israel is continuing to search for a soldiers switching in action. israel claims the soldier who went missing on friday has been captured by hamas, but hamas said it does not know where the officer is. president obama has called for his release adding that it is a pre-condition for further cease-fire talks. intense diplomatic efforts to end the fighting, israel said it will not go to egypt for talks of peac cease-fire deal. a group of hamas is expected to arrive in egypt in a couple of hours. a man was killed during a demonstration during israel's military offensive on gaza.

an area where residence have been told that it's safe to return. how is it that this came about? >> reporter: well, people from the area had received word from the israeli army that they could now move back to their homes. we were just ate the an united nations schools right on the outskirts, and there were thousands of people there. they said they would not be returning back to their houses just yet even though they had received this word from the israeli army they didn't believe it. they don't think it's safe just yet. where we were we could still hear the shelling of tanks. certainly people are very nervous. we've had cease-fires come and go. people thought they would be safe to return home at various times and people have been injured or killed as they've done so. at this stage the people there, there are four and a half thousand of them, they said as much as they desperately wanting to home they've been living in this u.n. school for 17 days,

there are 60,000 tunisians who have been ordered to evacuate by the government. some are libyans who are fleeing the violence and some are egyptians. we saw 55 egyptians leave this border crossing but there are thousands more who are stuck on the other side of the border. the estimate is between 10,000 to 15,000 of them, and they have been stranded there for more than three days. yesterday they tried to force their way into tunisia, but they were not allowed in. today they were meeting with officials to try to organize how can they evacuate from libya without having to stay in tunisia. the tunisiaen government has major concerns. they don't want their country to turn into a refugee center. they're only allowing people who are going in and have a way out. for now the agreement is that the egyptian government is going to start flying charters from

local government officials gave a media conference, and they said a preliminary investigation has shown perhaps the explosion was caused by a flame being ignited in a dust-filled room which made it highly combustible and it was enough to send this huge fireball tearing through the workshop. that was a huge explosion. it was heard several kilometers away. the bodies of many of the dead have been charred beyond recognition. the bodies of many of the survivors have 80% burns to them. that is testimony to the power of this explosion. now many of the dead were poor migrant workers from far away provinces. they were working a saturday shift to earn extra money to send home to their families. china's president has ordered a full scale investigation. he sent his advice premiere to

their shoes. others in briefcases. others put it on their bodies. some are even hiding it inside televisions. >> reporter: these men say they were doing what they were told. taking the gold from point a to point b. receiving it to people they don't know, and also handing it over to people they don't know. this man was paid $60 to smuggle ten bars of gold the last time he did it. >> i'm just a driver. they asked me if i wanted to do it once before. the money was good, so i did it again. >> reporter: but it's not hard to figure out where this gold was supposed to be heading. >> while large amounts of gold is being brought into bangladesh illegally every day traders say it's not affecting their business at all because almost all of the precious metal is headed to neighboring india. >> india recently raised its import tax on gold.
