mcdonald's to convince people it sells healthy foods. >> he'd been the leader of the pakistani taliban for four years, had a $5 million bounty on his head and was behind numerous attacks. he's dead. hakimullah mehsud has been killed in a suspected u.s. drone strike. we have this report from islamabad. >> it's a serious setback for the pakistani taliban. hakimullah mehsud had just finished meeting tribal leaders when the compound was struck by four missiles fired from a dran. the united states had been pursuing moousz. he was -- moousz for problem hakimullah mehsud for years. >> he was picture with a suicide bomber. the c.i.a. has his man. the pakistani government is in a difficult position.

>> he was a man of great strategic military and tactical skills. we don't want to romantizize what he did. he killed many. on another level, he will not be so pleased that he was killed by a drone strike. >> at the peace talks - these were meant to start friday. it's uncertain what impact the death will have on the group. they may retaliate by increasing the attacks. on the other hand others suggest it could motivate. >> he was one of those in the group who pushed for an aggressive violence campaign, actually to the shaking rein of some people in the pakistani taliban. we could see a lessoning of violence committed by the group as a consequence of his death. >> they are already starting the look to replace him including:

>> i think that this will be - that will create some kind of - it will cause trouble with the leadership. we are hearing two names. one of the names was replaced by hakimullah mehsud. i think there'll be a number of factions which will start to struggle. we must not forget whether it is a success. at that time they were close to hakimullah mehsud. we have to see if they are close. the people - another person was killed. it's a big crisis as i'm looking at it. >> what do you make of the timing of this attack? all split kag parties in pakistan

supported the government's attempts to negotiate with the ttp. will some see this as a deliberate attempt, do you think, by the u.s. to scupper peace talks? >> i think all the political parties - what we call the plm and others, they have given different versions and have one conclusion, that it was an attempt to sabotage the peace process. i have a different understanding because if you see the c.i.a. or the americas - they were behind it. still it is not clear. the delegation was about to leave today to go and meet the group. if you can say that they have lost their process. it has at the moment been

stopped and suspended. in the future they are sensing big trouble, whom to talk. the power struggle has started, we have to talk with two to four people. if there's a successful - in the way that we have seen others manage gs, the process at the time will definitely suspend. it's a blow to the claim that we are in the process where we have engaged. that's the reason the political parties have been protesting. here we cannot forget another thing, the americas are in the afghan war since 2001. they are not leaving any target with a strike on the americas. we have to take into account the strategic communities on the c.i.a. site. on our terms they will go after
