and marin and napa county. here's how this happened. if we go back, this is where the storm was yesterday, look at this beautiful system sitting out here and spinning its wheels. it finally came on short overnight, and you can see that over here and as we get into midnight, that is the best part of this. that is when most of the rain happened. this system has moved off to the east, we are still back towards the center of it which means we need to watch for the possibility of the showers coming in the form of an isolated thunderstorms and there is a weak cold front right here, this is the last thing this system has for us. this is going to happen tonight abide -- by midnight, it'll be done. once that front passes, we are done and for sunday, you're not getting any rain. he will wake up to blue skies, you get to salvage the second half of your weekend . daytime highs for tomorrow with more blue skies, we will warm up to the mid-60s, 64 in concord, 64 in pleasanton. shows you what a system like this will do. and a

that is a pretty widespread strand up there, for a good part of sonoma, napa, and marin, you will gete rain. not downpours, and most of it will come while most of us are sleeping, so you will see rain on the seven-day forecast for sunday, which will look pretty impressive in the tube, but most of that is coming before sunrise, at any rate we do get from the late morning on should be pretty light stuff. so keep your plans, but stay on top of the forecast, because you know this has been a very tricky system in terms of how the models have been able to pin it down. consistency has remained at least for this chance of light rain coming in late saturday early sunday. there is the sunday rain. saturday, you have a drop, but remember that is mainly later in the night, then by tuesday, clouds increase again. going to go through this game once more. the long-range forecast models are picking up on another system that will probably get into the early and middle part of next week, but there is not a lot of consistency, not a lot of agreement. so if you have got important plans that our weather -

and then again, it's about san francisco northward and up towards marin county in sonoma and napa. may maybe napa, a little bit there, but more so towards sonoma. mendocino county, south wind picking up. that makes sense. front direction. so we'll have that. it's on the mild side here for many now there's 40s to the north. a lot of 50s here, especially on the coast. half moon bay is 57. bolinas is 59. you got a lot of 50s, sausalito, tiburon, 56 with a south wind. but take a look here. montara beach is 60, pillar point is 58 degrees. so along the santa cruz san mateo coast and north or that south wind makes for a warm morning 20 in the mountains. this won't do anything for them until probably the weekend. the low is just too far away. eventually it's going to start to move open up and head in our direction, but that won't be until probably friday or saturday. so if you're south today, it's going to be on the mild to warm side with this south wind. in fact, mid 70s it looks likely. so san jose, you're good to go. santa cruz. you're good on this system. this is marin county north for

we do have most of our rain concentrated in marin county, comparatively dry in sonoma and napa counties right now, vacaville down south towards rio vista. you're seeing some rain. well, looking at some pretty good showers right around north beach. little italy in san francisco currently also lighter showers stretching down 101 from san mateo to mountain view and further south in the bay area from milpitas to san jose. some light showers there as well. rainfall amounts have been around a 3rd of an inch if not more in san francisco so far and around half an inch on some of our mountain tops near the coastline. so this is some good rain, some steady showers towards the coast. that low does move further southward and by the afternoon or actually tapping into sunshine time to get out on futurecast for you. light showers continue on through the couple of hours here. most of that rain is going to stay to the south by noontime. look at this. 11:00am even before noon. you're getting peeks of sunshine into the afternoon. lots and lots of sunshine. clear skies overnight tonight and dry conditions

so this is about marin county, sonoma county north, right up into mendocino.apa maybe tomorrow. some of this will skirt areas more on the peninsula, south bay and east bay. but i'll tell you, it just it's just, you know, unless something really dramatically changes, i'm seeing projections of 0 to 3 quarters of an inch. and just san jose and fremont between now and the next 48 hours. so to say they're struggling, the forecast models is an understatement. it does look like models are trimming back amounts. and this is the latest run of the gfs. are you kidding me? i mean, that's just nothing. we'll see if it holds. we'll see if it changes it changes its tune. sometimes as much as we change our socks. but the trend to drier, drier, drier continues. some rain to the north again, we'll see about marin county north, maybe a few sun breaks to the south and west, some mid 70s there, 60s and 70s on the temps here that could be a little rain tomorrow afternoon. i think a break thursday, our best opportunity for any rain would be friday. saturday looks like it's gone sat

sonoma county, napa, looks like marin, san pablo bay north. so the low will come in tonight. that will increase the rain. it'll take us into saturday. it looks like it's gone by sunday, but amounts for the first time this week have actually increased instead of decreased here. so that's a different little twist. but look at san rafael, napa and santa rosa. that's not bad. even san jose showing some pretty good rain along with santa cruz mountains. had some okay rain earlier, but even east bay and santa clara valley locations look like they'll pick up. not sure i buy this on truckee for the snow but the snow level will come down, especially as the cold air comes in late saturday into early sunday. so if you're driving up there saturday, today and saturday morning will be all right. they'll be on the warmer sector, just rain. but by late saturday, sunday, i think that turns to a wet snow for us, increasing clouds throughout the day 6070s mild with that south wind. but by tonight, rain develops. it will take us into saturday. good news, though. it's gone by sunday morning and th

these bands continue to just kind of flirt with solano county, napa county, and then for sure, marin county. it's all about sonoma county, the coast, and then up into mendocino county, there's a lot of moisture out there. the problem is it's out there and it's staying out there for now. the low we now have what's called a double barrel low. there's two of them. one of them continues to retrograde. it's like, where are you going out of the picture. there's a secondary one here. it's kind of stretching it out that weakens it. it's already what we call occluded, which means it's reached it's max. so that makes me a little nervous here. but temperatures are running warmer than 24 hours ago across the board because of a cloud cover and a southeast breeze that's going to make for a mild day in the santa clara valley. already seeing some 60s 64 at sfo, 60 three half moon bay, 62 fremont mountain view says, hey, we're 63, berkeley 61. there will be some warm temps there. you can see now if you're north. yeah this will continue to work its way in. the problem is when a win, will this system f

zooming in on the heaviest rain falling along the sonoma/napa line.hing into the east into napa county and downslope into the napa valley, the heaviest rain moved out of marin county into san pablo bay into the bay now into west oakland into downtown oakland and there is plenty of shower down the peninsula crossing over the bay and on its way to the east bay as well. we will zoom back out and put it all in motion, you see a wave of rain came rushing in, ahead of schedule, did not expect it to happen until after midnight. we definitely need the rain. beggars can not be choosers in terms of timing. future cast and track it through the rest of tonight. i think we are going to see more rain headed towards the coast around drive time tomorrow morning, as i mentioned earlier, allow for extra time. once you are on the roads extra stopping distance for the morning commute on wednesday. by noon, things largely quieted down. a shower or two popping up in the santa cruz mountains, otherwise, partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. a mix of clouds and sunshine in t

the system is sliding south, but marin county, san pablo bay moving into napa, southern sonoma county, although santa rosa has had a quarter of an inch in the last 24 hours, out towards contra costa, then you can see right along the coast, san francisco's also had a third of an inch just now making its move into the santa cruz mountains, santa clara valley down to monterey. the low, though, is right here. you can see the circulation around the low right there. but it is doing this. it's heading south. so as it does, there is a due east wind, i'll say san francisco, east mount tam, middle peak east, big rock, sonoma mountain, mount veeder also for atlas peak. so easterly breeze in place, upper 40s, low 50s. for many here i don't think these will change all that much 50s popular for menlo park. atherton. woodside stanford. palo alto. los altos. los altos hills. pacifica and is close for everyone else. 50 boy i'll tell you talk about isothermal although pillar point is 56 south wind that'll do it 16. truckee south lake tahoe 17 for 38 redding and then 48 from crescent city to san diego.
