a major headache in the south bay, or in this case, a major jam. a truck hauling a truck hauling strawberries crashed at a busy interchange. that truck, carrying 40,000 pounds of strawberries, overturned on the northbound 101 onramp to 880. the crash shut down the northbound connection on both freeways 101 and 880, for ten hours. they didn't reopen until about 1 p.m. crews spent the day just removing all those strawberries and a fuel leak. the driver, thankfully, was not hurt. a heads up now for drivers in san francisco. a busy road in the sunset district will partially shut down beginning tomorrow. northbound 19th avenue, a big artery of the city , will be shut down between sloat and taraval for construction. actually, it started today. crews are working to fix potholes and repave the road. the northbound lanes will be closed starting at nine tomorrow morning and will reopen around 3 p.m. the same closure will be in effect on friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. crews are also expected to start restriping next week, which could bring more lane closures. there

well, scary moments at a south bay middle school today. paramedics took two students to the hospital after a carbon dioxide exposure in a classroom. this happened at around 830 this morning at sunrise middle school in san jose. firefighters got a call about an odor that was making students and a teacher in a classroom feel sick. when fire crews arrived, dozens of people were having a hard time breathing. we're not sure exactly what caused it, but it could be that in the neighboring classroom, there was a locked box full of chemicals used for science experiments. it's possible that one of them leaked into the hvac system and went to the other classroom. a fire department said that most of the students were feeling better in about two hours, and classes did resume as normal. but as we mentioned, two students went to the hospital for evaluation at the request of their parents. no word yet on how they're doing. a neighborhood in san jose is getting something common but special to help make it more appealing, and hopefully a lot cooler in the m
