the eastern half of santa clara county. it is moving further down into the foothills to the east of san jose. there are a few showers popping up over far northern sections of the north bay. these are lighter and they are going to be pretty sparse as we head into the rest of the evening. it is taking over the evening and night. we're not on the rain chances yet. let's add up how much as i related over the past eight hours or so since the rain started in the north bay. not much in the santa clara valley. there is nothing in morganville so far. that rain is moving into your neck of the woods. we are going to at that up once we get the update with the latest numbers coming up at 6:30. we will have those numbers for you at 7:00. if you move further north, it becomes more substantial. the numbers were pretty impressive when you factor in the spots that were not on the virtual reality map. we have a half inch of rain in the higher elevations . over one inch of total rainfall has accumulated. there is more on the way. the showers t

as we stretch to the santa clara valley, sunnyvale, santa clara, we are keeping a close eye on the heavier storms. this will continue to move to the north but mostly off to the east as we head into the early morning hours. it will add up fast into the morning hours. by 10:00 a.m., seeing over a half inch of rain in concord, fairfield, half moon bay. we'll continue to keep a close eye on these light bands throughout the afternoon because it is still unsettled into the evening hours tonight. as i advance to our tuesday morning forecast, we will see an inch of rain accumulate from now until that point. we have more showers as we head into tuesday afternoon all the way into wednesday. let me take it a step back and turn on the clouds so you can see throughout the bay area into this afternoon, our forecast is mild. by it is cool too. we are talking about 50s and 60s for daytime highs with all the rain around the corner into the afternoon too. it's going to be a wet one. grab the umbrella. keep those rain coats handy, rain boots as well into the santa clara valley. it will be an impressive storm

even in the santa clara valley. low 60s in the forecast near san jose and we kicked off the forecast with upper 60s close to the 70s anywhere from morgan hill up into san jose. there goes my ear piece. here's what we have as we headinto the next seven days. for the most part still in the low 60s until early next week. at that point high pressure builds in and still left with partly cloudy skies but at least temperatures will feel a little bit warmer. and then by late next week, there's a chance of showers as early as thursday. but we won't notice that nearly as much as in our inland areas compared to the bay or along the coastline. that is the reason why we have the scattered showers as soon as next thursday but that's seven days from now. for the most part, we need to focus on this weekend. partly cloudy skies and a light chance of showers into the early morning hours tomorrow so don't be shocked if you need to use the wipers. nothing too heavier by any means and you just saw about 0.1 of rain in the santa clara va

all the way down into the santa clara valley. off into the east bay anywhere from a tenth to a quarter inch of rain fell over in those communities. but hey, we do have some more showers in the forecast and it will be a lot lighter and once it makes its way towards us. this is where that system is at right now to the north of us, eureka and crescent city. into santa rosa and just around 9:00, it's not going to produce too much of rain. if anything about a quarter near bodega bay and about a tenth of an inch of rain from napa over into santa rosa and that continues to track to the south as we head into the afternoon hours today. this was just around 4:00. notice how it starts to clear up and we're actually left with dry conditions right behind that. lasting into this weekend. lasting into next week. and interestingly enough as we take a look at what we had yesterday, this was a pretty impressive storm and it packed its punch and gave us a quarter inch near concord and san francisco. napa an inch of rain and actually more than that
