we are going to begin with a number to deal with a crisis in seems to be growing by the hour. the white house now asking congress for close to $4 billion to deal with the growing immigration crisis at the border. and today they provided details about how that money would be used. thrive at the white house, and mike, tell us more about the proposal and exactly where that money would be spent. >> dale, it is an unfolding crisis. fear for their lives and safety driving many of these families and unaccompanied children to the border principally in the rio grande valley of texas. the administration has been struggling to cope. 50 go thousand unaccompanied children the vast majority of them from three central american countries. el salvador, hour door russ, and guatemala. today much more money than we were initially led to believe. $3.7 billion total, that's what the administration is asking congress to deal with this problem.

we have a break down, 8,079,000,000 of that for detention and removal of adults traveling with children. 364 million to beef up the border patrol. and $1.8 billion to the department of health and human services to provide care for unaccompanied children who are detained in this country. and also including in the request additional prosecution capacity for adults with children and that brings up another issue dell, one that is proven tor ml1 c^ controversial, and that is the administration plan to deport most of these children, as they made clear yesterday, they don't think many of them will qualify to stay in this country, the president says in an accompanied letter with the, can he is going to be sending working with the congress for additional authority to exercise discretion and processing and return and removal of unaccompanied miner children from these noncontiguous countries.
