1:10 pm
this 20 year they are raid which no one here where i'm situated right now is even taking seriously or considering anything less than a joke. it was all about syria, so syria has provided with an enormous amount of cover, to continue expanding the settlement enterprise. if you look over my right hand shoulder you will see, i am in downtown ramala, that is the settlement, which has a vineyard, which is appropriated from palestinians so that continues. meanwhile, secretary kerry who has said who is lobbying congress, telling them to authorize force, because this was a munich moment, comparing bashar al-asaad to adolf hitler,s that just struck a deal with his counter part in russia, lavrov, to essentially -- you could even say appease asaad other chemical weapons. i was recently in the refugee camp, one week ago. it is the 4th largest population.

continue be able to bomb people, at bakeries, and massacre people in their homes at dawn with long fives. and so what needs to happen after this is more diplomacy, extended diplomacy, a conference the geneva about the refugees about them being able to return to syria, and about easing the plight of the disposessed whose lives have been destroyed by the asaad regime. >> you write in your -- >> this is only a first step. >> you write in your ad for aljazeera.com america that israeli leaders feel they benefited from the war in syria, in fact, your words are in syria israel finds a blessed war, what do you mean by that? >> again, it's fascinating that when beam want to know what is happening in israel, they want to know what is happening with regards to syria, not palestine. martin indeck was capitol hill the prez conference
1:13 pm
with kerry. that esa the u.s.' lead negotiator on the peace process, and he has become a completely diminished figure, now we are just talking about syria, the first perspective is the same as the perspective on the iran iraq war. two of its enemies were grinding each other down in a war of attrition, and many called it a blessed war, so while the world reeled in horror, many saw their ideal situation playing out. and that's happening again in syria. the israeli military intelligence apparatus does not want bashar al-asaad removed. they would like to see him weakened. they would like to see hezbollah pinned down, and they would like to see this war play out no matter how many casualties it stakes. because the weaker the states are, the more time israel is able to buy itself to continue its settle project that is playing out right here in ramala. >> thank you very much for being with us, max, the new york times best
