paintings stolen and recovered 42 years lair. -- later. >> there has been another mass shooting at the fort hood army post in the united states. a soldier went on a shooting spree while moving around the facility, killing three colleagues before turning the gun on himself. 16 were injured. some are in a critical condition. the fort hood post is known as being the scene of america's deadliest shooting. 13 were killed when a gunman opened fire in 2009. >> near the end of the work day at the u.s.'s largest military base gunfire at fort hood. everyone ordered to hide until the place say it's safe to come out. >> we have confirmed that there are three victims killed.

and then the shooter was killed. and there are 16 injured, being treated at scott and white and here at darnell. >> 4.5 years ago it was a similar scene at fort hood. 13 killed, many injured, and pfs one of the base's open, psychiatrist nidal hasan, who was sentenced to death for the massacre. he's appealing his punishment. on wednesday, 2009, the president's national security team gave him the news. >> this reopens the pain of what happened in fort hood five years ago. they serve with val our and distinction, and when they are at their home base they need to feel safe. >> in cal een, the town where fort hood is located, the community is too familiar with the trauma of mass killings. we had 23 people killed in the mass anger in 1991.

no one has claimed responsibility. let's check the latest. why do we think that group may be behind the abduction? >> well, i have spoken to the philippine military based out of the rest of part of the the philippines. they say the way the abduction has been conducted. they believe that a group of armed men sailed from the short stretch of water between so rrk u to the eastern part of malaysia and have taken the tourists and a filipino. they said they have the imprint of the usual operations or the way the group, believed to be a criminal group conduct the kidnappings. we will not expect claims of responsibility whatsoever. the group has not made claims before. we believe that if, indeed, this is a kidnapping incident. it may happen.

kidnapping is a real problem for the malaysian and philippine government. >> tell us more about this area where this is happening. this is an area where security is a big issue in the past few years. >> yes, indeed. in fact, this is not the first time. in 2000 the abu sayak group at the time, they claimed they had itiology abducted 20 western and malaysian nationals of sabah they were released except one filipino national. security has eased until a group of 100 armed men sailed off to saba, last year, in fact, calling themed the royal sulu army and said they were reclaiming saba from malaysia. in november there has been abductions from that area, the
