in denver we have metropolitan state university, the first university in colorado to be accredited by the faa to offer aspiring pilots to achieve restricted pilot certificates. and partnering with affiliate flight schools in the greater metro area. would you describe, could you describe the impact the university programs have on growing the pipeline of training pilots? >> there is more than one pathway to getting the atp and having the academic program such as that, a two-year degree gets you a 250 hour reduction, a four year degree gets you a 500 hour reduction. the pilots are learning more and getting more credits towards the program. it is a great pipeline. it is good to be a pilot right now and people are coming to the schools rapidly to be part of this occupation so it is an essential part of what we do to get pilots in the pipeline. >> i was impressed when i looked at what they were doing, a great source of optimism. thank you for all of the work you are doing to keep the skies safe. i yield back. >> thank you for holding this incredibly important hearing. i share my colleagues
