now the search is on for the man who started the brawl. >> good evening and welcome to al jazeera america. i'm thomas drayton. we begin with a 4-day search for malaysian airlines flight 370. that search is expanding. airline officials say they have moved beyond the flight's path and moved to the malaka straight. the search includes nine aircraft carriers and four ships. investigators identified the two men who used stolen passports to board flight 370. both are iranians, but authorities say they are not terrorists. malaysia flight 370 unexpectedly changed course. it adds to the mystery of the

missing plane. >> the beijing-bound jet was heard from last at 1:30 saturday morning. air traffic controllers outside of kuala lumpur lost contact thinking it disappeared here. there has been conflicting reports. malaysian airlines say it's possible that the plane turned plying over the state of malaka. authorities are not certain and can't explain why the plane would have changed course. it could rule out an explosion. it also means that the transponder or tracking systems were turned off, making it invisible. the altered course would at complexity and challenges to on board search and rescue missions by drastically expanding the site. none of the developments bought

comfort to the families of those on board. i hope all the passengers are safe, especially my little brother. >> police focussed their investigation on two of the passengers. men that boarded the plane with stolen passports. officials say they may have been asylum seekers with no links to a possible terror ist plot. investigators are combing through information about all passengers, while the loved ones wait for answers. >> the families of the passengers and the crew don't thing enough is being done. adding to the frustration is the fact that search teams likely spent days looking in the wrong place. the boeing 777 is considered one of the safest planes in the sky. allen schauffler takes a closer look at the 777 at an airport in pascoe washington. >> like this company, watching and waiting and hoping for the best for the people on board the

involving asiana airlines at san francisco international last year. one of the most reliable long-haul jet liners in the world. 1,100 operating all over the globe. >> is there concern about the model of aircraft worldwide because of what has happened. the company is not willing to address the issue. we asked them. they referred us back to a short statement. if it's discovered that this was a kata trophic mid-air occurrence that brought the plane down, if they find a debris field, a crash site, and that is the case, certainly it would be logical to take a look at other 777s around the whole and check them out and make sure everything is running fine. at this point no plans to ground the fleet. boeing, like all of us waiting and watching about that. >> allen schauffler from pascoe

washington. flight 370 disappeared with 239 people on board. a 12 member flight crew and 207 passengers. john terrett has some of their stories. >> this man was one of three americans, the other two were children. from texas, he worked from ibm in beijing, and was in the final stages of transferring to the company's office in malaysia. two french teenagers on board, in love, travelling back to their school in beijing, after a 2-week vacation. the young man's mother and 14-year-old sister were listed on the fight. >> this travelling couple from australia were in the midst of a big adventure, sharing the adjournmenty with friends - now all missing. these canadians were returning to beijing, after vacationing in vietnam. they worked in china and had two young bys that stayed home. this group of calligraphy

artists, many famous in their home, travelled to an exhibition. this, members of a semiconductor company. 12 chinese, one malaysian. this young man heading to bm -- beijing to start a new job. he posted this picture before it took off. relatives say cell phones are ringing. experts say because a caller is hearing a ringing sound doesn't mean it's going through to a phone. >> turning to ukraine, the campaign to split off the crimean region is growing intense. in five days the region will vote on whether to become part of the russia. the government in kiev say the vote is illegal. this as the new prime minister is headed to washington. as jennifer glasse reports, the move could further divide that region.

>> it was a beautiful day along the eastern sea board from boston all the way down towards parts of washington. now, that is going to change your. we'll have drastic changes. over the next 24 hours we are seeing the rain coming into play across the great lakes. we have warnings that are in effect. we had blizzard warnings for parts of western new york. what that means is 6 to 17 inches of snow is expected across the region, as well as 45 mile per hour wind. this is where the snow will be a major player. where you see the pink, that is going be up to 20 inches of snow on wednesday. temperatures tomorrow are not looking too bad towards the south. we'll see new york at 54. tuesday we could be up to 66 degrees.
