san francisco kicked off its juneteenth event on friday with a big celebration outside city hall. juneteenth is now a federal holiday, on the 19th, it marks the day when enslaved men and women found out they were freed. today more than 10,000 people are expected to pack the streets of the fillmore district for a massive party. the event will feature eight blocks of fun filled activities for families, festivities include three stages with musical performances, you will also find dozens of retailers, food vendors and a kids zone and it is all free. a restaurant owner spoke to us about the importance of the event. >> this is a time for us to celebrate and show that we are still here, after 80 years, we are bringing the neighborhood back, so we get to celebrate this every year. >> it is also a tribute to the resilience and triumph of black americans. the event honors their path to freedom and celebrates their contributions to society point the festival today runs from 11:00 in the morning till 6:00 at night. >>> the alameda county fair in pleasanton opened up on friday, it is the olde

a few weeks later, fire gutted williams home while he was at san francisco city hall meeting to discuss those hate crimes. his elderly parents were home at the time. luckily, they were able to get out okay, but the fire did destroy all of williams possessions. if you have any information and you're or know anything about that video, call the sfpd. a former tesla employee is now accused of using molotov cocktails to start a fire at the fremont factory. tesla fired 24 year old kyle turk last year. still unclear why he was let go, but just a few weeks ago, police say turk started a fire in the fremont factory's parking lot. they claim he threw two molotov cocktails near a parked van with an employee inside of that van. the employee was not hurt. district now faces charges of vandalism and arson. officers say he's also suspected of slashing tires of two dozen cars in that very same lot, honoring a commitment to public safety. san jose. matt mahan says more officers will soon be on patrol downtown. today, the mayor joins acting sj, pd chief paul joseph to relocate the department's field trai

san francisco city hall, beautiful. lit up with pride today. mayor breed and the lgbtq community kicked off the city's 54th annual pride month. the celebration starts outdoors with the raising of the pride flag at city hall. right there on the front balcony, the mayor talked about a series of programs supporting the lgbtq community, but she says she's most excited that san francisco is the first in the country to have an office of transgender initiatives. it acts as a bridge between communities and the government seeking equity. the mayor also made this announcement. fingers crossed we may have a deal. finally, for a new building for the first ever lgbtq museum in san francisco. so she got excited there. there are all kinds of pride events throughout the bay area this month, but the biggest one is the pride parade in the city on june 30th. okay, are you ready for the ballers? tomorrow marks the first home game for oakland's new independent minor league baseball team. crews are putting the finishing touches on raimondi park in west oakland. game

city hall. mayor breed believes that graffiti and those remarks were targeted at her. the graffiti is at the front of the building and is now covered up by two tarps. you can see those tarps there, the mayor said. it showed up overnight and then it contained both racist and sexist slurs. we have people who come into this building every day to not only work, but to pay their taxes. people who come here to get married, i'm pretty sure i was a target. i mean, this is not unfamiliar to me. i do deal with this every day, whether it's, you know, things that have said on social media as well as emails that i received that describe me as exactly what was on this wall, it's sad to see that happen. whether you support her or not. the mayor says there is surveillance video of the incident, but police and the mayor's office aren't releasing it because of the active investigation. the police chief, bill scott, commented on twitter, saying the department will not stand for vile racism and hate. he says sfpd w
