let's bring in our meteorologist rob mayeda. rob, what's in store for tomorrow? >> most of the rain hanging on through the afternoon but the last of the rain with storm number one, storm number two moving down from the pacific northwest bringing wind, go there and rain with higher totals tomorrow. noticed the map behind me. the green and yellow would be 1/3rd of an inch to 1/2 of an inch to the coastal mountains is based hills. about triple the rainfall. today's rain heavy light rain at times and more rain coming into tomorrow. more wind is you come out to the coast and because of about 30 to 40 miles an hour at times and rain and wind at times and on top of that we have became tides returning. depending on where you are you may be alerted to a flood advisory and that is due to the king tides which reached their peak this time of year and it is wednesday through friday but unlike the high tide pattern of two weeks ago it is not being coupled with a high surf warning. you have the astronomical high tides warning and they are not as extreme as what they saw on the

let's check with rob mayeda. >> no rain in the forecast for monday, but visibility may be an issue depending on where you are. clear view looking back to the bay bridge near san francisco. but dublin now beginning to see low clouds on the increase. this is what we're watching. areas of patchy dense fog. rain does make the comeback on tuesday. then more rain chances later this week. it's pretty good around the bay area, but by tomorrow morning if you're in the north bay valley toward the tri valley and concord and san jose, we could see patchy dense fog to start the morning with overcast skies and highs tomorrow in the 50s to low 60s. on the horizon, we've got clouds out here to the west, which will lead to the first of a few rain chances this week. this is midday tuesday into early wednesday morning. could see about a quarter continue to half inch of rain around the bay area, followed by even more rain and the potential for heavy, high-elevation snow, starting friday into next weekend. we'll take a look at that, and the impact it might have on the big divisional playoff next saturday. that f

. >>> a break in the rain coming to an end this week, and rob mayeda with a look at the storm on the. >> yeah, right now 66 in san josÉ. we did reach low 70s earlier today, and there you see the sunshine around the golden gate bridge. this is a sizeable midweek storm that will come in with the one-two punch with heavy rain at times and gusty winds, and flood watches as we get closer could be issued for the bay area as the rain totals could be one to three inches across the bay area, and higher totals around the north bay mountains and santa cruz mountains. the rain you see over my shoulder, it gets started on wednesday, and purple areas show one to three inches of rain, marin county, and sonoma down -- county. and we will see other rapid rises in bay area creeks and streams during the night wednesday into thursday morning, and at the same time wind gusts increasing through the day on wednesday, a saturated ground and the rain falling could lead to issues of trees coming down and maybe power issues as well. again, all of these impacts getting started during the day on wednesday into t

rob mayeda has more on the red tape that may be tying up the process. >> we are outside the six acre lot that the city leased for $17 million over 10 years to build a safe parking site. with that kind of price tag, city officials and the homeless certainly expected to move in rvs that people are living in pretty quickly. right now, the gate remains thought, and that has unleashed a lot of frustration. they say they get harassed constantly for lining the streets. >> it's not our fault. it was because we were told to stay here because the park was supposed to have safe parking for us. that is what we are waiting for. >> it has been a long wait. the city leased this thought from a private owner last july, paying one $.7 million per year for 10 years to build a safe parking site. the completion date keeps getting pushed back. at a december counsel meeting, homeless advocates were told that it probably won't be ready until this fall. >> one year. that's not acceptable. all we need to do is get them in there, and then get the services. get everything ready. >> city officials encoding the m

meteorologist rob mayeda is here. >> marin, about an inch.ree inches of rain has come down already. for the north bay, as we head north from the golden gate bridge. that is where you are running into the downpours now. close to half an inch of rain. you can see why that is where the more substantial rain is the peak of the wind and rain dropping out of the north bay the next hour, on its way down to the south bay, we will see rain totals increasing between 6:00 and 11:00. flood watches continue for mendocino and lake counties along the russian river. overnight around 2:00 a.m. briefly touching flood stage at hopland. and then quickly dropping as we go through the day sunday. and the rain will start to move out. top rain totals right there on the coastal mountains. santa cruz mountains. rain rates come up before midnight. san jose, trivalley not likely to see anything more than maybe a quarter inch of rain. here is a look at the wind speed. we will see less wind and less rain in our sunday and monday forecast. so we'll catch a bit of a break.

let's bring in meteorologist rob mayeda tracking the changes ahead. so yesterday we had such a nice day. today it was rainy. what can we expect for tomorrow? >> we got the rain today that did come down. about a quarter inch of rain around san francisco, but most of the bay area, less than a tenth of an inch of rain. so not a lot, but it was obviously enough to wet the ground at times. tomorrow's storm is going to stick around longer, so the rain estimates tomorrow should be higher. most of the bay area, in the tenth of an inch to quarter inch rain. the areas in yellow could be closing in on about a half inch of rain. however, any red on this map is off to the east, out towards the sierra, where that will be the top precipitation total in terms of heavy snow. >> a lot of emphasis on the sierra and how much with the snowpack and everything. how much do you expect us to get over the next couple of days there? >> probably one of the bigger storms for snow production. we're going to see at least one to two feet across the sierra. that looks great, but at t
