abc seven news meteorologist sandyha patel is here with that. sandy. yeah, dan, right now the winds are gusting up to 34 miles an hour near that fire. >> so that is going to be problematic for the crews. take a look at the winds around other parts of the bay area. you will notice gusts to 39 in oakland, 28 in livermore, napa a gusts to 30. even san jose getting 28 mile an hour wind gusts. so with drier conditions expected, the temperatures rising rapidly. we do have a number of watches and warnings to pass along the area. shaded there around fairfield. that's a warning. an excessive heat warning that begins tomorrow at 11 a.m, runs until 8 p.m. thursday. the area shaded in orange. all are inland areas under an advisory 8 a.m. tomorrow until midnight. thursday for heat related illnesses are certainly going to be rising in terms of the increase in the possibility of it. and as you will notice, some parts of the bay area inland will be in that moderate to major heat risk. so take it easy out there and stay hydrated. i'll be back to show you the temperatur

meteorologist sandyha patel is here. sandy? >> yeah. a couple more days of this. and let me show you the air quality it has been suffering as we haven't had a strong sea breeze. as you will notice, it's moderate across many parts of the bay area, but that is going to change. most areas will turn green, which is good air quality. tomorrow as we look at live doppler seven, we do have some fog out there tomorrow afternoon. that fog will hang around near the beaches keeping your temperatures in the 50s breezy as well. inland areas. you're going to be mainly in the 80s as opposed to the 90s and one hundreds. we've dealt with now. as we hit the weekend saturday, temperatures will drop off some more. sunday is going to be very similar and then monday we warm it back up into the 90s. for those of you who like the warm weather, the accuweather seven day forecast will feature that cooling trend the next couple of days, taking you into the weekend with pleasant weather, and then next week we bring those temperatures back up closer to the mid 90s. by tuesday, and then back do

meteorologist sandyha patel is here. sandy. yeah. >> dan.oing to continue with this cool down that we just experienced today. and yes, you can feel it in many areas. let me show you a live picture right now from our emeryville camera. as we look at 80, a little bit of emeryville, there, you'll notice that haze in the atmosphere, air quality is moderate across parts of the bay area. as you will notice in yellow those dots. so we haven't had a strong sea breeze. and that's part of the issue here. right now it is 28 miles an hour onshore in san francisco. but the sea breeze will strengthen and that will mix out the atmosphere a bit. so tomorrow we're looking at good air quality for most areas. now here's what's setting the stage for some changes. this trough developing over the pacific is pushing the ridge eastward, and that's going to allow us to continue with the cool down. we are seeing some thunderstorms on the eastern side of california right now and heading into nevada right now on live doppler seven. we have that fog around that is going

let's go to abc seven news meteorologist sandyha patel. very steamy in some spots. sandy.eah. >> bay area is baking in the heat inland at least. and let me show you those temperatures right now it is close to 100 degrees in brentwood. >> 87 in san jose, 76 in oakland, 72. in the city. as we look at the north bay, 101 in fairfield, 97 degrees in santa rosa. heat advisory remains up the area, shaded in orange. all inland areas, until midnight thursday. we do have that excessive heat warning for solano county until 8 p.m. thursday, so the risk of heat illnesses is elevated and significantly in that excessive heat warning area and also parts of the inland valleys. now we look at a live picture from santa cruz camera. it is so beautiful and you may want to go there to escape the heat, but keep in mind that we do have some beach hazards to talk about . tomorrow morning at 8:00 until midnight friday a rough northwesterly swell heading in our direction. breakers of 15 to 20ft, bringing the risk of rip currents. so be careful out there. i'll be back to let you know how long this ho

meteorologist sandyha patel is here with the answer. sandy. >> yeah.f you're inland, i think you could get away with the pool weather, but it is going to be cooler. dan and umma, let me show you the live pictures from our tower cameras. they all pretty much tell the same story, which is the fog is back. it's a pretty murky view in emeryville from emeryville, as you can see, visibility right now. four miles in half moon bay, six miles in san carlos. so something you'll need to watch out for if you do have early morning plans. the marine layer is 2000ft deep. that is being enhanced by this system here with an atmospheric river that's heading into the pacific northwest. it is going to drench them, bringing them the potential for flooding rain for us, it's just going to drop our temperatures. right now, those numbers have dropped down to the 50s and the 60s. the winds have been gusty today and they continue to remain gusty around concord, 26 miles an hour. that is going to be the case as we head into tomorrow along the coast. we'll have the strongest winds

. >> meteorologist sandyha patel has that for us. sandy. >> yeah.o let me tell you, ama and dan the good news about this. it's only going to last for a day. and then the temperatures really back off, and it's not going to be anything like last week. so let's look at a live picture right now from our san jose camera where it's nice and sunny. this is one of the spots that's going to get warm fast tomorrow. as we check out live doppler seven, we still have some fog hanging around near the coastline. high pressure is really just going to nudge in a little bit more tomorrow, allowing those temperatures to rise, but they will rise in areas inland where you're looking at moderate to major heat risk. the area shaded in orange and red. so keep this in mind, especially if you're particularly sensitive to the heat. doesn't seem to be bothering the sea lions today because the weather is not that bad. this is pier 39 camera. you can see people visiting nice looking weather 66 in the city, 67. in oakland it is 75. in hayward, you're at 83 in san jose and 74 in r

meteorologist sandyha patel is here. sandy. >> i guess we're not technically in summer yet. sandhya. that's right. >> we're there. okay, on the 20th is when we'll get there. ama and dan. let's take a look at it right now from our mount tam cam, our marine influence is certainly there. feeling like summer because of the marine layer, today's temperatures were anywhere from the low 60s to the mid 80s. but places like brentwood getting up into the low 90s. the marine layer bringing cooler weather along with the sea breeze. 16 degree drop right now compared to 24 hours ago in concord. you're feeling it in livermore. 19 degrees cooler down 13. in santa rosa it is gusty right now and 31 miles an hour in napa, 30 sustained in san francisco out towards the delta. look at that. 27 to 31 miles an hour. that's going to keep this cooling trend going. you can see certainly the breezy conditions along the embarcadero from our roof camera here overnight tonight, fog and low clouds tomorrow cooling continues. and sunday afternoon into monday it is going to get gusty. higher fire danger. but

. >> abc seven news meteorologist sandyha patel is here talking about a red flag warning.. >> yeah, that's right, it's going to go up tomorrow night. so, dan, let's take a look at the winds right now gusting to 38 at sfo. but it is an onshore wind which keeps the humidity levels up. that is going to change direction a little bit tomorrow. more out of the north. so these are the areas going under a red flag warning parts of solano county and lake county 10 p.m. tomorrow, 11 p.m. tomorrow. excuse me until 8 p.m. sunday. gusts 25 to 35 miles an hour. the humidity levels will be between 10 and 20. let's go. hour by hour. you can see those winds ramping up sunday morning up to 40 miles an hour along the coast, nearing 50 at 5 p.m. inland areas will be gusty as well. you combine that with humidity. that's going to go from pretty high tomorrow night to dropping in our inland areas down to the teens in places like napa, concord, santa rosa. this is what is concerning 14% in napa. by sunday at 4 p.m, which is why the fire danger is elevated going into the weekend. i'll be back with

abc seven news meteorologist sandyha patel is along with us now to tell us how hot it will get. >> all right. you might be seeking the coast out, sandy. yeah, that's right, because we have the coast to go to. >> dan and kristen, let's take a look at your 24 hour temperature change. it is warmer around the region 11es warmer in livermore, up seven. novato six degrees warmer in oakland. when you take a look at those temperatures, you see 91 in fairfield. but it is not quite as warm in the city 65 degrees. so we do have our summer microclimates. it's only going to get warmer tomorrow. a heat advisory goes up for our inland valleys and mountains shaded in orange there from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. that advisory means that heat illnesses are possible, particularly for people who are sensitive, so you will want to take precautions. so when you ac here, it shows you the oranges here indicating moderate heat risk inland, the yellows right around the coast and around the bay is minor heat risk. but this is a time to stay hydrated and to keep cool. back to let you know how long the hot weather is goin
