maria: welcome back.s this morning. we're expecting a mixed opening this morning, dow industrials down 21, nasdaq is up 34. we have a brand big jamming week this week. take a look at interest rates, 10 year treasury yield this morning as the federal reserve is kicking off its first monetary policy meeting of the year tomorrow morning, the yield on the 10 year at a level of 4.102%. jp morgan ceo jamie dimon says the u.s. is spending and speeding towards a cliff as the nation's debt is snow balling. you know he told me recently all about the bad policy decisions. i spoke with him about the potential for a recession. here's what jamie dimon told he me then. >> the good news is, the consumers have jobs, wages are going up finally more at the lower end, home prices are up which is good for their balance sheet. i'm skeptical of the gold hey locks scenario. i think the chances of it not being a slump are higher than other people. it might be mild recession or heavy recession. maria: he reiterated those comments

maria: yeah.use the fed was raising rates, you think. 11 rate hikes. >> absolutely. you know, you have to -- i always talk about that little i button when you get to net present values, the answer's different when you're i putting in a risk-free rate of 5 or near 0. and everyone had to adjust to that. now that we have if nothing else some stability that rates aren't going to go request up that precipitously, you're going to see that uncertainty come out of the markets, confidence back in. and there's a lot to do, maria. maria: if i want to talk about what to do because look at the 10-year this morning. actually, we're looking ahead to the fed's first monetary policy meeting of the year, and that, of course, is at the end of the month. and rates this morning are sitting at around 4% even on the 10-year. 3.98% is the 10-year right now which is up 4 basis points. goldman sachs predicted that the fed is going to cut interest rates five times beginning in march. i have a hard time believing that we're
