>> hello, again. the heat is on across the southwestern part of the united states and we are lookinging at los angeles. i'll get to that in a moment. what is happening this the the big picture. were looking at high pressure across the west. it has kicked off the santa ana winds. people in the southwest. it's winds from the northeast across the mountains really warming things up. let's take a closer look at the geography across the region. just to the east of los angeles you have these mountains here. the wind comes across and comes down the mountains, keeps up and is very dry and warm. that's when we get the fire danger across the area as well

as those sweltering temperatures for many people there. this should last through the evening. by the time we get to tomorrow. things will start to ease off across the area and those warnings will expire. >> temperatures in will are 92-degrees. that is effecting other places where they are seeing temperatures that are 95. expect those to die off. tomorrow we are going to see a break. we will see temperatures at 83-degrees. by the time we get to wednesday those highs will be 68. >> that big storm is still pushing its way towards the east. no snow associated with it now and seeing a lot of weather that is pushing to parts of chicago and indianapolis have seen a break in the temperatures.
