haram video not of this attack but of them riding through the streets in military vehicles. where do they get such sophisticated weaponry from? have they captured it from nigerian military or from outside? whether that's an interesting question, i was discussing recently with well placed sources, the there is a feeling this some of the weapons they get do come from collaborators within the nigerian military, people who have uniforms but are sympathetic if you like to boko haram and its ideology. a lt of military forces that i speak to down play the notion that these weapons are coming from abroad, from the north africa region they down play that and they suspect that a lot of these amortization are coming

to rely on exactly how much they win this election by. they have been the front runners sin may 2014 so all the opinion polls are saying that syriza, the radical left wing party are the ones that are going to win. but if they don't win an overall majority they are going to have to join up with a smaller party and that could well temper how far they go with their promises to the electorate. those promises are hitting home for those who have fallen on tough times. barnaby phillips went to the center of athens osee how hard those programs are hitting people. >> the tour leader yannis is well qualified to describe the economic crisis. he's unemployed and worried that he will soon lose his

the plane. it's his first visit since modi's election victory in may. liddy dutt joining us. a number of political issues to discuss. where do you want to begin? >> let's begin with a comment that's being reported in the indian press that president barack obama has reportedly made this morning suggesting in terms of the welcome he's received that you have been speaking about that this one might be hard to top. so it just goes to show that it's been noted just how big and how official the welcome has been and to what scale the indian authorities have gone to make the president and the first lady feel welcome. but in terms of the big deals we should really talk about civil nuclear, that is being touted as perhaps the big item up for discussion this afternoon. and if in fact a deal is announced, to allow more american investment in india's

civil nuclear energy space which is hugely lucrative india needs to build more of these facilities it could have ramifications for other countries that are trying to do the same thing namely france japan as well as russia. huge implications and very significant as we go forward. but what's important to understand is there are big ticket items from defense to taxation but it's going to be the follow through that's going to count given that two of the world's major economies are if their deals go through could help with that. >> in about 20, 25 minutes we are expected to hear from these two leaders at a press conference. what do you think that will headline? >> perhaps along with announcements on the deals and the key issues they're looking to talk about certainly india's role in the wider world an

few months ago acting president hand over power to edgar lungu let's hope the president focuses on the nitty-gritty issues of zambia. >> he hasn't got long to deliver if this is to be his only term because there will be another election within 18 months i think. >> exactly. he's very realistic about that. when he started his speech he says i know i'm only around for 18 months give or take, i know a lot of people have their doubts, i know a lot of people didn't vote for me but i'm your president your 66th president and i'm going to work to be sure that all of your lives improve. he promises to bring in investors. what does he plan to do with the mining tax? recently the government raised mining royalties and mining tax.

that's unrealistic that could mean job losses. he believes these mine companies who are mining copper is v to pay this money because the money would go to the government and look after the poor. so it will be a bit of a tag match between the investors and the president. but right now he's telling people in the stadium mainly poor people that they hope he delivers, come 2016 we aren't afraid to vote someone else in if you don't deliver on your promises. dennis. >> thank you haru matassa in the national stadium there in zambia. what has been an merge meeting in yemen has been postponed. tens of thousands of people have been protesting against houthi rebel group who are in control of the capital sanaa.

>> houthi fighters opened fire and the crowd scattered. three people were injured unclear if they were hurt by the gun shots or the ensuing panic. these people are anti-houthi protests a town under control of the rebel group since october. there were no gun shots in the capital sanaa as tens of thousands marched against the overtaking of the government and their city. these protesters don't want president abd man sur hadi resign. but he couldn't remainder in office. southern mp mps say they will

protest. secessionist movement that has simmered for decades. this is where the houthis are in control and including the capital sanaa. and these are cities that have seen major demonstrations against the rebels. but there are many others who support the rebel group. on friday thousands of them marched in support of the houthis and their plans to transition to a new leadership. so far efforts to bring together all of these factions have failed. >> translator: there were many mistakes and breaches that happened in the crisis. actions in the country increased the violence. that put the political process under serious threat. our goal now is to reach a political solution that will get differing views closer to each other to reconcile the political process in yemen. >> but this is a country where differences are often settled at the end of a gun. on a day when protesters took to

significance to both sides. major city between russia and russian annexed crimea. national security and deference council alexander torchinof said vladimir putin is responsible. putin has blamed the recent upsurge in violence against who he says those who issue criminal orders. days after the ukrainian military withdrew from donetsk airport. 30 kilometers outside dopts on thursday they have continued to launch attacks from northern areas of the city. there had been a warning. these attacks should perhaps come as no surprise. rebel leader here in donetsk said he had had enough in efforts of putting together some sort of truce and describing a multipronged attack out of donetsk that would take in that area including mariupul city.
