. >> stinson beach fire officials say the last time they saw a swell like this was just about one year ago. those evacuation advisories have now been lifted. >> well, people living on the coast of santa cruz county are getting ready for another round of heavy rain. strong winds and big waves today. those waves have already caused damage in several areas along the coastline, including rio del mar beach. waves as high as 30ft crashed over the seawall yesterday, flooding streets near the beach and sending driftwood and trees ashore. >> here we do have visitors from out of town that may not have been expecting this kind of tidal surge during their visit, so we did have deputies out here very early going door to door, explaining to people, hey, this is coming. >> the sheriff's department issued evacuation warnings up and down the santa cruz county coast that have since expired. however, they say the risk is not over yet. they warn if you're planning to be near the ocean, the beach, excuse me, or the ocean today, pay attention to your surroundings and make sure you keep your distance from th

marin county stinson beach fire issued an evacuation order for these areas. due to high surf and storm surge. community members are being told to evacuate immediately. in santa cruz county, they are already experiencing flooding. roads are closed and the chp says do not try to drive across the areas. an evacuation warning was issued including lost alos and beach drive. authorities say if you're in that area, be prepared to leave in case an evacuation order is later issued. the santa cruz wharf is closed. west cliff will also be closed between columbia and davidway. despite the warnings, we have seen people out in the water today. this is video from the santa cruz wharf. look at that. we spotted at least one brave surfer catching some tasty waves and onlookers on the deck. >> it's looking giant out there. maybe straight out here. we'll see. it's really big today. i would advise staying within your limits and probably not getting in the water. >> and this is video where coastal flood warning has been issued through 3:00 p.m. indicating an immediate threat to li

evacuation orders have been lifted for the stinson beach and seadrift communities. people were ordered to leave their homes around. 10 o'clock this morning. those residents can now return home, but they're urged to avoid any flooded areas. we did talk with the stinson beach fire district chief about why it's so important to follow these orders as soon as they come in. >> the oceans, angry. please stay away. give it some time to cool off. and he'd first responder warnings and directives and let let us do the work that we're doing down there. >> and that will go over to where kron four's gayle ong has been today. she's checking out the conditions. get gayle, what's it like? >> yet we've seeing sent huge waves out here just and quite dangerous conditions is actually higher in the morning. so, take a look. even if you notice these rocks on the shore year, this was all the shore year, this was all washed from the day. s see people out here little too close to the water and there's some people, their pets as well. i did speak to them. they say they live here in pacifica.
