cnn's priscilla alvarez this is in washington. paula hancocks is in abu dhabi and the united arab emirates, which has also been airdropping aid into gaza. but priscilla, i want to start with you because we're getting some news around the possibility of a ceasefire ceasefire. what are you hearing? >> yeah, omar, we're hearing from senior administration officials here in the last hour who said that israel has quote, basically accepted the framework of a hostage deal that would include a six-week ceasefire. this would do two things and would allow more humanitarian aid into gaza, a critical a critical need for the people in that region, but it would also allow for the release of some hostages particularly those who are considered most vulnerable. now, of course, this is all very sensitive. they are ongoing diplomatic talks that are happening today. but there was sounding message from these senior ministration officials was that the ball here really is in hamas's court. they're waiting to see if they can commit to the elements of this

priscilla alvarez, eva mckend. thank you both with me now to talk more about the 2020 for race, is loni can he's a former public policy director for mitt romney, and i want to start with getting your reaction to this possible supreme court ruling tomorrow on trump's ballot eligibility in colorado, trump isn't really expected to carry colorado in the general election. so does it matter if he's not on the state's ballot in november, what we're the implications here >> well, >> it certainly matters because we have to remember that there are a number of states that have proceeded under the same thesis that essentially they've relied on. this constitutional provision to try and keep him off the ballot. and now, when this case was argued before the supreme court's some number of weeks ago so supreme court justices were both conservative justices as well as ones that were appointed by democrats. on the more progressive side of the spectrum, express some amount of skepticism about this argument. so we should expect, given

priscilla alvarez joins us now from the white house with more priscilla. good morning. let's be real like this has become an annual exercise that is fundamentally meaningless, but it does tell us about what at least the white house sees as the priorities. so it does send messages. i'm what have you learned from what they've laid out here? >> well, i'm kasie in an election year, it's also an important messaging event for president biden to outline for voters what his vision is, especially as many are still sour on the economy. so this is a proposal that is expected to build on his state of the union address especially those components that look at building the middle-class. so some details from the proposals include raising taxes on large corporations reducing corporate profit shifting 25% tax on billionaires on billionaires it all in all would cut the deficit by $3 trillion in ten years. now, despite those positive indicators on the economy of the president is still facing low approval ratings on how he has handled the economy. so this is an attempt to appeal to those v

i wanna go to priscilla alvarez priscilla the president is not speaking directly behind you, but he'll deliver his state of the union this week. it's his chance really to showcase what he's done and tried to convince voters to give him another term in office. what are we likely to hear from him? >> well, exactly that omar laying out his accomplishments so far and what his vision is moving forward. and this is a critical moment for him. it is probably the biggest tv audience that he is going to have before november. and his advisers are working through some of the issues that he's going to touch on in this the dress that includes, for example, economic populism, lowering healthcare costs reproductive freedoms, preserving democracy, border security. all of these themes that we have heard over time and many of you, many of his speeches. but all packaged together in this address before congress also this timing would come only a couple of days after super tuesday. that's a time where campaign officials say it will become even clear that this race is between president biden and former presi

cnn white house correspondent priscilla alvarez has more on the us efforts to get more aid into gazaon saturday described or humanitarian aid drop in gaza as successful, but cautioned that more still needs to be done. here's what we know about the operation that happened on saturday, included 66 bundles that were dropped in gaza. it was done with the jordanian air force. and in total included 38,000 meals. was no water or medical well supplies that were part of this operation. us officials say they chose the location based off assessments so that people were sheltering in that area. and were in need and after the fact, they saw that civilians did approach the assistance and that they began distributing it. but administration officials made clear that this is not enough that they want to flood the zone that includes humanitarian aid drops, as well as exploring other avenues like a maritime corridor. and they also noted that none of that is a substitute to the crossings into gaza and making sure that those land crossings are also available to surge as much aid as possible. into a regio

i want to go now to priscilla alvarez, who was at the white house. priscilla, what is the white house saying >> well, they have not yet weighed in on what the supreme court decided here, but this is a significant development in this ongoing feud between the white house and texas governor greg abbott. of course, the governor has launched his own border mission that has been spurred controversy and pushback from the white house. and just yesterday, the white house press secretary was asked about this law and she said that this was just another example of how the texas governor has politicized the border. and then she also punted to the doj filings and what they have said about this law and what they have said is that this is a federal law enforcement is charged with enforcing immigration law. that's what it was unusual about this state law. to begin with. so it's very unclear at this point how this is going to be executed. operationally, i have been in touch with homeland security officials in the minutes since we've seen this and they have all been su
