about this. >> that's right. this statement came from nigeria's chief of defense staff in an interview with the state news agency. during this interview, the chief of defense staff said that the good news for the parents and for the girls is that the nigeria military knows exactly where the missing girls are but cannot tell any of the parents or family. what they say is where they are being held is a place that the military can't go. they can't go into that area with force. they don't explain why but the military official who gave this statement says, we can't get the girls in the name of trying to get them back. this is the first time we have heard the military actually saying they have a sense of exactly where the girls may have been taken. honestly, this will be great news for the families, but obviously, a huge amount of concern about the fact that no details other than what i have just explained have been given. >> i just have one more quick one. the military is saying it's not going to go in to get them.

is there a neg orbati negotiati any kind that you are aware of? >> what the military is saying is that it can't go in there with force. i think that word "force" is important. it indicates perhaps there could be something in the offing, something in the nature of some kind of negotiations with them. up until this point, the nigerian government says it won't negotiate with terrorists, won't try to negotiate the girls' release. so, it's quite unclear when they say they won't go in there with force. but as i say, it indicates perhaps they are thinking of another strategy to try to get the girls freed. >> okay. ev on onne online with us from abuja, nigeria. in the days since a california man went on a shooting rampage, focused has increased on his manifesto. elliott roger until promises revenge on all women who has
