phil flynn, bjorn lomborg, phil, you are the energy expert.make natural gas the bogeyman? >> because they can, right? there's absolutely no reason, in fact if you look at natural gas, it's the cheapest hydro carbon in the world and i would argue that the natural gas industry has done more to lower global greenhouse gas emissions than any other alternative fuel on the planet. and why is that? they have replaced coal plants, so picking on natural gas is the wrong thing to do and is another reason why our cities, by making decisions like this, are seeing their economic collapse. >> sandra: bjorn, it's known to be clean, cheap, natural gas, and we make a lot of it, by the way. right now the percent of american households that rely on natural gas for electricity, up 40%, bjorn. highly relying on this. it's a natural resource that we have plentiful supply of. why are they demonizing it? >> well, this is the big problem with climate change. you keep arguing, well, we should take away stuff that you actually like. they keep telling you, oh, it's going

phil flynn on top of that., phil, what they're trying to do is look at whether this is as climate-friendly as it's purported to be. whatever is happening here, what happens now? >> you know, i think this is a devastating blow to the environment, i really do, neil. because when you look at natural gas, it burns 80% cleaner than coal. and you only have to look at the recent cold snap that we had in the united states. 62% of all the power generation to keep us warm was generated by natural gas. cleaner burning natural gas. only 10% was driven by coal. if we didn't have natural gas, we would have to rely on more coal, that would be dirtier for the world. and this really is a win for coal because if we don't export clean natural gas, the rest of the world ooh's going to be a lot dirtier. neil: the one thing amazing, and i was looking forward to talking to you because i can't figure it out which we talk about on fox business, the one thing that always startles me is the fact that with all of these threats and everyth

here to weigh in is senior analyst and fox business contributor phil flynn. good morning, phil.d gas industry is booming, and yet the oil and gas industry is saying we're in danger of having an energy crisis. so why don't you break that down for us. >> i think what it is, rachel, that this shortsighted policy by the biden administration is diverting funds into unreliable energy sources, and we're not getting the type of investment in oil and gas in this country that we need to meet demand. and i can tell you today everybody in america is thankful for oil and gas producers because it's cold outside, and without them we would be freezing to death. and think -- i think that's e the key thing here. the u.s. oil and gas industry producing energy more cheaply, more cleanly than any other place in the world. and that's created a lot of economic growth for our society. if we with give that up with shortsighted policies, that means everybody in america suffers not only with higher prices, but less job opportunities because that's what we create. rachel: let's look at u.s. oil production
