcement and secret service agents here on the ground. now, the republican national committee insists that this event is going on as scheduled. no changes have been made, but we did hear from the sec
