i'm raj mathai. we are near lake sonoma. those retardant bombers now a common sight in the skies over wine country today. this fire started yesterday afternoon. quickly growing to about 1200 acres. you can see some of the aerial fight here. the good news is, this isn't spreading very much. that's the silver lining. cal fire though attacking this from the air and on the ground. containment has grown just a little bit to 20. now, just a few minutes ago, cal fire confirmed at least two homes have been destroyed. video shows some of the structures on fire. our sky ranger spotted some of the burned out buildings. now evacuation orders are still in effect in dry creek valley. here's a map here. dry creek valley is dotted with some private vineyards, ranches, and farms. the county says 240 people have been told to leave, with another 400 people under evacuation warnings, though some people have decided just to defy all of those orders and stay and protect their homes. one man says he watched two homes burn from his own front yard.
